2025-04-04net: rename rtnl_net_debug to lock_debugStanislav Fomichev1-116/+0
And make it selected by CONFIG_DEBUG_NET. Don't rename any of the structs/functions. Next patch will use rtnl_net_debug_event in netdevsim. 2025-04-03rtnetlink: Use register_pernet_subsys() in rtnl_net_debug_init().Kuniyuki Iwashima1-1/+1
rtnl_net_debug_init() registers rtnl_net_debug_net_ops by register_pernet_device() but calls unregister_pernet_subsys() in case register_netdevice_notifier() fails. It corrupts pernet_list because first_device is updated in register_pernet_device() but not unregister_pernet_subsys(). Let's fix it by calling register_pernet_subsys() instead. The _subsys() one fits better for the use case because it keeps the notifier alive until default_device_exit_net(), giving it more chance to test NETDEV_UNREGISTER. 2025-01-17dev: Hold rtnl_net_lock() for dev_ifsioc().Kuniyuki Iwashima1-12/+3
Basically, dev_ifsioc() operates on the passed single netns (except for netdev notifier chains with lower/upper devices for which we will need more changes). Let's hold rtnl_net_lock() for dev_ifsioc(). Now that NETDEV_CHANGENAME is always triggered under rtnl_net_lock() of the device's netns. 2024-10-15rtnl_net_debug: Remove rtnl_net_debug_exit().Kuniyuki Iwashima1-6/+0
kernel test robot reported section mismatch in rtnl_net_debug_exit(). WARNING: modpost: vmlinux: section mismatch in reference: rtnl_net_debug_exit+0x20 (section: .exit.text) -> rtnl_net_debug_net_ops (section: .init.data) rtnl_net_debug_exit() uses rtnl_net_debug_net_ops() that is annotated as __net_initdata, but this file is always built-in. Let's remove rtnl_net_debug_exit(). Fixes: 03fa53485659 ("rtnetlink: Add ASSERT_RTNL_NET() placeholder for netdev notifier.") 2024-10-08rtnetlink: Add ASSERT_RTNL_NET() placeholder for netdev notifier.Kuniyuki Iwashima1-0/+131
The global and per-netns netdev notifier depend on RTNL, and its dependency is not so clear due to nested calls. Let's add a placeholder to place ASSERT_RTNL_NET() for each event.
