2024-11-01mfd: rtc: bd7xxxx Drop IC name from IRQMatti Vaittinen1-6/+6
A few ROHM PMICs have an RTC block which can be controlled by the rtc-bd70528 driver. The RTC driver needs the alarm interrupt information from the parent MFD driver. The MFD driver provides the interrupt information as a set of named interrupts, where the name is of form: <PMIC model>-rtc-alm-<x>, where x is an alarm block number. >From the RTC driver point of view it is irrelevant what the PMIC name is. It is sufficient to know this is alarm interrupt for a block X. The PMIC model information is carried to RTC via the platform device ID. Hence, having the PMIC model in the interrupt name is only making things more complex because the RTC driver needs to request differently named interrupts on different PMICs, making code unnecessary complicated. Simplify this slightly by always using the RTC driver name 'bd70528' as the prefix for alarm interrupts, no matter what the exact PMIC model is, and always request the alarm interrupts of same name no matter what the PMIC model is. 2024-02-23mfd: rohm: Convert to use maple tree register cacheBo Liu1-2/+2
The maple tree register cache is based on a much more modern data structure than the rbtree cache and makes optimisation choices which are probably more appropriate for modern systems than those made by the rbtree cache. 2023-08-18mfd: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring1-1/+1
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. 2023-06-15mfd: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. 2022-12-08mfd: rohm: Use dev_err_probe()Matti Vaittinen1-13/+10
The dev_err_probe() has (at least) following benefits over dev_err() when printing an error print for a failed function call at a device driver probe: - Omit error level print if error is 'EPRBE_DEFER' - Standardized print format for returned error - return the error value allowing shortening calls like: if (ret) { dev_err(...); return ret; } to if (ret) return dev_err_probe(...); Convert the ROHM BD71828, ROHM BD718x7 and ROHM BD9576 core drivers to use the dev_err_probe() when returned error is not hard-coded constant.
