2026-02-24MdeModulePkg: Replace include guards with #pragma onceMichael Kubacki1-4/+1
Replace traditional `#ifndef`/`#define`/`#endif` include guards with `#pragma` once. `#pragma once` is a widely supported preprocessor directive that prevents header files from being included multiple times. It is supported by all toolchains used to build edk2: GCC, Clang/LLVM, and MSVC. Compared to macro-based include guards, `#pragma once`: - Eliminates the risk of macro name collisions or copy/paste errors where two headers inadvertently use the same guard macro. - Eliminate inconsistency in the way include guard macros are named (e.g., some files use `__FILE_H__`, others use `FILE_H_`, etc.). - Reduces boilerplate (three lines replaced by one). - Avoids polluting the macro namespace with guard symbols. - Can improve build times as the preprocessor can skip re-opening the file entirely, rather than re-reading it to find the matching `#endif` ("multiple-include optimization"). - Note that some compilers may already optimize traditional include guards, by recognzining the idiomatic pattern. This change is made acknowledging that overall portability of the code will technically be reduced, as `#pragma once` is not part of the C/C++ standards. However, this is considered acceptable given: 1. edk2 already defines a subset of supported compilers in BaseTools/Conf/tools_def.template, all of which have supported `#pragma once` for over two decades. 2. There have been concerns raised to the project about inconsistent include guard naming and potential macro collisions. Approximate compiler support dates: - MSVC: Supported since Visual C++ 4.2 (1996) - GCC: Supported since 3.4 (2004) (http://gnu.ist.utl.pt/software/gcc/gcc-3.4/changes.html) - Clang (LLVM based): Since initial release in 2007 Signed-off-by: Michael Kubacki <michael.kubacki@microsoft.com>
2025-06-13MdeModulePkg: Refactor MM Services Tables linked in MM Core Perf LibMichael Kubacki5-67/+155
The code used a `MmServicesTableLib` dependency for both the Standalone MM and Traditional MM instances and shared code between those. There is not a readily available `MmServicesTable` lib instance for Traditional SMM (that can link to `PiSmmCore`). To ease integration and prevent creating an instance just for this case, this change uses `SmmServicesTableLib` in the Traditional SMM instance and `MmServicesTableLib` in the Standalone MM instance and moves code as necessary to accommodate this. For general reference, there are two available instances of `MmServicesTableLib`: - MdePkg/MmServicesTableLib - only supports DXE_SMM drivers. - MdePkg/StandaloneMmServicesTableLib - supports both MM drivers and MM cores. 2025-03-31StandaloneMmCorePerformanceLib.inf: Add gEfiEventExitBootServicesGuidMichael Kubacki1-1/+1

2025-03-21MdeModulePkg: Add Standalone MM Core performance supportMichael Kubacki6-1343/+1804
Adds a new library instance to support MM core functionality for performance in Standalone MM. - Add StandaloneMmCorePerformanceLib instance - Move common MM logic to a new file `MmCorePerformanceLib.c` - Define interfaces with implementation specific to MM environment type in `SmmCorePerformanceLibInternal.h` and implement those functions in the Standalone MM and Traditional MM specific C files Note: StandaloneMmCorePerformanceLib supports both `MM_CORE_STANDALONE` and `MM_STANDALONE` as some Standalone MM environments have privilege separation and need to link this functionality in a ring 3 Standalone MM driver that is outside the ring 0 Standalone MM core driver. 2019-10-09MdeModulePkg: fix cast in GetModuleInfoFromHandle() callsLaszlo Ersek1-4/+4
GetModuleInfoFromHandle() takes an EFI_HANDLE -- (VOID*) -- as first parameter, but InsertFpdtRecord() passes (EFI_HANDLE*) -- (VOID**). (VOID**) converts silently to (VOID*), which is why the wrong cast is masked. Note that the *value* that is passed is alright -- therefore this patch does not change behavior --, it's just semantically wrong to pass an (EFI_HANDLE*) where an EFI_HANDLE is expected. 2018-07-04MdeModulePkg/SmmCorePerformanceLib: Update mPerformanceLengthDandan Bi1-4/+4
In mSmmBootPerformanceTable there are two parts, one is the FPDT table header and the other is FPDT records. Currently: mPerformanceLength: The length of existing FPDT records. mMaxPerformanceLength: The maximum length allocated for mSmmBootPerformanceTable(including FPDT table header length and existing FPDT records length) But when compare mPerformanceLength with mMaxPerformanceLength to check whether need to allocate new buffer for new FPDT record, we miss to add mPerformanceLength with header length, which will cause pool allocation behavior is not correct. Now update the mPerformanceLength to fix this issue: updated mPerformanceLength = FPDT table header length + existing FPDT records length.
