2020-12-19dm: Avoid accessing seq directlySimon Glass1-1/+1
At present various drivers etc. access the device's 'seq' member directly. This makes it harder to change the meaning of that member. Change access to go through a function instead. The drivers/i2c/lpc32xx_i2c.c file is left unchanged for now. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-12-14dm: treewide: Rename ..._platdata variables to just ..._platSimon Glass1-5/+5
Try to maintain some consistency between these variables by using _plat as a suffix for them. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-12-14dm: treewide: Rename ofdata_to_platdata() to of_to_plat()Simon Glass1-2/+2
This name is far too long. Rename it to remove the 'data' bits. This makes it consistent with the platdata->plat rename. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-12-14dm: treewide: Rename dev_get_platdata() to dev_get_plat()Simon Glass1-2/+2
Rename this to be consistent with the change from 'platdata'. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-12-14dm: treewide: Rename 'platdata' variables to just 'plat'Simon Glass1-2/+2
We use 'priv' for private data but often use 'platdata' for platform data. We can't really use 'pdata' since that is ambiguous (it could mean private or platform data). Rename some of the latter variables to end with 'plat' for consistency. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-12-13dm: treewide: Rename auto_alloc_size members to be shorterSimon Glass1-2/+2
This construct is quite long-winded. In earlier days it made some sense since auto-allocation was a strange concept. But with driver model now used pretty universally, we can shorten this to 'auto'. This reduces verbosity and makes it easier to read. Coincidentally it also ensures that every declaration is on one line, thus making dtoc's job easier. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-07-25treewide: convert devfdt_get_addr() to dev_read_addr()Masahiro Yamada1-1/+1
When you enable CONFIG_OF_LIVE, you will end up with a lot of conversions. To generate this commit, I used coccinelle excluding drivers/core/, include/dm/, and test/ The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows: <smpl> @@ expression dev; @@ -devfdt_get_addr(dev) +dev_read_addr(dev) </smpl> Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>

This reverts commit 5d3a21df6694ebd66d5c34c9d62a26edc7456fc7, reversing changes made to 56d37f1c564107e27d873181d838571b7d7860e7. Unfortunately this is causing CI failures: https://travis-ci.org/github/trini/u-boot/jobs/711313649 Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-04-27Remove unnecessary instances of DECLARE_GLOBAL_DATA_PTRTom Rini1-2/+0
We have a large number of places where while we historically referenced gd in the code we no longer do, as well as cases where the code added that line "just in case" during development and never dropped it. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-06-01dm: Rename dev_addr..() functionsSimon Glass1-1/+1
These support the flat device tree. We want to use the dev_read_..() prefix for functions that support both flat tree and live tree. So rename the existing functions to avoid confusion. In the end we will have: 1. dev_read_addr...() - works on devices, supports flat/live tree 2. devfdt_get_addr...() - current functions, flat tree only 3. of_get_address() etc. - new functions, live tree only All drivers will be written to use 1. That function will in turn call either 2 or 3 depending on whether the flat or live tree is in use. Note this involves changing some dead code - the imx_lpi2c.c file. 2014-10-27spi: altera: Clean up the use of variable dMarek Vasut1-10/+13
The variable d is used in rather questionable way. Rework the code a bit so it's clearer what it does. Also, rename the variable from d to data to make it's name less mysterious. Finally, change it's data type to uint32_t , since it's accessed as a 32bit number. The driver contained an endless loop when waiting for TX completion, this is a bad idea since if the hardware fails, the loop might spin forever. Add timeout and handle it.
