2023-04-15media: common: saa7146: drop 'fmt' from struct saa7146_bufHans Verkuil1-1/+0
Use the video_fmt in saa7146_vv instead of having a pointer to it in struct saa7146_buf. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil-cisco@xs4all.nl> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@kernel.org>

Instead use vv->resources and video_drvdata(file) to obtain this information. This prepares for the vb2 conversion later when saa7146_fh is dropped completely. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil-cisco@xs4all.nl> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@kernel.org>
2023-04-11media: Accept non-subdev sinks in v4l2_create_fwnode_links_to_pad()Laurent Pinchart1-4/+4
The v4l2_create_fwnode_links_to_pad() helper requires the sink pad passed to it to belong to a subdev. This requirement can be lifted easily. Make the function usable for non-subdev sinks, which allows using it with video_device sinks. In the file mc-device.c, the function media_device_register_entity_notify() does not need to have the __must_check attribute since it returns only a value of 0. 2023-03-20media: subdev: Add V4L2_SUBDEV_ROUTING_NO_MULTIPLEXINGTomi Valkeinen1-0/+11
A common case with subdev routing is that on the subdevice just before the DMA engines (video nodes), no multiplexing is allowed on the source pads, as the DMA engine can only handle a single stream. In some other situations one might also want to do the same check on the sink side. Add new routing validation flags to check these: V4L2_SUBDEV_ROUTING_NO_SINK_MULTIPLEXING and V4L2_SUBDEV_ROUTING_NO_SOURCE_MULTIPLEXING. 2023-03-20media: subdev: Split V4L2_SUBDEV_ROUTING_NO_STREAM_MIXTomi Valkeinen1-3/+14
V4L2_SUBDEV_ROUTING_NO_STREAM_MIX routing validation flag means that all routes from a sink pad must go to the same source pad and all routes going to the same source pad must originate from the same sink pad. This does not cover all use cases. For example, if a device routes all streams from a single sink pad to any of the source pads, but streams from multiple sink pads can go to the same source pad, the current flag is too restrictive. Split the flag into two parts, V4L2_SUBDEV_ROUTING_NO_SINK_STREAM_MIX and V4L2_SUBDEV_ROUTING_NO_SOURCE_STREAM_MIX, which add the restriction only on one side of the device. Together they mean the same as V4L2_SUBDEV_ROUTING_NO_STREAM_MIX. 2023-03-20media: saa7146: drop overlay supportHans Verkuil1-21/+0
Destructive overlay support (i.e. where the video frame is DMA-ed straight into a framebuffer) is effectively dead. It was a necessary evil in the early days when computers were not fast enough to copy SDTV video frames around, but today that's no longer a problem. It requires access to the framebuffer memory, which is a bad idea and very hard to do safely. In addition, in drm it is today almost impossible to get hold of the framebuffer address. So drop support for this. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil-cisco@xs4all.nl> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@kernel.org>
2023-03-20media: drop unnecessary networking includesJakub Kicinski2-5/+3
dvb_net.h includes a bunch of core networking headers which increases the number of objects rebuilt when we touch them. They are unnecessary for the header itself and only one driver has an indirect dependency. tveeprom.h includes if_packet to gain access to ETH_ALEN. This is a bit of an overkill because if_packet.h pulls in skbuff.h. The definition of ETH_ALEN is in the uAPI header, which is very rarely touched, so switch to including that. This results in roughly 250 fewer objects built when skbuff.h is touched (6028 -> 5788). Add a common keymap for the RC10/RC0 and RC20/RC-BT remotes used with the Dreambox One and Dreambox Two DVB-S/T boxes. The maps are combined since the IR codes do not conflict and both boxes have shipped with both remote designs over time. Both remote types can be programmed to control TVs, so include non-IR keys that are used to switch-to or toggle the remote mode: - DREAM in RC10/RC0 switches to (Dreambox) STB control mode - TV in RC10/RC0 switches to TV control mode - MODE in RC20/RC-BT toggles between STB/TV/BT control modes In the RC20 keymap the Android MIC (voice search) key maps to KEY_HELP and EXIT is mapped to KEY_ESC to replicate the go-backwards navigation behaviour in the Android vendor OS that ships on Dreambox devices. 2023-01-31media: uvcvideo: Add GUID for BGRA/X 8:8:8:8Marek Vasut1-0/+8
The Cypress EZUSB FX3 UVC example can be configured to report pixel format "e436eb7e-524f-11ce-9f53-0020af0ba770". This is its GUID for BGRA/X 8:8:8:8. The UVC 1.5 spec [1] only defines GUIDs for YUY2, NV12, M420 and I420. This seems to be an extension documented in the Microsoft Windows Media Format SDK[2]. This Media Format SDK defines this GUID as corresponding to `MEDIASUBTYPE_RGB32`, which is confirmed by [4] as `MEDIASUBTYPE_ARGB32` has different GUID. Note that in my case, the FX3 UVC can output either channel order, BGR or RGB or any other mix for that matter. Since Linux commit 1b8dc32286a1a ("[media] uvcvideo: Add GUID for BGR 8:8:8") defined a GUID for `MEDIASUBTYPE_RGB24` channel order as BGR, keep this change consistent and define `MEDIASUBTYPE_RGB32` as BGR as well. Document [3] also indicates the channel order is BGR. Add support for subdev internal routing. A route is defined as a single stream from a sink pad to a source pad. The userspace can configure the routing via two new ioctls, VIDIOC_SUBDEV_G_ROUTING and VIDIOC_SUBDEV_S_ROUTING, and subdevs can implement the functionality with v4l2_subdev_pad_ops.set_routing(). - Add sink and source streams for multiplexed links - Copy the argument back in case of an error. This is needed to let the caller know the number of routes. - Expand and refine documentation. - Make the 'routes' pointer a __u64 __user pointer so that a compat32 version of the ioctl is not required. - Add struct v4l2_subdev_krouting to be used for subdevice operations. - Fix typecasing warnings - Check sink & source pad types - Add 'which' field - Routing to subdev state - Dropped get_routing subdev op Signed-off-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com> Signed-off-by: Michal Simek <michal.simek@xilinx.com> Signed-off-by: Sakari Ailus <sakari.ailus@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jacopo Mondi <jacopo+renesas@jmondi.org> Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ideasonboard.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@kernel.org>

Commit 707947247e95 ("media: videobuf2-vmalloc: get_userptr: buffers are always writable") caused problems in a corner case (passing read-only shmem memory as a userptr). So revert this patch. The original problem for which that commit was originally made is something that I could not reproduce after reverting it. So just go back to the way it was for many years, and if problems arise in the future, then another approach should be taken to resolve it. This patch is based on a patch from Hirokazu. dvb_unregister_device() is known that prone to use-after-free. That is, the cleanup from dvb_unregister_device() releases the dvb_device even if there are pointers stored in file->private_data still refer to it. This patch adds a reference counter into struct dvb_device and delays its deallocation until no pointer refers to the object. 2022-11-25media: dvb-core: Enhance shared multi-frontend supportRobert Schlabbach1-1/+5
Drivers for devices with multiple frontends which cannot be used concurrently due to hardware limitations which enforce that restriction by setting the mfe_shared field to 1 exhibit rather unfriendly behavior towards applications: The unavailable frontend devices cannot be opened at all, not even for read-only access to query information. Even worse, any open call is blocked for 5 seconds by default. Allow drivers for such devices to behave like regular busy frontend devices instead, i.e. still allowing concurrent read access to the unavailable frontend and denying concurrent write access with -EBUSY without delay. This patch does not alter the behavior of any existing driver to avoid regressions. Driver developers who wish to take advantage of this must ensure their driver can handle all read-only accesses to the unavailable frontend, and indicate the capability by setting the mfe_shared field to 2 instead of 1. Add a check to dvb-usb-init.c when automatically setting the mfe_shared field that when a driver has already set the field to 2, it is not overwritten. Document the additional capability in the code comment about mfe_shared.
