2022-10-19BaseTools: Support COMPAT16 section generationKonstantin Aladyshev1-0/+1
Currently COMPAT16 section type is not recognized and GenSec is called without the "-s [SectionType]" argument. Add COMPAT16 type to the SectionType dictionary to fix the issue. 2020-11-04BaseTools: Remove the dependency on the build intermediate fileBob Feng1-16/+0
When generating compressed section, the build tool rely on the build intermediate files, which were generated in last build, to get the file list. This method will cause the incremental build to generate incorrect build result. To reproduce this incremental build error, you can do: 1. build Ovmf 2. change the module OvmfPkg\AcpiTables a source file Facp.aslc name from Facp.aslc to Facpxxx.aslc. 3. change the Facp.aslc file name in [sources] section of AcpiTables.inf 4. incremental build Ovmf you will see the in AcpiTables module Makefile, the corresponding Facp.acpi file is not changed. This patch is to make the build always get file list from the INF. Ffs Rule: [Rule.Common.USER_DEFINED.MicroCode] FILE RAW = $(NAMED_GUID) { $(INF_OUTPUT)/$(MODULE_NAME).bin } [Rule.Common.USER_DEFINED.LOGO] FILE RAW = $(NAMED_GUID) { |.bmp } As shown in the rule above,if SectionType and FileType not defined, FFS files are generated directly, and no other type of file is generated. 2018-10-15Revert BaseTools: PYTHON3 migrationLiming Gao1-0/+1
This reverts commit 6693f359b3c213513c5096a06c6f67244a44dc52.. 678f85131238622e576705117e299d81cff755c9. Python3 migration is the fundamental change. It requires every developer to install Python3. Before this migration, the well communication and wide verification must be done. But now, most people is not aware of this change, and not try it. So, Python3 migration is reverted and be moved to edk2-staging Python3 branch for the edk2 user evaluation. 2015-06-08BaseTools: Update GenFds to handle file type Ffs RuleLiming Gao1-4/+21
Ffs Rule can specify a file type instead of specific file name. GenFds should search Binary sections of module INF file and output directory of the module to find all matched file with the specific file type. Current GenFds only considers the final output target file. This patch applies the above rule to match output file with the specific file type. 2014-08-15There is a limitation on WINDOWS OS for the length of entire file path ↵Hess Chen1-2/+2
can’t be larger than 255. There is an OS API provided by Microsoft to add “\\?\” before the path header to support the long file path. Enable this feature on basetools.
