2024-12-02module: Convert symbol namespace to string literalPeter Zijlstra1-1/+1
Clean up the existing export namespace code along the same lines of commit 33def8498fdd ("treewide: Convert macro and uses of __section(foo) to __section("foo")") and for the same reason, it is not desired for the namespace argument to be a macro expansion itself. Scripted using git grep -l -e MODULE_IMPORT_NS -e EXPORT_SYMBOL_NS | while read file; do awk -i inplace ' /^#define EXPORT_SYMBOL_NS/ { gsub(/__stringify\(ns\)/, "ns"); print; next; } /^#define MODULE_IMPORT_NS/ { gsub(/__stringify\(ns\)/, "ns"); print; next; } /MODULE_IMPORT_NS/ { $0 = gensub(/MODULE_IMPORT_NS\(([^)]*)\)/, "MODULE_IMPORT_NS(\"\\1\")", "g"); } /EXPORT_SYMBOL_NS/ { if ($0 ~ /(EXPORT_SYMBOL_NS[^(]*)\(([^,]+),/) { if ($0 !~ /(EXPORT_SYMBOL_NS[^(]*)\(([^,]+), ([^)]+)\)/ && $0 !~ /(EXPORT_SYMBOL_NS[^(]*)\(\)/ && $0 !~ /^my/) { getline line; gsub(/[[:space:]]*\\$/, ""); gsub(/[[:space:]]/, "", line); $0 = $0 " " line; } $0 = gensub(/(EXPORT_SYMBOL_NS[^(]*)\(([^,]+), ([^)]+)\)/, "\\1(\\2, \"\\3\")", "g"); } } { print }' $file; done Requested-by: Masahiro Yamada <masahiroy@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Peter Zijlstra (Intel) <peterz@infradead.org> Link: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/2/#inbox/FMfcgzQXKWgMmjdFwwdsfgxzKpVHWPlc Acked-by: Greg KH <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
2023-06-10hwmon: (pmbus/max16601) Add support for new revisions of MAX16508Guenter Roeck1-3/+3
New revisions of MAX16508 report MAX16508.xx or MAX16508y.xx as device ID, but are functionally similar to MAX16508. Add support for those chip variants. Cc: Vlad Sytchenko <vsytch@google.com> Cc: Steve Foreman <foremans@google.com> Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>
2023-06-08hwmon: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. 2023-02-03hwmon: (pmbus/max16601) Add support for MAX16600Guenter Roeck1-5/+9
From programming perspective, MAX16600 is identical to MAX16601 and MAX16602. Add support for it. Cc: Steve Foreman <foremans@google.com> Cc: Holly Barrett <holly.barrett@analog.com> Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>
2022-05-20hwmon: (pmbus/max16601) Add MAX16602 supportAtif Ofluoglu1-5/+8
Adding another MAX16602 chip support to MAX16601 driver Tested with MAX16602 works as expected. Signed-off-by: Atif Ofluoglu <atif.ofluoglu@maximintegrated.com> Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>
2021-04-20hwmon: (pmbus) Introduce PMBUS symbol namespaceGuenter Roeck1-0/+1
Exported pmbus symbols are only supposed to be used from PMBus code. Introduce PMBUS symbol namespace to prevent misuse from other code. Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>
2021-01-29hwmon: (pmbus/max16601) Add support for MAX16508Guenter Roeck1-20/+54
MAX16508 is quite similar to MAX16601, except that it does not support the DEFAULT_NUM_POP register and we thus can not dynamically determine the number of populated phases. 2021-01-29hwmon: (pmbus/max16601) Determine and use number of populated phasesGuenter Roeck1-1/+16
The MAX16601 can report the number of populated phases. Use this information to only create sysfs attributes for populated phases. 2020-12-03hwmon: (pmbus) shrink code and remove pmbus_do_remove()Bartosz Golaszewski1-1/+0
The only action currently performed in pmbus_do_remove() is removing the debugfs hierarchy. We can schedule a devm action at probe time and remove pmbus_do_remove() entirely from all pmbus drivers. 2020-09-23hwmon (pmbus) use simple i2c probe functionStephen Kitt1-4/+3
pmbus_do_probe doesn't use the id information provided in its second argument, so this can be removed, which then allows using the single-parameter i2c probe function ("probe_new") for probes. This avoids scanning the identifier tables during probes. Drivers which didn't use the id are converted as-is; drivers which did are modified as follows: * if the information in i2c_client is sufficient, that's used instead (client->name); * configured v. probed comparisons are performed by comparing the configured name to the detected name, instead of the ids; this involves strcmp but is still cheaper than comparing all the device names when scanning the tables; * anything else is handled by calling i2c_match_id() with the same level of error-handling (if any) as before. Additionally, the mismatch message in the ltc2978 driver is adjusted so that it no longer assumes that the driver_data is an index into ltc2978_id.
