That's bad, as, depending on the architecture, this has an undefined behavior. The BIT() macro is already prepared to handle this, so, let's just switch all "1 << number" macros by BIT(number) at the header files with has 1 << 31. 2019-06-05media: media/radio: set device_caps in struct video_deviceHans Verkuil1-7/+3
Instead of filling in the struct v4l2_capability device_caps field, fill in the struct video_device device_caps field. That way the V4L2 core knows what the capabilities of the video device are. But this only really works if all drivers use this, so convert all radio drivers in this patch. 2019-03-29media: wl128x: prevent two potential buffer overflowsDan Carpenter1-2/+5
Smatch marks skb->data as untrusted so it warns that "evt_hdr->dlen" can copy up to 255 bytes and we only have room for two bytes. Even if this comes from the firmware and we trust it, the new policy generally is just to fix it as kernel hardenning. I can't test this code so I tried to be very conservative. I considered not allowing "evt_hdr->dlen == 1" because it doesn't initialize the whole variable but in the end I decided to allow it and manually initialized "asic_id" and "asic_ver" to zero. 2017-09-23media: fix media Kconfig help syntax issuesHans Verkuil1-5/+5
The help text should be indented by at least two spaces after the 'help' separator. This is both good practice and the media_build system for building media drivers makes this assumption. I went through all Kconfigs under drivers/media and fixed any bad help sections. This makes it conform to the common practice and should fix problems with 'make menuconfig' when using media_build. This is due to a "WARNING" message that media_build can insert in the Kconfig and that assumes the help text is indented by at least two spaces. If not, then the Kconfig becomes invalid and 'make menuconfig' fails. It seems like a historic accident that these return unsigned char *, and in many places that means casts are required, more often than not. Due to the 80-cols restrictions, and latter due to checkpatch warnings, several strings were broken into multiple lines. This is not considered a good practice anymore, as it makes harder to grep for strings at the source code. As we're right now fixing other drivers due to KERN_CONT, we need to be able to identify what printk strings don't end with a "\n". It is a way easier to detect those if we don't break long lines. So, join those continuation lines. copy_to_user() must not be called with spinlocks held, but it is in fmc_transfer_rds_from_internal_buff(). The patch copies data to tmpbuf, releases spinlock and then passes it to userspace. By the way there is a small unification: replace a couple of hardcoded constants by a macro. Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org). 2013-01-25[media] radio: set vfl_dir correctly to fix modulator regressionHans Verkuil1-0/+10
The vfl_dir field should be set to indicate whether a device can receive data, output data or can do both. This is used to let the v4l core know which ioctls should be accepted and which can be refused. Unfortunately, when this field was added the radio modulator drivers were not updated: radio modulators transmit and so vfl_dir should be set to VFL_DIR_TX (or VFL_DIR_M2M in the special case of wl128x). Because of this omission it is not possible to call g/s_modulator for these drivers, which effectively renders them useless. This patch sets the correct vfl_dir value for these drivers, correcting this bug. Thanks to Paul Grinberg for bringing this to my attention. The option allows you to remove TTY and compile without errors. This saves space on systems that won't support TTY interfaces anyway. bloat-o-meter output is below. The bulk of this patch consists of Kconfig changes adding "depends on TTY" to various serial devices and similar drivers that require the TTY layer. Ideally, these dependencies would occur on a common intermediate symbol such as SERIO, but most drivers "select SERIO" rather than "depends on SERIO", and "select" does not respect dependencies. bloat-o-meter output comparing our previous minimal to new minimal by removing TTY.
