c536ed2fffd5 ("objtool: Remove SAVE/RESTORE hints")
removed the save/restore unwind hints because they were no longer
needed. Now they're going to be needed again so re-add them.

Since entry asm is tricky, add a validation pass that ensures the
retbleed mitigation has been done before the first actual RET
instruction.
Entry points are those that either have UNWIND_HINT_ENTRY, which acts
as UNWIND_HINT_EMPTY but marks the instruction as an entry point, or
those that have UWIND_HINT_IRET_REGS at +0.
This is basically a variant of validate_branch() that is
intra-function and it will simply follow all branches from marked
entry points and ensures that all paths lead to ANNOTATE_UNRET_END.
If a path hits RET or an indirection the path is a fail and will be
reported.
There are 3 ANNOTATE_UNRET_END instances:
- UNTRAIN_RET itself
- exception from-kernel; this path doesn't need UNTRAIN_RET
- all early exceptions; these also don't need UNTRAIN_RET

The file-wide OBJECT_FILES_NON_STANDARD annotation is used with
CONFIG_FRAME_POINTER to tell objtool to skip the entire file when frame
pointers are enabled. However that annotation is now deprecated because
it doesn't work with IBT, where objtool runs on vmlinux.o instead of
individual translation units.
Instead, use more fine-grained function-specific annotations:
- The 'save_mcount_regs' macro does funny things with the frame pointer.
Use STACK_FRAME_NON_STANDARD_FP to tell objtool to ignore the
functions using it.
- The return_to_handler() "function" isn't actually a callable function.
Instead of being called, it's returned to. The real return address
isn't on the stack, so unwinding is already doomed no matter which
unwinder is used. So just remove the STT_FUNC annotation, telling
objtool to ignore it. That also removes the implicit
ANNOTATE_NOENDBR, which now needs to be made explicit.
Fixes the following warning:

Both nodemask and bitmap routines had mixed return values that provided
potentially signed return values that could never happen. This was
leading to the compiler getting confusing about the range of possible
return values (it was thinking things could be negative where they could
not be). In preparation for fixing nodemask, fix all the bitmap routines
that should be returning unsigned (or bool) values.

- Comprehensive interface overhaul:

Objtool's interface has some issues:
- Several features are done unconditionally, without any way to
turn them off. Some of them might be surprising. This makes
objtool tricky to use, and prevents porting individual features
to other arches.
- The config dependencies are too coarse-grained. Objtool
enablement is tied to CONFIG_STACK_VALIDATION, but it has several
other features independent of that.
- The objtool subcmds ("check" and "orc") are clumsy: "check" is
really a subset of "orc", so it has all the same options.
The subcmd model has never really worked for objtool, as it only
has a single purpose: "do some combination of things on an object
file".
- The '--lto' and '--vmlinux' options are nonsensical and have
surprising behavior.
Overhaul the interface:
- get rid of subcmds
- make all features individually selectable
- remove and/or clarify confusing/obsolete options
- update the documentation
- fix some bugs found along the way
- Fix x32 regression
- Fix Kbuild cleanup bugs
- Add scripts/objdump-func helper script to disassemble a single
function from an object file.
- Rewrite scripts/faddr2line to be section-aware, by basing it on
'readelf', moving it away from 'nm', which doesn't handle multiple
sections well, which can result in decoding failure.
- Rewrite & fix symbol handling - which had a number of bugs wrt.
object files that don't have global symbols - which is rare but
possible. Also fix a bunch of symbol handling bugs found along the
way.

Now that stack validation is an optional feature of objtool, add
CONFIG_OBJTOOL and replace most usages of CONFIG_STACK_VALIDATION with
it.
CONFIG_STACK_VALIDATION can now be considered to be frame-pointer
specific. CONFIG_UNWINDER_ORC is already inherently valid for live
patching, so no need to "validate" it.

Pull x86 CET-IBT (Control-Flow-Integrity) support from Peter Zijlstra:
"Add support for Intel CET-IBT, available since Tigerlake (11th gen),
which is a coarse grained, hardware based, forward edge
Control-Flow-Integrity mechanism where any indirect CALL/JMP must
target an ENDBR instruction or suffer #CP.
Additionally, since Alderlake (12th gen)/Sapphire-Rapids, speculation
is limited to 2 instructions (and typically fewer) on branch targets
not starting with ENDBR. CET-IBT also limits speculation of the next
sequential instruction after the indirect CALL/JMP [1].

In order to have objtool warn about code references to !ENDBR
instruction, we need an annotation to allow this for non-control-flow
instances -- consider text range checks, text patching, or return
trampolines etc.

Patch series "test_hash.c: refactor into KUnit", v3.
We refactored the lib/test_hash.c file into KUnit as part of the student
group LKCAMP [1] introductory hackathon for kernel development.
This test was pointed to our group by Daniel Latypov [2], so its full
conversion into a pure KUnit test was our goal in this patch series, but
we ran into many problems relating to it not being split as unit tests,
which complicated matters a bit, as the reasoning behind the original
tests is quite cryptic for those unfamiliar with hash implementations.
Some interesting developments we'd like to highlight are:
- In patch 1/5 we noticed that there was an unused define directive
that could be removed.
- In patch 4/5 we noticed how stringhash and hash tests are all under
the lib/test_hash.c file, which might cause some confusion, and we
also broke those kernel config entries up.
Overall KUnit developments have been made in the other patches in this
series:
In patches 2/5, 3/5 and 5/5 we refactored the lib/test_hash.c file so as
to make it more compatible with the KUnit style, whilst preserving the
original idea of the maintainer who designed it (i.e. George Spelvin),
which might be undesirable for unit tests, but we assume it is enough
for a first patch.
This patch (of 5):
Currently, there exist hash_32() and __hash_32() functions, which were
introduced in a patch [1] targeting architecture specific optimizations.
These functions can be overridden on a per-architecture basis to achieve
such optimizations. They must set their corresponding define directive
(HAVE_ARCH_HASH_32 and HAVE_ARCH__HASH_32, respectively) so that header
files can deal with these overrides properly.
As the supported 32-bit architectures that have their own hash function
implementation (i.e. m68k, Microblaze, H8/300, pa-risc) have only been
making use of the (more general) __hash_32() function (which only lacks
a right shift operation when compared to the hash_32() function), remove
the define directive corresponding to the arch-specific hash_32()
implementation.

tools/include/linux/kernel.h and kselftest_harness.h are missing
ifndef guard around ARRAY_SIZE define. Fix them to avoid duplicate
define errors during compile when another file defines it. This
problem was found when compiling selftests that include a header
with ARRAY_SIZE define.
ARRAY_SIZE is defined in several selftests. There are about 25+
duplicate defines in various selftests source and header files.
Add ARRAY_SIZE to kselftest.h in preparation for removing duplicate
ARRAY_SIZE defines from individual test files.

Clean up remaining headers that are specific to liblockdep but lived in
the shared header directory. These are all unused after the liblockdep
code was removed in commit 7246f4dcaccc ("tools/lib/lockdep: drop
liblockdep").
Note that there are still headers that were originally created for
liblockdep, that still have liblockdep references, but they are used by
other tools/ code at this point.

Commit 98e1385ef24b ("include/linux/radix-tree.h: replace kernel.h with
the necessary inclusions") broke the radix tree test suite in two
different ways; first by including math.h which didn't exist in the

When building objtool with HOSTCC=clang, there are several errors along
the lines of
orc_dump.c:201:28: error: unknown attribute 'error' ignored [-Werror,-Wunknown-attributes]
This occurs after commit 4e59869aa655 ("compiler-gcc.h: drop checks for
older GCC versions"), which removed the GCC_VERSION gating. The removed
version check just so happened to prevent __compiletime_error() from
being defined with clang because it pretends to be GCC 4.2.1 for
compatibility but the error attribute was not added to clang until
14.0.0.
Commit 815f0ddb346c ("include/linux/compiler*.h: make compiler-*.h
mutually exclusive") and commit a3f8a30f3f00 ("Compiler Attributes: use
feature checks instead of version checks") refactored the handling of
attributes in the main kernel to avoid situations like this but that
refactoring has never been done for the tools directory.
Refactoring is a rather large undertaking and this has never been an
issue before so instead, just guard the definition of
__compiletime_error() with __has_attribute() so that there are no more
errors.

The linux/kconfig.h file was copied from the kernel but the line where
with the generated/autoconf.h include from where the CONFIG_ entries
would come from was deleted, as tools/ build system don't create that
file, so we ended up always defining just __LITTLE_ENDIAN as
CONFIG_CPU_BIG_ENDIAN was nowhere to be found.
This in turn ended up breaking the build in some systems where
__LITTLE_ENDIAN was already defined, such as the androind NDK.
So just ditch that block that depends on the CONFIG_CPU_BIG_ENDIAN
define.
The kconfig.h file was copied just to get IS_ENABLED() and a
'make -C tools/all' doesn't breaks with this removal.

Adopt bitmap_intersects() routine that tests whether bitmaps bitmap1 and
bitmap2 intersects. This routine will be used during thread masks

GENMASK() has an input check which uses __builtin_choose_expr() to
enable a compile time sanity check of its inputs if they are known at
compile time.
However, it turns out that __builtin_constant_p() does not always return
a compile time constant [0]. It was thought this problem was fixed with
gcc 4.9 [1], but apparently this is not the case [2].
Switch to use __is_constexpr() instead which always returns a compile time
constant, regardless of its inputs.
