2023-08-21gpio: pca9570: fix kerneldocBartosz Golaszewski1-1/+1
While renaming one of the fields in the driver data struct, the kerneldoc was not updated which apparently angers the test robot now. Reported-by: kernel test robot <lkp@intel.com> Closes: https://lore.kernel.org/oe-kbuild-all/202308171538.nKKUOtbg-lkp@intel.com/ Fixes: a3f7c1d6ddcb ("gpio: pca9570: rename platform_data to chip_data") Signed-off-by: Bartosz Golaszewski <bartosz.golaszewski@linaro.org> Reviewed-by: Andy Shevchenko <andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com>
2023-05-23gpio: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. By convention platform_data refers to structures passed to drivers by code that registers devices. When talking about model-specific data structures associated with OF compatibles, we usually call them chip_data. In order to avoid confusion rename all mentions of platform_data to chip_data. Dialog semiconductors SLG7XL45106 is an 8-bit I2C GPO expander. The output port is controlled by a data byte with register address. Add a compatible string for the same. Also update the driver to write and read from it.
