2021-02-24ath11k: fix AP mode for QCA6390Kalle Valo1-2/+2
Commit c134d1f8c436 ("ath11k: Handle errors if peer creation fails") completely broke AP mode on QCA6390: kernel: [ 151.230734] ath11k_pci 0000:06:00.0: failed to create peer after vdev start delay: -22 wpa_supplicant[2307]: Failed to set beacon parameters wpa_supplicant[2307]: Interface initialization failed wpa_supplicant[2307]: wlan0: interface state UNINITIALIZED->DISABLED wpa_supplicant[2307]: wlan0: AP-DISABLED wpa_supplicant[2307]: wlan0: Unable to setup interface. wpa_supplicant[2307]: Failed to initialize AP interface This was because commit c134d1f8c436 ("ath11k: Handle errors if peer creation fails") added error handling for ath11k_peer_create(), which had been failing all along but was unnoticed due to the missing error handling. The actual bug was introduced already in commit aa44b2f3ecd4 ("ath11k: start vdev if a bss peer is already created"). ath11k_peer_create() was failing because for AP mode the peer is created already earlier op_add_interface() and we should skip creation here, but the check for modes was wrong. Fixing that makes AP mode work again. This shouldn't affect IPQ8074 nor QCN9074 as they have hw_params.vdev_start_delay disabled. 2021-02-22Revert "ath9k: fix ath_tx_process_buffer() potential null ptr dereference"Shuah Khan1-16/+12
This reverts commit a56c14bb21b296fb6d395164ab62ef2e419e5069. ath_tx_process_buffer() doesn't dereference or check sta and passes it to ath_tx_complete_aggr() and ath_tx_complete_buf(). ath_tx_complete_aggr() checks the pointer before use. No problem here. ath_tx_complete_buf() doesn't check or dereference sta and passes it on to ath_tx_complete(). ath_tx_complete() doesn't check or dereference sta, but assigns it to tx_info->status.status_driver_data[0] ath_tx_complete_buf() is called from ath_tx_complete_aggr() passing null ieee80211_sta pointer. There is a potential for dereference later on, if and when the tx_info->status.status_driver_data[0]is referenced. In addition, the rcu read lock might be released before referencing the contents. ath_tx_complete_buf() should be fixed to check sta perhaps? Worth looking into. Reverting this patch because it doesn't solve the problem and introduces memory leak by skipping buffer completion if the pointer (sta) is NULL. 2021-02-18mt76: fix tx skb error handling in mt76_dma_tx_queue_skbFelix Fietkau1-9/+6
When running out of room in the tx queue after calling drv->tx_prepare_skb, the buffer list will already have been modified on MT7615 and newer drivers. This can leak a DMA mapping and will show up as swiotlb allocation failures on x86. Fix this by moving the queue length check further up. This is less accurate, since it can overestimate the needed room in the queue on MT7615 and newer, but the difference is small enough to not matter in practice. 2021-02-18ath9k: fix transmitting to stations in dynamic SMPS modeFelix Fietkau2-1/+8
When transmitting to a receiver in dynamic SMPS mode, all transmissions that use multiple spatial streams need to be sent using CTS-to-self or RTS/CTS to give the receiver's extra chains some time to wake up. This fixes the tx rate getting stuck at <= MCS7 for some clients, especially Intel ones, which make aggressive use of SMPS. 2021-02-17ath11k: add qcn9074 pci device supportAnilkumar Kolli1-1/+17
QCN9074 is PCI based 11ax radio. - has 2G/5G/6G variants. - has NSS 2x2 and 4x4 variants. QCN9074 uses 45MB of HOST DDR memory, target requests host memory in segments, each segment is of 2MB size and is physcial contiguous and use static window configuration. Currently there are still two issues with QCN9074, see below. So we don't add QCN9074 PCI id yet to make sure the driver is loaded. The id will be added only after the issues are fixed. Issue 1: ath11k_pci 0000:06:00.0: qmi failed memory request, err = -110 ath11k_pci 0000:06:00.0: qmi failed to respond fw mem req:-110 Issue 2: ath11k_pci 0000:06:00.0: firmware crashed: MHI_CB_SYS_ERROR ath11k_pci 0000:06:00.0: qmi failed set mode request, mode: 0, err = -110 ath11k_pci 0000:06:00.0: qmi failed to send wlan fw mode:-110 Tested-on: QCN9074 hw1.0 PCI WLAN.HK.2.4.0.1.r2-00012-QCAHKSWPL_SILICONZ-1 Signed-off-by: Anilkumar Kolli <akolli@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/1612946530-28504-12-git-send-email-akolli@codeaurora.org

2021-02-12rtw88: add napi supportPo-Hao Huang3-24/+145
Use napi to reduce overhead on rx interrupts. Driver used to interrupt kernel for every Rx packet, this could affect both system and network performance. NAPI is a mechanism that uses polling when processing huge amount of traffic, by doing this the number of interrupts can be decreased. Network performance can also benefit from this patch. Since TCP connection is bidirectional and acks are required for every several packets. These ack packets occupie the PCI bus bandwidth and could lead to performance degradation. When napi is used, GRO receive is enabled by default in the mac80211 stack. So mac80211 won't pass every RX TCP packets to the kernel TCP network stack immediately. Instead an aggregated large length TCP packet will be delivered. This reduces the tx acks sent and gains rx performance. After the patch, the Rx throughput increases about 25Mbps in 11ac. 2021-02-12rtw88: add dynamic rrsr configurationPo-Hao Huang6-3/+74
Register rrsr determines the response rate we send. In field tests, using rate higher than current tx rate could lead to difficulty for the receiving end to receive management/control frames. 2021-02-12iwlwifi: remove incorrect comment in pnvmLuca Coelho1-5/+0
We use this driver as a backport that also runs on older kernels (as part of the backports project). So we use some checks to backport or prevent code from compiling in incompatible kernel version. When I took one of the PNVM patches from the backport, I accidentally left the comment that a certain part of the code doesn't work in older kernels. This obviously should never be valid for the mainline. Remove this comment. 2021-02-11wilc1000: Fix use of void pointer as a wrong struct typeVsevolod Kozlov3-9/+11
ac_classify() expects a struct sk_buff* as its second argument, which is a member of struct tx_complete_data. priv happens to be a pointer to struct tx_complete_data, so passing it directly to ac_classify() leads to wrong behaviour and occasional panics. Since there is only one caller of wilc_wlan_txq_add_net_pkt and it already knows the type behind this pointer, and the structure is already in the header file, change the function signature to use the real type instead of void* in order to prevent confusion.
