2021-08-03RDMA/hns: Don't skip IB creation flow for regular RC QPLeon Romanovsky1-3/+3
The call to internal QP creation function skips QP creation checks and misses the addition of such device QPs to the restrack DB. As a preparation to general allocation scheme, convert hns to use proper API. 2021-06-21RDMA/hns: Remove unused RR mechanismYangyang Li1-1/+1
Round-robin (RR) is no longer used in the allocation of the bitmap table, and all the function input parameters that use this mechanism are BITMAP_NO_RR. The code that defines and uses the RR needs to be deleted. 2021-04-01RDMA/hns: Reorganize doorbell update interfaces for all queuesYixian Liu1-12/+12

2021-03-26RDMA: Support more than 255 rdma portsMark Bloch1-5/+5
Current code uses many different types when dealing with a port of a RDMA device: u8, unsigned int and u32. Switch to u32 to clean up the logic. This allows us to make (at least) the core view consistent and use the same type. Unfortunately not all places can be converted. Many uverbs functions expect port to be u8 so keep those places in order not to break UAPIs. HW/Spec defined values must also not be changed. With the switch to u32 we now can support devices with more than 255 ports. U32_MAX is reserved to make control logic a bit easier to deal with. As a device with U32_MAX ports probably isn't going to happen any time soon this seems like a non issue. When a device with more than 255 ports is created uverbs will report the RDMA device as having 255 ports as this is the max currently supported. The verbs interface is not changed yet because the IBTA spec limits the port size in too many places to be u8 and all applications that relies in verbs won't be able to cope with this change. At this stage, we are extending the interfaces that are using vendor channel solely Once the limitation is lifted mlx5 in switchdev mode will be able to have thousands of SFs created by the device. As the only instance of an RDMA device that reports more than 255 ports will be a representor device and it exposes itself as a RAW Ethernet only device CM/MAD/IPoIB and other ULPs aren't effected by this change and their sysfs/interfaces that are exposes to userspace can remain unchanged. While here cleanup some alignment issues and remove unneeded sanity checks (mainly in rdmavt), Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210301070420.439400-1-leon@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Mark Bloch <mbloch@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Leon Romanovsky <leonro@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Jason Gunthorpe <jgg@nvidia.com>
2021-02-09RDMA/hns: Replace wmb&__raw_writeq with writeqLang Cheng1-15/+0
Currently, the driver updates doorbell looks like this: post() { wqe.field = 0x111; wmb(); update_wq_db(); } update_wq_db() { db.field = 0x222; __raw_writeq(db, db_reg); } writeq() is a better choice than __raw_writeq() because it calls dma_wmb() to barrier in ARM64, and dma_wmb() is better than wmb() for ROCEE device. This patch removes all wmb() before updating doorbell of SQ/RQ/CQ/SRQ by replacing __raw_writeq() with writeq() to improve performence. The new process looks like this: post() { wqe.field = 0x111; update_wq_db(); } update_wq_db() { db.field = 0x222; writeq(db, db_reg); } Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/1612517974-31867-8-git-send-email-liweihang@huawei.com Signed-off-by: Lang Cheng <chenglang@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Weihang Li <liweihang@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Jason Gunthorpe <jgg@nvidia.com>
2021-02-09RDMA/hns: Avoid filling sgid index when modifying QP to RTRWeihang Li1-0/+16
ULP usually set IB(V)_QP_AV when trying to modify QP to RTR if they want to record sgid index into QPC. For UD QPs, it is useless because it will be included in WQE. For RC QPs, it will be filled in hns_roce_set_path(). So sgid index shouldn't be filled by default. Then hns_get_gid_index() is moved to hns_roce_hw_v1.c because it is only called in it. 2020-12-11RDMA/hns: Simplify AEQE process for different types of queueYixian Liu1-11/+5
There is no need to get queue number repeatly for different queues from an AEQE entity, as they are the same. Furthermore, redefine the AEQE structure to make the codes more readable. In addition, HNS_ROCE_EVENT_TYPE_CEQ_OVERFLOW is removed because the hardware never reports this event. 2020-10-27RDMA: Check attr_mask during modify_qpJason Gunthorpe1-0/+2

2020-10-27RDMA: Remove uverbs_ex_cmd_mask values that are linked to functionsJason Gunthorpe1-7/+0
Since a while now the uverbs layer checks if the driver implements a function before allowing the ucmd to proceed. This largely obsoletes the cmd_mask stuff, but there is some tricky bits in drivers preventing it from being removed. Remove the easy elements of uverbs_ex_cmd_mask by pre-setting them in the core code. These are triggered soley based on the related ops function pointer. query_device_ex is not triggered based on an op, but all drivers already implement something compatible with the extension, so enable it globally too. 2020-05-06RDMA/hns: Optimize PBL buffer allocation processXi Wang1-31/+14
PBL table has its own implementation for multi-hop addressing currently, but for the hardware, all table's addressing use the same logic, there is no need to implement repeatedly. So optimize the PBL buffer allocation process by using the mtr's interfaces. 2020-04-22RDMA/hns: Support 0 hop addressing for CQE bufferXi Wang1-11/+2
Add the zero hop addressing support by using mtr interface for CQE buffer, so the hns driver can support addressing hopnum between 0 to 3 for CQE. 2020-04-22RDMA/hns: Support 0 hop addressing for WQE bufferXi Wang1-36/+44
Add the zero hop addressing support by using new mtr interface for WQE buffer and simple mtr invoking process, so WQE buffer can support hopnum between 0 to 3. 2020-04-22RDMA/hns: Optimize hns buffer allocation flowXi Wang1-1/+1

2020-03-18RDMA/hns: Rename wqe buffer related functionsXi Wang1-4/+5
There are serval global functions related to wqe buffer in the hns driver and are called in different files. These symbols cannot directly represent the namespace they belong to. So add prefix 'hns_roce_' to 3 wqe buffer related global functions: get_recv_wqe(), get_send_wqe(), and get_send_extend_sge(). 2020-01-10RDMA/hns: Add support for reporting wc as software modeXi Wang1-5/+9
When hardware is in resetting stage, we may can't poll back all the expected work completions as the hardware won't generate cqe anymore. This patch allows the driver to compose the expected wc instead of the hardware during resetting stage. Once the hardware finished resetting, we can poll cq from hardware again. 2020-01-03RDMA/hns: Simplify the calculation and usage of wqe idx for post verbsYixian Liu1-21/+16
Currently, the wqe idx is calculated repeatly everywhere it is used. This patch defines wqe_idx and calculated it only once, then just use it as needed. 2019-11-25RDMA/hns: Rename the functions used inside creating cqYixian Liu1-4/+4
Current names of functions are not proper, such as hns_roce_free_cq, actually it means free cqc, thus we rename them. Furthermore, functions used inside one file can be named without the prefix hns_roce_ which will make the functions for verbs symbols more eye-catching. 2019-11-25RDMA/hns: Redefine the member of hns_roce_cq structYixian Liu1-6/+3
There is no need to package buf and mtt into hns_roce_cq_buf, which will make code more complex, just delete this struct and move buf and mtt into hns_roce_cq. Furthermore, we add size member for hns_roce_buf to avoid repeatly calculating where needed it.
