2025-03-04iio: light: Add support for AL3000a illuminance sensorSvyatoslav Ryhel1-0/+10
AL3000a is a simple I2C-based ambient light sensor, which is closely related to AL3010 and AL3320a, but has significantly different way of processing data generated by the sensor. 2025-02-08iio: light: veml6030: fix scale to conform to ABIJavier Carrasco1-0/+1
The current scale is not ABI-compliant as it is just the sensor gain instead of the value that acts as a multiplier to be applied to the raw value (there is no offset). Use the iio-gts helpers to obtain the proper scale values according to the gain and integration time to match the resolution tables from the datasheet and drop dedicated variables to store the current values of the integration time, gain and resolution. When at it, use 'scale' instead of 'gain' consistently for the get/set functions to avoid misunderstandings. The ALS (Ambient Light Sensor) channel approximates the response of the human-eye providing direct read out where the output count is proportional to ambient light levels. It is internally temperature compensated and rejects 50Hz and 60Hz flicker caused by artificial light sources. Hardware interrupt configuration is optional. It is a low power device with 20 bit resolution and has configurable adaptive interrupt mode and interrupt persistence mode. 2024-01-22iio: light: as73211: add support for as7331Javier Carrasco1-2/+3
The AMS AS7331 is a UV light sensor with three channels: UVA, UVB and UVC (also known as deep UV and referenced as DUV in the iio core). Its internal structure and forming blocks are practically identical to the ones the AS73211 contains: API, internal DAC, I2C interface and registers, measurement modes, number of channels and pinout. The only difference between them is the photodiodes used to acquire light, which means that only some modifications are required to add support for the AS7331 in the existing driver. The temperature channel is identical for both devices and only the channel modifiers of the IIO_INTENSITY channels need to account for the device type. The scale values have been obtained from the chapter "7.5 Transfer Function" of the official datasheet[1] for the configuration chosen as basis (Nclk = 1024 and GAIN = 1). Those values keep the units from the datasheet (nW/cm^2), as opposed to the units used for the AS73211 (nW/m^2). Add a new device-specific data structure to account for the device differences: channel types and scale of LSB per channel. 2023-04-10iio: light: ROHM BU27034 Ambient Light SensorMatti Vaittinen1-0/+14
ROHM BU27034 is an ambient light sensor with 3 channels and 3 photo diodes capable of detecting a very wide range of illuminance. Typical application is adjusting LCD and backlight power of TVs and mobile phones. Add initial support for the ROHM BU27034 ambient light sensor. NOTE: - Driver exposes 4 channels. One IIO_LIGHT channel providing the calculated lux values based on measured data from diodes #0 and #1. In addition, 3 IIO_INTENSITY channels are emitting the raw register data from all diodes for more intense user-space computations. - Sensor has GAIN values that can be adjusted from 1x to 4096x. - Sensor has adjustible measurement times of 5, 55, 100, 200 and 400 mS. Driver does not support 5 mS which has special limitations. - Driver exposes standard 'scale' adjustment which is implemented by: 1) Trying to adjust only the GAIN 2) If GAIN adjustment alone can't provide requested scale, adjusting both the time and the gain is attempted. - Driver exposes writable INT_TIME property that can be used for adjusting the measurement time. Time adjustment will also cause the driver to try to adjust the GAIN so that the overall scale is kept as close to the original as possible. 2021-05-10iio: hid-sensors: select IIO_TRIGGERED_BUFFER under HID_SENSOR_IIO_TRIGGERAlexandru Ardelean1-2/+0
During commit 067fda1c065ff ("iio: hid-sensors: move triggered buffer setup into hid_sensor_setup_trigger"), the iio_triggered_buffer_{setup,cleanup}() functions got moved under the hid-sensor-trigger module. The above change works fine, if any of the sensors get built. However, when only the common hid-sensor-trigger module gets built (and none of the drivers), then the IIO_TRIGGERED_BUFFER symbol isn't selected/enforced. Previously, each driver would enforce/select the IIO_TRIGGERED_BUFFER symbol. With this change the HID_SENSOR_IIO_TRIGGER (for the hid-sensor-trigger module) will enforce that IIO_TRIGGERED_BUFFER gets selected. All HID sensor drivers select the HID_SENSOR_IIO_TRIGGER symbol. So, this change removes the IIO_TRIGGERED_BUFFER enforcement from each driver. 2020-03-27iio: light: Add support for Azoteq IQS621/622 ambient light sensorsJeff LaBundy1-0/+10
This patch adds support for the Azoteq IQS621 and IQS622 ambient light sensors, both of which can report a four-bit representation of ambient light intensity. The IQS621 can additionally report illuminace directly in units of lux, while the IQS622 can report a four-bit representation of infrared light intensity. Furthermore, the IQS622 can report a unitless measurement of a target's proximity to the device. Based on: - 3320A in-kernel driver - https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-iio/msg25145.html - https://lore.kernel.org/patchwork/patch/684179/ I decided to keep it aside of AL3320A due to different approach and much simpler design of 3010. 2020-02-14iio: light: Add a driver for Sharp GP2AP002x00FLinus Walleij1-0/+11
This driver handles two different Sharp sensors that have been proposed for merging to the mainline kernel over the years, and already has a limited proximity-only driver in the input subsystem. These components are completely different from the confusingly similarly named Sharp GP2AP020A00F, for which we have a driver in drivers/iio/light/gp2ap020a00f.c The two components GP2AP002A00F and GP2AP002S00F are distinctively different but similar: they share the same set of registers but differ slightly in the I2C protocol. Instead of the approach by the previous input driver, we create a combined IIO proximity and light sensor driver. The plan is to merge this driver and delete the input driver. The pieces for the driver are picked all over the place after researching and grepping through a few different vendor trees and driver submissions. We merge it under the light sensors because: - It has similarities with the Capella CM3605 light sensor and proximity driver which is there. - It is related to the GP2AP020A00F driver which is also there. This driver was tested with the Samsung GT-S7710 mobile phone which has the GP2AP002S00F proximity sensor mounted. The suspend/resume cycle will disable the interrupt from the sensor. If someone would desire to use this interrupt for wakeup, the driver will need modifications. 2019-02-02iio: light: add driver for MAX44009Robert Eshleman1-0/+10
The MAX44009 is a low-power ambient light sensor from Maxim Integrated. It differs from the MAX44000 in that it doesn't have proximity sensing and that it requires far less current (1 micro-amp vs 5 micro-amps). The register mapping and feature set between the two are different enough to require a new driver for the MAX44009. Developed and tested with a BeagleBone Black and UDOO Neo (i.MX6SX) Supported features: * Reading lux (processed value) * Rising and falling illuminance threshold events * Configuring integration time https://datasheets.maximintegrated.com/en/ds/MAX44009.pdf Signed-off-by: Robert Eshleman <bobbyeshleman@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <Jonathan.Cameron@huawei.com>

VCNL4200 is an integrated long distance (up to 1500mm) proximity and ambient light sensor. The support is very basic. There is no configuration of proximity and ambient light sensing yet. Only the reading of both measured values is done. The reading of ambient light and proximity values is blocking. If you request a new value too early, the driver waits for new value to be ready.
