2022-11-23ocxl: fix pci device refcount leak when calling get_function_0()Yang Yingliang1-1/+19
get_function_0() calls pci_get_domain_bus_and_slot(), as comment says, it returns a pci device with refcount increment, so after using it, pci_dev_put() needs be called. Get the device reference when get_function_0() is not called, so pci_dev_put() can be called in the error path and callers unconditionally. And add comment above get_dvsec_vendor0() to tell callers to call pci_dev_put(). 2022-11-23misc: ocxl: fix possible name leak in ocxl_file_register_afu()Yang Yingliang1-2/+5
If device_register() returns error in ocxl_file_register_afu(), the name allocated by dev_set_name() need be freed. As comment of device_register() says, it should use put_device() to give up the reference in the error path. So fix this by calling put_device(), then the name can be freed in kobject_cleanup(), and info is freed in info_release(). 2022-11-23accessibility: speakup: phonetic spelling while arrowing letter by letterMushahid Hussain5-4/+17
This patch includes an enhancement requested frequently on the mailing list.[1][2] It adds a variable, cur_phonetic in the spk_vars, which can be set as a module parameter, as well as in /sys/speakup/cur_phonetic. This patch also documents cur_phonetic as a sysfs attribute in sysfs-driver-speakup. When cur_phonetic=1, it causes speakup to speak letters phonetically if paused on the character while arrowing through a word. When a user does not set cur_phonetic to any value, the default value for it would be 0. 2022-11-23nvmem: stm32: add warning when upper OTPs are updatedPatrick Delaunay1-0/+3
As the upper OTPs are ECC protected, they support only one 32 bits word programming. For a second modification of this word, these ECC become invalid and this OTP will be no more accessible, the shadowed value is invalid. This patch adds a warning to indicate an upper OTP update, because this operation is dangerous as OTP is not locked by the driver after the first update to avoid a second update. 2022-11-23virtio_console: Introduce an ID allocator for virtual console numbersCédric Le Goater1-15/+11
When a virtio console port is initialized, it is registered as an hvc console using a virtual console number. If a KVM guest is started with multiple virtio console devices, the same vtermno (or virtual console number) can be used to allocate different hvc consoles, which leads to various communication problems later on. This is also reported in debugfs : # grep vtermno /sys/kernel/debug/virtio-ports/* /sys/kernel/debug/virtio-ports/vport1p1:console_vtermno: 1 /sys/kernel/debug/virtio-ports/vport2p1:console_vtermno: 1 /sys/kernel/debug/virtio-ports/vport3p1:console_vtermno: 2 /sys/kernel/debug/virtio-ports/vport4p1:console_vtermno: 3 Replace the next_vtermno global with an ID allocator and start the allocation at 1 as it is today. Also recycle IDs when a console port is removed. 2022-11-23mei: add timeout to sendAlexander Usyskin6-9/+46
When driver wakes up the firmware from the low power state, it is sending a memory ready message. The send is done via synchronous/blocking function to ensure that firmware is in ready state. However, in case of firmware undergoing reset send might be block forever. To address this issue a timeout is added to blocking write command on the internal bus. Introduce the __mei_cl_send_timeout function to use instead of __mei_cl_send in cases where timeout is required. The mei_cl_write has only two callers and there is no need to split it into two functions. SRS cap is the hardware cap telling if the hardware IOMMU can support requests seeking supervisor privilege or not. SRE bit in scalable-mode PASID table entry is treated as Reserved(0) for implementation not supporting SRS cap. The A/D bits are preseted for IOVA over first level(FL) usage for both kernel DMA (i.e, domain typs is IOMMU_DOMAIN_DMA) and user space DMA usage (i.e., domain type is IOMMU_DOMAIN_UNMANAGED). Presetting A bit in FL requires to preset the bit in every related paging entries, including the non-leaf ones. Otherwise, hardware may treat this as an error. For example, in a case of ECAP_REG.SMPWC==0, DMA faults might occur with below DMAR fault messages (wrapped for line length) dumped.
