2023-06-21ARM: dts: Move .dts files to vendor sub-directoriesRob Herring1-575/+0
The arm dts directory has grown to 1559 boards which makes it a bit unwieldy to maintain and use. Past attempts stalled out due to plans to move .dts files out of the kernel tree. Doing that is no longer planned (any time soon at least), so let's go ahead and group .dts files by vendors. This move aligns arm with arm64 .dts file structure. There's no change to dtbs_install as the flat structure is maintained on install. The naming of vendor directories is roughly in this order of preference: - Matching original and current SoC vendor prefix/name (e.g. ti, qcom) - Current vendor prefix/name if still actively sold (SoCs which have been aquired) (e.g. nxp/imx) - Existing platform name for older platforms not sold/maintained by any company (e.g. gemini, nspire) The whole move was scripted with the exception of MAINTAINERS and a few makefile fixups. 2023-06-07ARM: dts: hisilicon: Unify pinctrl-single pin group nodesTony Lindgren1-4/+2
We want to unify the pinctrl-single pin group nodes to use naming "pins". Otherwise non-standad pin group names will add make dtbs checks errors when the pinctrl-single yaml binding gets merged. Let's also correct the pinctrl controller #size-cells to 0 while at it and drop unnecessary ranges property. 2020-09-14ARM: dts: hisilicon: Fix SP804 usersAndre Przywara1-10/+20
The SP804 binding only specifies one or three clocks, but does not allow just two clocks. The HiSi 3620 .dtsi specified two clocks for the two timers, plus gave one "apb_pclk" clock-name to appease the primecell bus driver. Extend the clocks by duplicating the first clock to the end of the clock list, and add two dummy clock-names to make the primecell driver happy. I don't know what the real APB clock for the IP is, but with the current DT the first timer clock was used for that, so this change keeps the current status. 2016-11-07ARM: dts: Add #pinctrl-cells for pinctrl-single instancesTony Lindgren1-0/+2
Drivers using pinctrl-single,pins have #pinctrl-cells = <1>, while pinctrl-single,bits need #pinctrl-cells = <2>. Note that this patch can be optionally applied separately from the driver changes as the driver supports also the legacy binding without #pinctrl-cells. 2016-03-13ARM, ARM64: dts: drop "arm,amba-bus" in favor of "simple-bus"Masahiro Yamada1-1/+1
The compatible string "simple-bus" is well defined in ePAPR, while I see no documentation for the "arm,amba-bus" arnywhere in ePAPR or Documentation/devicetree/. DT is also used by other projects than Linux kernel. It is not a good idea to rely on such an unofficial binding. This commit - replaces "arm,amba-bus" with "simple-bus" - drops "arm,amba-bus" where it is used along with "simple-bus" Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com> Signed-off-by: Olof Johansson <olof@lixom.net>
