2022-12-02 | powerpc/qspinlock: powerpc qspinlock implementation | Nicholas Piggin | 1 | -7/+0
Add a powerpc specific implementation of queued spinlocks. This is the build framework with a very simple (non-queued) spinlock implementation to begin with. Later changes add queueing, and other features and optimisations one-at-a-time. It is done this way to more easily see how the queued spinlocks are built, and to make performance and correctness bisects more useful. 2020-07-26 | powerpc/pseries: Implement paravirt qspinlocks for SPLPAR | Nicholas Piggin | 1 | -0/+7
This implements the generic paravirt qspinlocks using H_PROD and H_CONFER to kick and wait. This uses an un-directed yield to any CPU rather than the directed yield to a pre-empted lock holder that paravirtualised simple spinlocks use, that requires no kick hcall. This is something that could be investigated and improved in future. Performance results can be found in the commit which added queued spinlocks.
