2024-08-01ShellPkg/AcpiView: Update print-formatter prototypeRohit Mathew1-1/+3
As of now, the print-formatter implemented by the FNPTR_PRINT_FORMATTER function pointer takes two parameters, the format string and the pointer to the field. For cases where the print-formatter has to have access to the length of the field, there is no clean way to currently do it. In order to resolve this, update the print-formatter's prototype to take the length of the field as a third parameter. This change should improve the overall robustness and flexibility of AcpiView. 2024-08-01ShellPkg/AcpiView: Update field-validator prototypeRohit Mathew1-7/+13
As of now, the field-validator implemented by FNPTR_FIELD_VALIDATOR function pointer takes two parameters, the pointer to the field and a context pointer. For cases where the validator has to have access to the length of the field, there is no clean way to currently do it. In order to resolve this, this commit updates the field-validator's prototype to take the length of the field as an additional parameter. This enhancement allows field validators to perform more comprehensive validation, especially when the length of the field is critical to the validation logic. This change should improve the overall robustness and flexibility of AcpiView. FADT parser was checking for reduced ACPI flag incorrectly leading to incorrect error message if FIRMWARE_CTRL and X_FIRMWARE_CTRL are both 0. Reviewed-by: Zhichao Gao <zhichao.gao@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Ashish Singhal <ashishsingha@nvidia.com>
2019-12-05ShellPkg: acpiview: Add support for parsing FACSSami Mujawar1-5/+85
Add support for parsing the ACPI FACS table. The FADT parser has also been updated as it links the FACS table using the FIRMWARE_CTRL or X_FIRMWARE_CTRL fields. Since the FACS table does not follow the standard ACPI header, the FADT parser extracts the FACS signature, length and version fields before invoking the FACS parser. 2018-04-23ShellPkg: Add acpiview tool to dump ACPI tablesRuiyu Ni1-0/+261
This program is provided to allow examination of ACPI table contents from the UEFI Shell. This can help with investigations, especially at that stage where the tables are not enabling an OS to boot. The program is not exhaustive, and only encapsulates detailed knowledge of a limited number of table types. Default behaviour is to display the content of all tables installed. 'Known' table types will be parsed and displayed with descriptions and field values. Where appropriate a degree of consistency checking is done and errors may be reported in the output. Other table types will be displayed as an array of Hexadecimal bytes. To facilitate debugging, the -s and -d options can be used to generate a binary file image of a table that can be copied elsewhere for investigation using tools such as those provided by acpica.org. This is especially relevant for AML type tables like DSDT and SSDT. The inspiration for this is the existing smbiosview Debug1 Shell command. Many tables are not explicitly handled, in part because no examples are available for our testing. The program is designed to be extended to new tables with minimal effort, and contributions are invited.
