2015-08-18enic: add devcmd2Govindarajulu Varadarajan1-4/+21
devcmd is an interface for driver to communicate with fw/adaptor. It involves writing data to hardware registers and waiting for the result. This mechanism does not scale well. The queuing of "no wait" devcmds is done in firmware memory rather than on the host. Firmware memory is a rather more scarce and valuable resource than host memory. A devcmd storm from one vf can disrupt the service on other pf/vf. The lack of flow control allows for possible denial of server from one VM to another. Devcmd2 uses work queue to post the devcmds, just like tx work queue. This allows better flow control. Initialize devcmd2, if fails we fall back to devcmd1. Also change the driver version. 2015-08-18enic: use netdev_<foo> or dev_<foo> instead of pr_<foo>Govindarajulu Varadarajan1-2/+4
pr_info does not give any details about the interface involved. This patch uses netdev_info for printing the message. Use dev_info where netdev is not ready. Signed-off-by: Govindarajulu Varadarajan <_govind@gmx.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-12-31enic: make vnic_wq_buf doubly linkedGovindarajulu Varadarajan1-0/+3
This patch makes vnic_wq_buf doubly liked list. This is needed for dma_mapping error check, in case some frag's dma map fails, we need to move back and remove previously queued buffers. Signed-off-by: Govindarajulu Varadarajan <_govind@gmx.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-08-21drivers/net: enic: Adding support for Cisco Low Latency NICNeel Patel1-3/+0
This patch, - Adds new firmware commands for the new Cisco Low Latency NIC (aka. USNIC). Signed-off-by: Neel Patel <neepatel@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Nishank Trivedi <nistrive@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Christian Benvenuti <benve@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-02-01drivers/net: Remove unnecessary k.alloc/v.alloc OOM messagesJoe Perches1-3/+1
alloc failures use dump_stack so emitting an additional out-of-memory message is an unnecessary duplication. Remove the allocation failure messages. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-08-11enic: Move the Cisco driverJeff Kirsher1-0/+200
Move the Cisco driver into drivers/net/ethernet/cisco/ and make the necessary Kconfig and Makefile changes.
