[ Upstream commit 047ae665577776b7feb11bd4f81f46627cff95e7 ]
kzalloc() is a memory allocation function which can return NULL when
some internal memory errors happen. So it is better to check it to
prevent potential wrong memory access.
Besides, since mdp5_plane_reset() is void type, so we should better
set `plane-state` to NULL after releasing it.

[ Upstream commit 8b2c181e3dcf7562445af6702ee94aaedcbe13c8 ]
There is possible circular locking dependency detected on event_mutex
(see below logs). This is due to set fail safe mode is done at
dp_panel_read_sink_caps() within event_mutex scope. To break this
possible circular locking, this patch move setting fail safe mode
out of event_mutex scope.

how it assigns the return value). Therefore this pointer is going to be
NULL here. Let's use 'connector' which is what was intended.

[ Upstream commit 24b176d8827d167ac3b379317f60c0985f6e95aa ]
Quoting the header comments, IRQF_ONESHOT is "Used by threaded interrupts
which need to keep the irq line disabled until the threaded handler has
been run.". When applied to an interrupt that doesn't request a threaded
irq then IRQF_ONESHOT has a lesser known (undocumented?) side effect,
which it to disable the forced threading of irqs (and for "normal" kernels
it is a nop). In this case I can find no evidence that suppressing forced
threading is intentional. Had it been intentional then a driver must adopt
the raw_spinlock API in order to avoid deadlocks on PREEMPT_RT kernels
(and avoid calling any kernel API that uses regular spinlocks).
Fix this by removing the spurious additional flag.
This change is required for my Snapdragon 7cx Gen2 tablet to boot-to-GUI
with PREEMPT_RT enabled.

[ Upstream commit 3a3ee71bd8e14c5e852c71f317eebfda8f88dff0 ]
All DSI PHY/PLL drivers were referencing their VCO parent clock by a
global name, most of which don't exist or have been renamed. These
clock drivers seem to function fine without that except the 14nm driver
for sdm6xx [1].
At the same time all DTs provide a "ref" clock as per the requirements
of dsi-phy-common.yaml, but the clock is never used. This patchset puts
that clock to use without relying on a global clock name, so that all
dependencies are explicitly defined in DT (the firmware) in the end.
Note that this patch intentionally breaks older firmware (DT) that
relies on the clock to be found globally instead. The only affected
platform is msm8974 [2] for whose dsi_phy_28nm a .name="xo" fallback is
left in place to accommodate a more graceful transition period. All
other platforms had the "ref" clock added to their phy node since its
inception, or in a followup patch some time after. These patches
wrongly assumed that the "ref" clock was actively used and have hence
been listed as "Fixes:" below.
Furthermore apq8064 was providing the wrong 19.2MHz cxo instead of
27MHz pxo clock, which has been addressed in [3].
It is expected that both [2] and [3] are applied to the tree well in
advance of this patch such that any actual breakage is extremely
unlikely, but might still occur if kernel upgrades are performed without
the DT to match. After some time the fallback for msm8974 can be
removed again as well.

Each DP link training contains link training 1 followed by link
training 2. There is maximum of 5 retries of DP link training
before declared link training failed. It is required to stop link
training at end of link training 2 if it is failed so that next
link training 1 can start freshly. This patch fixes link compliance
test case 4.3.1.13 (Source Device Link Training EQ Fallback Test).

DP CTS test case 4.2.2.6 has valid edid with bad checksum on purpose
and expect DP source return correct checksum. During drm edid read,
correct edid checksum is calculated and stored at
connector::real_edid_checksum.
The problem is struct dp_panel::connector never be assigned, instead the
connector is stored in struct msm_dp::connector. When we run compliance
testing test case 4.2.2.6 dp_panel_handle_sink_request() won't have a valid
edid set in struct dp_panel::edid so we'll try to use the connectors
real_edid_checksum and hit a NULL pointer dereference error because the
connector pointer is never assigned.
Changes in V2:
-- populate panel connector at msm_dp_modeset_init() instead of at dp_panel_read_sink_caps()

error code in case msm_dsi_manager_validate_current_config() returns
false. However this is not an error case, but a slave DSI of the bonded
DSI link. In this case msm_dsi_modeset_init() should return 0, but just
skip connector and bridge initialization.
To reduce possible confusion, drop the
msm_dsi_manager_validate_current_config() function, and specif 'bonded

If you happened to try to access `/dev/drm_dp_aux` devices provided by
the MSM DP AUX driver too early at bootup you could go boom. Let's
avoid that by only allowing AUX transfers when the controller is
powered up.
Specifically the crash that was seen (on Chrome OS 5.4 tree with
relevant backports):

I did a little bit of tracing and found that:
* We register the AUX device very early at bootup.
* Power isn't actually turned on for my system until
hpd_event_thread() -> dp_display_host_init() -> dp_power_init()
* You can see that dp_power_init() calls dp_aux_init() which is where
we start allowing AUX channel requests to go through.
In general this patch is a bit of a bandaid but at least it gets us
out of the current state where userspace acting at the wrong time can
fully crash the system.
* I think the more proper fix (which requires quite a bit more
changes) is to power stuff on while an AUX transfer is
happening. This is like the solution we did for ti-sn65dsi86. This
might be required for us to move to populating the panel via the
DP-AUX bus.
* Another fix considered was to dynamically register / unregister. I
tried that at <https://crrev.com/c/3169431/3> but it got
ugly. Currently there's a bug where the pm_runtime() state isn't
tracked properly and that causes us to just keep registering more
and more.

According to the binding document of msm dsi controller, the

[ Upstream commit 3466d9e217b337bf473ee629c608e53f9f3ab786 ]
In commit 510410bfc034 ("drm/msm: Implement mmap as GEM object
function") we switched to a new/cleaner method of doing things. That's
good, but we missed a little bit.
Before that commit, we used to _first_ run through the
drm_gem_mmap_obj() case where `obj->funcs->mmap()` was NULL. That meant
that we ran:
vma->vm_flags |= VM_IO | VM_PFNMAP | VM_DONTEXPAND | VM_DONTDUMP;
vma->vm_page_prot = pgprot_writecombine(vm_get_page_prot(vma->vm_flags));
vma->vm_page_prot = pgprot_decrypted(vma->vm_page_prot);
...and _then_ we modified those mappings with our own. Now that
`obj->funcs->mmap()` is no longer NULL we don't run the default
code. It looks like the fact that the vm_flags got VM_IO / VM_DONTDUMP
was important because we're now getting crashes on Chromebooks that
use ARC++ while logging out. Specifically a crash that looks like this

commit e4840d537c2c6b1189d4de16ee0f4820e069dcea upstream.
In particular, we need to ensure all the necessary blocks are switched
to 64b mode (a5xx+) otherwise the high bits of the address of the BO to
snapshot state into will be ignored, resulting in:

commit b4d25abf9720b69a03465b09d0d62d1998ed6708 upstream.
In commit 142639a52a01 ("drm/msm/a6xx: fix crashstate capture for
A650") we changed a6xx_get_gmu_registers() to read 3 sets of
registers. Unfortunately, we didn't change the memory allocation for
the array. That leads to a KASAN warning (this was on the chromeos-5.4
kernel, which has the problematic commit backported to it):

[ Upstream commit 2203bd0e5c12ffc53ffdd4fbd7b12d6ba27e0424 ]
The msm_gem_new_impl() function cleans up after itself so there is no
need to call drm_gem_object_put(). Conceptually, it does not make sense
to call a kref_put() function until after the reference counting has
been initialized which happens immediately after this call in the
drm_gem_(private_)object_init() functions.
In the msm_gem_import() function the "obj" pointer is uninitialized, so
it will lead to a crash.

[ Upstream commit bf94ec093d05e3ed3142d9291b876eeb9997ba5c ]
The DSI host might be left in some state by the bootloader. If this
state generates an IRQ, it might hang the system by holding the
interrupt line before the driver sets up the DSI host to the known
state.
Move the request_irq into msm_dsi_host_init and pass IRQF_NO_AUTOEN to
it. Call enable/disable_irq after msm_dsi_host_power_on/_off()
functions, so that we can be sure that the interrupt is delivered when
the host is in the known state.
It is not possible to defer the interrupt enablement to a later point,
because drm_panel_prepare might need to communicate with the panel over
the DSI link and that requires working interrupt.

The downstream driver models this PLL lock check as an if-elseif-else.
The only way to reach the else case where pll_locked=true [1] is by
succeeding both readl_poll_timeout_atomic calls (which return zero on
success) in the if _and_ elseif condition. Hence both the "lock" and
"ready" bit need to be tested in the SM_READY_STATUS register before
considering the PLL locked and ready to go.
Tested on the Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra (nile-discovery, sdm630).
