2021-06-24drm/i915: Update object placement flags to be mutableThomas Hellström1-1/+2
The object ops i915_GEM_OBJECT_HAS_IOMEM and the object I915_BO_ALLOC_STRUCT_PAGE flags are considered immutable by much of our code. Introduce a new mem_flags member to hold these and make sure checks for these flags being set are either done under the object lock or with pages properly pinned. The flags will change during migration under the object lock. 2021-03-24drm/i915: Pass ww ctx to intel_pin_to_display_planeMaarten Lankhorst1-0/+2
Instead of multiple lockings, lock the object once, and perform the ww dance around attach_phys and pin_pages. 2021-03-24drm/i915: Rework struct phys attachment handlingMaarten Lankhorst1-6/+0
Instead of creating a separate object type, we make changes to the shmem type, to clear struct page backing. This will allow us to ensure we never run into a race when we exchange obj->ops with other function pointers. 2021-03-24drm/i915: Move HAS_STRUCT_PAGE to obj->flagsMaarten Lankhorst1-0/+12
We want to remove the changing of ops structure for attaching phys pages, so we need to kill off HAS_STRUCT_PAGE from ops->flags, and put it in the bo. This will remove a potential race of dereferencing the wrong obj->ops without ww mutex held. 2020-09-21drm/i915/selftest: Create mock_destroy_deviceDaniel Vetter1-1/+1
Just some prep work before we rework the lifetime handling, which requires replacing all the drm_dev_put in selftests by something else. v2: Don't go with a static inline, upsets the header tests and separation. 2020-09-07drm/i915: Add an implementation for i915_gem_ww_ctx locking, v2.Maarten Lankhorst1-1/+1
i915_gem_ww_ctx is used to lock all gem bo's for pinning and memory eviction. We don't use it yet, but lets start adding the definition first. To use it, we have to pass a non-NULL ww to gem_object_lock, and don't unlock directly. It is done in i915_gem_ww_ctx_fini. 2019-05-28drm/i915: Move GEM object domain management from struct_mutex to localChris Wilson1-2/+2
Use the per-object local lock to control the cache domain of the individual GEM objects, not struct_mutex. This is a huge leap forward for us in terms of object-level synchronisation; execbuffers are coordinated using the ww_mutex and pread/pwrite is finally fully serialised again.
