2024-08-07powerpc/476: Drop explicit initialization of struct ↵Uwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
i2c_device_id::driver_data to 0 This driver doesn't use the driver_data member of struct i2c_device_id, so don't explicitly initialize this member. This prepares putting driver_data in an anonymous union which requires either no initialization or named designators. But it's also a nice cleanup on its own. 2023-03-30powerpc: Use of_property_present() for testing DT property presenceRob Herring2-2/+2
It is preferred to use typed property access functions (i.e. of_property_read_<type> functions) rather than low-level of_get_property/of_find_property functions for reading properties. As part of this, convert of_get_property/of_find_property calls to the recently added of_property_present() helper when we just want to test for presence of a property and nothing more. 2023-03-16powerpc: Make generic_calibrate_decr() the defaultChristophe Leroy8-9/+0
ppc_md.calibrate_decr() is a mandatory item. Its nullity is never checked so it must be non null on all platforms. Most platforms define generic_calibrate_decr() as their ppc_md.calibrate_decr(). 2023-01-30powerpc: Check !irq instead of irq == NO_IRQ and remove NO_IRQChristophe Leroy1-1/+1
NO_IRQ is a relic from the old days. It is not used anymore in core functions. By the way, function irq_of_parse_and_map() returns value 0 on error. In some drivers, NO_IRQ is erroneously used to check the return of irq_of_parse_and_map(). It is not a real bug today because the only architectures using the drivers being fixed by this patch define NO_IRQ as 0, but there are architectures which define NO_IRQ as -1. If one day those architectures start using the non fixed drivers, there will be a problem. Long time ago Linus advocated for not using NO_IRQ, see https://lore.kernel.org/all/Pine.LNX.4.64.0511211150040.13959@g5.osdl.org He re-iterated the same view recently in https://lore.kernel.org/all/CAHk-=wg2Pkb9kbfbstbB91AJA2SF6cySbsgHG-iQMq56j3VTcA@mail.gmail.com So test !irq instead of tesing irq == NO_IRQ. All other usage of NO_IRQ for powerpc were removed in previous cycles so the time has come to remove NO_IRQ completely for powerpc. 2022-11-24powerpc/warp: switch to using gpiod APIDmitry Torokhov1-12/+93
This switches PIKA Warp away from legacy gpio API and to newer gpiod API, so that we can eventually deprecate the former. Because LEDs are normally driven by leds-gpio driver, but the platform code also wants to access the LEDs during thermal shutdown, and gpiod API does not allow locating GPIO without requesting it, the platform code is now responsible for locating GPIOs through device tree and requesting them. It then constructs platform data for leds-gpio platform device and registers it. This allows platform code to retain access to LED GPIO descriptors and use them when needed. 2021-02-08powerpc/akebono: Fix unmet dependency errorsMichael Ellerman1-7/+0
The AKEBONO config has various selects under it, including some with user-selectable dependencies, which means those dependencies can be disabled. This leads to warnings from Kconfig. This can be seen with eg: $ make allnoconfig $ ./scripts/config --file build~/.config -k -e CONFIG_44x -k -e CONFIG_PPC_47x -e CONFIG_AKEBONO $ make olddefconfig WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for ATA Depends on [n]: HAS_IOMEM [=y] && BLOCK [=n] Selected by [y]: - AKEBONO [=y] && PPC_47x [=y] WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for NETDEVICES Depends on [n]: NET [=n] Selected by [y]: - AKEBONO [=y] && PPC_47x [=y] WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for ETHERNET Depends on [n]: NETDEVICES [=y] && NET [=n] Selected by [y]: - AKEBONO [=y] && PPC_47x [=y] WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for MMC_SDHCI Depends on [n]: MMC [=n] && HAS_DMA [=y] Selected by [y]: - AKEBONO [=y] && PPC_47x [=y] WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for MMC_SDHCI_PLTFM Depends on [n]: MMC [=n] && MMC_SDHCI [=y] Selected by [y]: - AKEBONO [=y] && PPC_47x [=y] The problem is that AKEBONO is using select to enable things that are not true dependencies, but rather things you probably want enabled in an AKEBONO kernel. That is what a defconfig is for. So drop those selects and instead move those symbols into the defconfig. This fixes all the kconfig warnings, and the result of make 44x/akebono_defconfig is the same before and after the patch. 2019-02-21powerpc/44x: Force PCI on for CURRITUCKMichael Ellerman1-0/+1
The recent rework of PCI kconfig symbols exposed an existing bug in the CURRITUCK kconfig logic. It selects PPC4xx_PCI_EXPRESS which depends on PCI, but PCI is user selectable and might be disabled, leading to a warning: WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for PPC4xx_PCI_EXPRESS Depends on [n]: PCI [=n] && 4xx [=y] Selected by [y]: - CURRITUCK [=y] && PPC_47x [=y] Prior to commit eb01d42a7778 ("PCI: consolidate PCI config entry in drivers/pci") PCI was enabled by default for currituck_defconfig so we didn't see the warning. The bad logic was still there, it just required someone disabling PCI in their .config to hit it. Fix it by forcing PCI on for CURRITUCK, which seems was always the expectation anyway. 2018-10-13powerpc: remove redundant 'default n' from Kconfig-sBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz1-22/+0
'default n' is the default value for any bool or tristate Kconfig setting so there is no need to write it explicitly. Also since commit f467c5640c29 ("kconfig: only write '# CONFIG_FOO is not set' for visible symbols") the Kconfig behavior is the same regardless of 'default n' being present or not: ... One side effect of (and the main motivation for) this change is making the following two definitions behave exactly the same: config FOO bool config FOO bool default n With this change, neither of these will generate a '# CONFIG_FOO is not set' line (assuming FOO isn't selected/implied).
