2024-09-26drm/armada: Run DRM default client setupThomas Zimmermann1-0/+1
Rework fbdev probing to support fbdev_probe in struct drm_driver and remove the old fb_probe callback. Provide an initializer macro for struct drm_driver that sets the callback according to the kernel configuration. Call drm_client_setup() to run the kernel's default client setup for DRM. Set fbdev_probe in struct drm_driver, so that the client setup can start the common fbdev client. The armada driver specifies a preferred color mode of 32. As this is the default if no format has been given, leave it out entirely. v5: - select DRM_CLIENT_SELECTION v4: - revert an unrelated cleanup (Javier) Signed-off-by: Thomas Zimmermann <tzimmermann@suse.de> Cc: Russell King <linux@armlinux.org.uk> Acked-by: Javier Martinez Canillas <javierm@redhat.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20240924071734.98201-74-tzimmermann@suse.de
2023-07-31fbdev: Use _IOMEM_ infix for I/O-memory helpersThomas Zimmermann1-1/+1
Change the infix for fbdev's I/O-memory helpers from _IO_ to _IOMEM_ to distiguish them from other types of I/O, such as file operations. The helpers operate on memory ranges in the I/O address space and the naming should make this clear. Adapt all users. No functional changes. 2023-06-01drm/armada: Use regular fbdev I/O helpersThomas Zimmermann1-0/+1
Use the regular fbdev helpers for framebuffer I/O instead of DRM's helpers. Armada does not use damage handling, so DRM's fbdev helpers are mere wrappers around the fbdev code. By using fbdev helpers directly within each DRM fbdev emulation, we can eventually remove DRM's wrapper functions entirely. v4: * use initializer macros for struct fb_ops v2: * use FB_IO_HELPERS option Signed-off-by: Thomas Zimmermann <tzimmermann@suse.de> Acked-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Cc: Russell King <linux@armlinux.org.uk> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20230530151228.22979-4-tzimmermann@suse.de

2017-01-11drm: add more MMU dependenciesArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
Many DRM drivers only work with an MMU, and after the patch to enable core DRM support without MMU, we already had one fixup for many of them. The etnaviv, armada and msm drivers were missed and have the same problem: warning: (DRM_ETNAVIV) selects IOMMU_SUPPORT which has unmet direct dependencies (MMU) warning: (DRM_I915 && DRM_MSM && DRM_ETNAVIV) selects SHMEM which has unmet direct dependencies (MMU) drivers/gpu/drm/armada/armada_gem.o: In function `armada_gem_vm_fault': armada_gem.c:(.text.armada_gem_vm_fault+0x14): undefined reference to `vm_insert_pfn' arch/arm/mm/dma-mapping.c: In function '__iommu_alloc_remap': arch/arm/mm/dma-mapping.c:1390:4: error: 'VM_ARM_DMA_CONSISTENT' undeclared (first use in this function) arch/arm/mm/dma-mapping.c:1456:31: error: 'atomic_pool' undeclared (first use in this function); did you mean 'atomic_xor'? 2016-07-18drm/armada: make fbdev support really optionalTobias Jakobi1-4/+0
Currently enabling Marvell Armada DRM support automatically pulls in fbdev dependency. However this dep is unnecessary since DRM core already handles this for us (DRM_FBDEV_EMULATION). 2015-09-15drm/armada: remove non-component supportRussell King1-9/+0
Now that the transition of TDA998x to the component helpers is complete, remove the non-componentised support from the Armada DRM driver. All outputs are expected to use the component helpers from now on. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2014-01-28DRM: armada: fix missing DRM_KMS_FB_HELPER selectRussell King1-0/+1
Commit 92b6f89f6b8f (drm: Add separate Kconfig option for fbdev helpers) happened in parallel with the inclusion of Armada DRM into mainline, and so missed this update. Add the necessary select statement to avoid build errors. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

2013-10-12DRM: Armada: Add Armada DRM driverRussell King1-0/+15
This patch adds support for the pair of LCD controllers on the Marvell Armada 510 SoCs. This driver supports: - multiple contiguous scanout buffers for video and graphics - shm backed cacheable buffer objects for X pixmaps for Vivante GPU acceleration - dual lcd0 and lcd1 crt operation - video overlay on each LCD crt via DRM planes - page flipping of the main scanout buffers - DRM prime for buffer export/import This driver is trivial to extend to other Armada SoCs. Included in this commit is the core driver with no output support; output support is platform and encoder driver dependent.
