2025-07-25scsi: dt-bindings: mediatek,ufs: add MT8195 compatible and update clock nodesMacpaul Lin1-6/+36
Add MT8195 UFSHCI compatible string. Relax the schema to allow between one to eight clocks/clock-names entries for all MediaTek UFS nodes. Legacy platforms may only need a few clocks, whereas newer devices such as the MT8195 require additional clock-gating domains. For MT8195 specifically, enforce exactly eight clocks and clock-names entries to satisfy its hardware requirements. Add the 'mediatek,ufs-disable-mcq' property to the UFS device-tree bindings. This flag corresponds to the UFS_MTK_CAP_DISABLE_MCQ host capability recently introduced in the UFS host driver, allowing it to disable the Multiple Circular Queue (MCQ) feature when present. The binding schema has also been updated to resolve DTBS check errors. However, other UFS controller variants (R-Car S4-8 ES 1.2) require dynamic values, like those obtained from E-FUSE, and downloading firmware. Hence this patch series refactors the initialization code to prepare for this, and adds support for the UFS controller on R-Car S4-8 ES1.2. The accompanying DTS change is available at [1]. The Message Signaled Interrupts (MSI) support has been introduced in UFSHCI version 4.0 (JESD223E). The MSI is the recommended interrupt approach for MCQ. If choose to use MSI, in UFS DT, we need to provide msi-parent property that point to the hardware entity which serves as the MSI controller for this UFS controller. Except scaling UFS and bus clocks, it's necessary to scale also the voltages of regulators or power domain performance state levels. Adding Operating Performance Points table allows to adjust power domain performance state, depending on the UFS clock speed. OPPv2 deprecates previous property limited to clock scaling: freq-table-hz.
