2020-08-02rt2x00: pci: use generic power managementVaibhav Gupta1-1/+1
Drivers using legacy PM have to manage PCI states and device's PM states themselves. They also need to take care of configuration registers. With improved and powerful support of generic PM, PCI Core takes care of above mentioned, device-independent, jobs. The callbacks make use of PCI helper functions like pci_save/restore_state(), pci_enable/disable_device() and pci_set_power_state() to do required operations. In generic mode, they are no longer needed. Change function parameter in both .suspend() and .resume() to "struct device*" type. Use dev_get_drvdata() to get drv data. The .suspend() callback is invoking rt2x00lib_suspend() which needs to be modified as generic rt2x00pci_suspend() has no pm_message_t type argument, passed to it, which is required by it according to its declaration. Although this variable remained unused in the function body. Hence, remove it from the function definition & declaration. rt2x00lib_suspend() is also invoked by rt2x00usb_suspend() and rt2x00soc_suspend(). Thus, modify the functional call accordingly in their function body. Earlier, .suspend() & .resume() were exported and were used by the following drivers: - drivers/net/wireless/ralink/rt2x00/rt2400pci.c - drivers/net/wireless/ralink/rt2x00/rt2500pci.c - drivers/net/wireless/ralink/rt2x00/rt2800pci.c - drivers/net/wireless/ralink/rt2x00/rt61pci.c Now, we only need to bind "struct dev_pm_ops" variable to "struct pci_driver". Thus, make the callbacks static. Declare an "extern const struct dev_pm_ops" variable and bind PM callbacks to it. Now, export the variable instead and use it in respective drivers. Compile-tested only. 2019-07-24rt2x00usb: remove unnecessary rx flag checksSoeren Moch1-6/+3
In contrast to the TX path, there is no need to separately read the transfer status from the device after receiving RX data. Consequently, there is no real STATUS_PENDING RX processing queue entry state. Remove the unnecessary ENTRY_DATA_STATUS_PENDING flag checks from the RX path. Also remove the misleading comment about reading RX status from device. 2019-07-15rt2x00usb: fix rx queue hangSoeren Moch1-6/+6
Since commit ed194d136769 ("usb: core: remove local_irq_save() around ->complete() handler") the handler rt2x00usb_interrupt_rxdone() is not running with interrupts disabled anymore. So this completion handler is not guaranteed to run completely before workqueue processing starts for the same queue entry. Be sure to set all other flags in the entry correctly before marking this entry ready for workqueue processing. This way we cannot miss error conditions that need to be signalled from the completion handler to the worker thread. Note that rt2x00usb_work_rxdone() processes all available entries, not only such for which queue_work() was called. This patch is similar to what commit df71c9cfceea ("rt2x00: fix order of entry flags modification") did for TX processing. This fixes a regression on a RT5370 based wifi stick in AP mode, which suddenly stopped data transmission after some period of heavy load. Also stopping the hanging hostapd resulted in the error message "ieee80211 phy0: rt2x00queue_flush_queue: Warning - Queue 14 failed to flush". Other operation modes are probably affected as well, this just was the used testcase. 2019-04-25rt2x00: check number of EPROTO errorsStanislaw Gruszka1-3/+19
Some USB host devices/drivers on some conditions can always return EPROTO error on submitted URBs. That can cause infinity loop in the rt2x00 driver. Since we can have single EPROTO errors we can not mark as device as removed to avoid infinity loop. However we can count consecutive EPROTO errors and mark device as removed if get lot of it. I choose number 10 as threshold. 2017-11-10rt2x00usb: mark device removed when get ENOENT usb errorStanislaw Gruszka1-3/+3
ENOENT usb error mean "specified interface or endpoint does not exist or is not enabled". Mark device not present when we encounter this error similar like we do with ENODEV error. Otherwise we can have infinite loop in rt2x00usb_work_rxdone(), because we remove and put again RX entries to the queue infinitely. We can have similar situation when submit urb will fail all the time with other error, so we need consider to limit number of entries processed by rxdone work. But for now, since the patch fixes reproducible soft lockup issue on single processor systems and taken ENOENT error meaning, let apply this fix. Patch adds additional ENOENT check not only in rx kick routine, but also on other places where we check for ENODEV error. 2017-02-07rt2x00: avoid introducing a USB dependency in the rt2x00lib moduleStanislaw Gruszka1-0/+5
As reported by Felix: Though protected by an ifdef, introducing an usb symbol dependency in the rt2x00lib module is a major inconvenience for distributions that package kernel modules split into individual packages. Get rid of this unnecessary dependency by calling the usb related function from a more suitable place. 2017-01-17rt2800: increase TX timeoutStanislaw Gruszka1-1/+1
When medium is busy or frames have to be resend, it takes time to send the frames and get TX status from hardware. For some really bad medium conditions it can take seconds. Patch change TX status timeout to give HW more time to provide it, however 500ms is not enough for bad conditions. In the future this timeout should be removed and replaced with proper watchdog mechanism. Increase flush timeout accordingly as well. 2016-04-06rt2x00usb: Use usb anchor to manage URBVishal Thanki1-2/+19
With current driver, it is observed that a URB is not completed while the USB disconnect is initiated. Due to that, the URB completion handler is trying to access the resource which was freed as a part of USB disconnect. Managing the URBs with anchor will make sure that all the URBs are handled gracefully before device gets disconnected.
