2015-12-30switch ->get_link() to delayed_call, kill ->put_link()Al Viro1-1/+0

2015-12-09replace ->follow_link() with new method that could stay in RCU modeAl Viro1-1/+1
new method: ->get_link(); replacement of ->follow_link(). The differences are: * inode and dentry are passed separately * might be called both in RCU and non-RCU mode; the former is indicated by passing it a NULL dentry. * when called that way it isn't allowed to block and should return ERR_PTR(-ECHILD) if it needs to be called in non-RCU mode. It's a flagday change - the old method is gone, all in-tree instances converted. Conversion isn't hard; said that, so far very few instances do not immediately bail out when called in RCU mode. That'll change in the next commits. Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>
2015-12-09don't put symlink bodies in pagecache into highmemAl Viro1-0/+2
kmap() in page_follow_link_light() needed to go - allowing to hold an arbitrary number of kmaps for long is a great way to deadlocking the system. new helper (inode_nohighmem(inode)) needs to be used for pagecache symlinks inodes; done for all in-tree cases. page_follow_link_light() instrumented to yell about anything missed. 2012-01-10coda: switch coda_cnode_make() to sane API as well, clean coda_lookup()Al Viro1-10/+7

2012-01-10coda: deal correctly with allocation failure from coda_cnode_makectl()Al Viro1-12/+9
lookup should fail with ENOMEM, not silently make dentry negative. Switched to saner calling conventions, while we are at it. Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>

2010-10-25Coda: add spin lock to protect accesses to struct coda_inode_info.Yoshihisa Abe1-5/+14
We mostly need it to protect cached user permissions. The c_flags field is advisory, reading the wrong value is harmless and in the worst case we hit a slow path where we have to make an extra upcall to the userspace cache manager when revalidating a dentry or inode. 2007-02-12[PATCH] mark struct inode_operations const 1Arjan van de Ven1-1/+1
Many struct inode_operations in the kernel can be "const". Marking them const moves these to the .rodata section, which avoids false sharing with potential dirty data. In addition it'll catch accidental writes at compile time to these shared resources. 2006-03-24BUG_ON() Conversion in fs/coda/Eric Sesterhenn1-2/+1
this changes if() BUG(); constructs to BUG_ON() which is cleaner, contains unlikely() and can better optimized away. Signed-off-by: Eric Sesterhenn <snakebyte@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
