2022-01-06usb: dwc3: qcom: Fix NULL vs IS_ERR checking in dwc3_qcom_probeMiaoqian Lin1-2/+5
Since the acpi_create_platform_device() function may return error pointers, dwc3_qcom_create_urs_usb_platdev() function may return error pointers too. Using IS_ERR_OR_NULL() to check the return value to fix this. 2021-12-09Revert "usb: dwc3: dwc3-qcom: Enable tx-fifo-resize property by default"Douglas Anderson1-15/+0
This reverts commit cefdd52fa0455c0555c30927386ee466a108b060. On sc7180-trogdor class devices with 'fw_devlink=permissive' and KASAN enabled, you'll see a Use-After-Free reported at bootup. The root of the problem is that dwc3_qcom_of_register_core() is adding a devm-allocated "tx-fifo-resize" property to its device tree node using of_add_property(). The issue is that of_add_property() makes a _permanent_ addition to the device tree that lasts until reboot. That means allocating memory for the property using "devm" managed memory is a terrible idea since that memory will be freed upon probe deferral or device unbinding. Let's revert the patch since the system is still functional without it. The fact that of_add_property() makes a permanent change is extra fodder for those folks who were aruging that the device tree isn't really the right way to pass information between parts of the driver. It is an exercise left to the reader to submit a patch re-adding the new feature in a way that makes everyone happier. 2021-08-13usb: dwc3: qcom: add IRQ checkSergey Shtylyov1-0/+4
In dwc3_qcom_acpi_register_core(), the driver neglects to check the result of platform_get_irq()'s call and blithely assigns the negative error codes to the allocated child device's IRQ resource and then passing this resource to platform_device_add_resources() and later causing dwc3_otg_get_irq() to fail anyway. Stop calling platform_device_add_resources() with the invalid IRQ #s, so that there's less complexity in the IRQ error checking. In accordance with the USB HCD/DRD schema all the USB controllers are supposed to have DT-nodes named with prefix "^usb(@.*)?". Since the existing DT-nodes will be renamed in a subsequent patch let's fix the DWC3 Qcom-specific code to detect the DWC3 sub-node just by checking its compatible string to match the "snps,dwc3". The semantic of the code won't change seeing all the DWC USB3 nodes are supposed to have the compatible property with any of those strings set. 2019-06-18usb: dwc3: qcom: Start USB in 'host mode' on the SDM845Lee Jones1-0/+12
When booting with Device Tree, the current default boot configuration table option, the request to boot via 'host mode' comes from the 'dr_mode' property. A property of the same name can be used inside ACPI tables too. However it is missing from the SDM845's ACPI tables so we have to supply this information using Platform Device Properties instead. This does not change the behaviour of any currently supported devices. The property is only set on ACPI enabled platforms, thus for H/W booting DT, unless a 'dr_mode' property is present, the default is still OTG (On-The-Go) as per [0]. Any new ACPI devices added will also be able to over-ride this implementation by providing a 'dr_mode' property in their ACPI tables. In cases where 'dr_mode' is omitted from the tables AND 'host mode' should not be the default (very unlikely), then we will have to add some way of choosing between them at run time - most likely by ACPI HID. 2019-06-18usb: dwc3: qcom: Add support for booting with ACPILee Jones1-28/+178
In Linux, the DWC3 core exists as its own independent platform device. Thus when describing relationships in Device Tree, the current default boot configuration table option, the DWC3 core often resides as a child of the platform specific node. Both of which are given their own address space descriptions and the drivers can be mostly agnostic to each other. However, other Operating Systems have taken a more monolithic approach, which is evident in the configuration ACPI tables for the Qualcomm Snapdragon SDM850, where all DWC3 (core and platform) components are described under a single IO memory region. To ensure successful booting using the supplied ACPI tables, we need to devise a way to chop up the address regions provided and subsequently register the DWC3 core with the resultant information, which is precisely what this patch aims to achieve.
