2023-12-07mfd: twl6030-irq: Revert to use of_match_device()Peter Ujfalusi1-5/+5
The core twl chip is probed via i2c and the dev->driver->of_match_table is NULL, causing the driver to fail to probe. This partially reverts: commit 1e0c866887f4 ("mfd: Use device_get_match_data() in a bunch of drivers") Fixes: 1e0c866887f4 ("mfd: Use device_get_match_data() in a bunch of drivers") Signed-off-by: Peter Ujfalusi <peter.ujfalusi@gmail.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20231029114843.15553-1-peter.ujfalusi@gmail.com Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee@kernel.org>

2022-04-28mfd: twl6030: Make twl6030_exit_irq() return voidUwe Kleine-König1-2/+1
This function returns 0 unconditionally, so there is no benefit in returning a value at all and make the caller do error checking. Also the caller (twl_remove()) cannot do anything sensible with an error code. Passing it up the call stack isn't a good option because the i2c core ignores error codes (apart from emitting an error message). 2015-08-11mfd: Kill off set_irq_flags usageRob Herring1-13/+0
set_irq_flags is ARM specific with custom flags which have genirq equivalents. Convert drivers to use the genirq interfaces directly, so we can kill off set_irq_flags. The translation of flags is as follows: IRQF_VALID -> !IRQ_NOREQUEST IRQF_PROBE -> !IRQ_NOPROBE IRQF_NOAUTOEN -> IRQ_NOAUTOEN For IRQs managed by an irqdomain, the irqdomain core code handles clearing and setting IRQ_NOREQUEST already, so there is no need to do this in .map() functions and we can simply remove the set_irq_flags calls. Some users also modify IRQ_NOPROBE and this has been maintained although it is not clear that is really needed. There appears to be a great deal of blind copy and paste of this code. 2013-08-20mfd: twl6030-irq: Convert to use linear irq_domainGrygorii Strashko1-50/+69
Since the TWL6030 PMIC is used with OMAP4 SoCs only and OMAP4 legacy boot is dropped there are no needs to allocate the range of IRQ descriptors during system boot to support TWL6030 IRQs. Hence, convert it to use linear irq_domain and move IRQ configuration in .map()/.unmap() callbacks of irq_domain. So, IRQ mapping and descriptors allocation will be performed dynamically basing on DT configuration. The error message will be reported in case if unmapped IRQ is received by TWL6030 (virq==0). 2013-08-20mfd: twl6030-irq: Migrate to IRQ threaded handlerNaga Venkata Srikanth V1-100/+50
1) Removed request_irq() and replaced it with request_threaded_irq(). 2) Removed generic_handle_irq() and replaced it with handle_nested_irq(). Handling of these interrupts is nested, as we are handling an interrupt (for e.g rtc, mmc1) when we are still servicing TWL irq. 3) Removed I2C read-retry logic for the case when twl_i2c_read() is failed inside IRQ handler - there is no sense to do that, so just report an error and return. 4) Each nested IRQ is configured with corresponding parent_irq, which need to be retriggered in case if nested IRQ is marked as IRQS_PENDING. 2012-03-22mfd: Move twl-core IRQ allocation into twl[4030|6030]-irq filesBenoit Cousson1-9/+22
During DT adaptation, the irq_alloc_desc was added into twl-core, but due to the rather different and weird IRQ management required by the twl4030, it is much better to have a different approach for it. The issue is that twl4030 uses a two level IRQ mechanism but handles all the PWR interrupts as part of the twl-core interrupt range. It ends up with a range of 16 interrupts total for CORE and PWR. The other twl4030 functionalities already have a dedicated driver and thus their IRQs and irqdomain can and should be defined localy. twl6030 is using a single level IRQ controller and thus does not require any trick. Move the irq_alloc_desc and irq_domain_add_legacy in twl4030-irq and twl6030-irq. Allocate together CORE and PWR IRQs for twl4030-irq. 2012-03-22mfd: Return twl6030_mmc_card_detect IRQ for board setupBenoit Cousson1-1/+2
Card detect IRQ from the TWL6030 used to be provided to the MMC controller code using a statically allocated IRQ scheme: card_detect_irq = TWL6030_IRQ_BASE + MMCDETECT_INTR_OFFSET; This is no longer valid in a SPARSE_IRQ context since there is no more pre-defined TWL6030_IRQ_BASE. 2012-03-06mfd: Clear twl6030 IRQ status register only onceNishanth Menon1-2/+11
TWL6030 family of PMIC use a shadow interrupt status register while kernel processes the current interrupt event. However, any write(0 or 1) to register INT_STS_A, INT_STS_B or INT_STS_C clears all 3 interrupt status registers. Since clear of the interrupt is done on 32k clk, depending on I2C bus speed, we could in-adverently clear the status of a interrupt status pending on shadow register in the current implementation. This is due to the fact that multi-byte i2c write operation into three seperate status register could result in multiple load and clear of status and result in lost interrupts. Instead, doing a single byte write to INT_STS_A register with 0x0 will clear all three interrupt status registers without the related risk. Although the irq_desc and lock are different, LOCKDEP treats these as equivalent, presumably due to problems that can be incurred when locking more than one irq_desc, so best to avoid this. 2010-10-29mfd: Adding twl6030 mmc card detect support for MMC1kishore kadiyala1-0/+73
Adding card detect callback function and card detect configuration function for MMC1 Controller on OMAP4. Card detect configuration function does initial configuration of the MMC Control & PullUp-PullDown registers of Phoenix. For MMC1 Controller, card detect interrupt source is twl6030 which is non-gpio. The card detect call back function provides card present/absent status by reading MMC Control register present on twl6030. Since OMAP4 doesn't use any GPIO line as used in OMAP3 for card detect, the suspend/resume initialization which was done in omap_hsmmc_gpio_init previously is moved to the probe thus making it generic for both OMAP3 & OMAP4.
