2013-01-29powerpc/fsl: Remove CONFIG_IRQ_ALL_CPUS from mpc85xx/mpc86xx defconfigScott Wood1-1/+0
While this should be harmless now that distribute_irqs obeys MPIC_SINGLE_DEST_CPU, there's no reason to enable this on mpc85xx/mpc86xx since MPIC_SINGLE_DEST_CPU will always be set. Signed-off-by: Scott Wood <scottwood@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>
2012-09-12powerpc/85xx: introduce support for the Freescale / iVeia P1022RDKTimur Tabi1-0/+1
The Freescale / iVeia P1022RDK reference board is a small-factor board with a Freescale P1022 SOC. It includes: 1) 512 MB 64-bit DDR3-800 (max) memory 2) 8MB SPI serial flash memory for boot loader 3) Bootable 4-bit SD/MMC port 4) Two 10/100/1000 Ethernet connectors 5) One SATA port 6) Two USB ports 7) One PCIe x4 slot 8) DVI video connector 9) Audio input and output jacks, powered by a Wolfson WM8960 codec. Unlike the P1022DS, the P1022RDK does not have any localbus devices, presumably because of the localbus / DIU multiplexing restriction of the P1022 SOC. 2012-04-01ASoC: imx: merge sound/soc/imx into sound/soc/fslShawn Guo1-0/+1
Freescale PowerPC and ARM/IMX families share the same SSI IP block. The patch merges sound/soc/imx into sound/soc/fsl, so that the possible code sharing and consolidation can happen. This is a plain merge, except that menuconfig SND_POWERPC_SOC is added in Kconfig for PowerPC platform as a correspondence to SND_IMX_SOC for IMX platform. 2012-03-29powerpc/85xx: Enable I2C_CHARDEV and I2C_MPC options in defconfigsShaveta Leekha1-0/+1
Enable I2C char dev interface for user space testing of I2C controler. Enable the I2C driver on 64-bit builds (corenet64_smp_defconfig) as it was missing. Signed-off-by: Shaveta Leekha <shaveta@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2012-03-16powerpc/85xx: allow CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT to be selectableTimur Tabi1-0/+1
Remove the "select PHYS_64BIT" from the Kconfig entry for the P1022DS, so that large physical address support is a selectable option for non-CoreNet reference boards. The option is enabled in mpc85xx_[smp_]defconfig so that the default is unchanged. However, now it can be deselected. The P1022DS had this option defined because the default device tree for this board uses 36-bit addresses. This had the side-effect of forcing this option on for all boards that use mpc85xx_[smp_]defconfig. Some users may want to disable this feature to create an optimized configuration for boards with <= 2GB of RAM. 2011-09-23gpio: move mpc8xxx/512x gpio driver to drivers/gpioWolfram Sang1-1/+1
Move the driver to the place where it is expected to be nowadays. Also rename its CONFIG-name to match the rest and adapt the defconfigs. Finally, move selection of REQUIRE_GPIOLIB or WANTS_OPTIONAL_GPIOLIB to the platforms, because this option is per-platform and not per-driver. 2011-05-19powerpc/fsl: enable verbose bug outputScott Wood1-1/+0
This debug option has no overhead other than a slight increase in kernel size, and makes bug reports more useful. While some end users may prefer to save the space, as a default on a kernel config aimed primarily at development on reference boards, it should be enabled. 2011-03-30powerpc: Restore some misc devices to our configsStephen Rothwell1-0/+1
Uwe Kleine-König reported: while working on an defconfig (arm/mx27) I noticed that just updating it[1] results in removing CONFIG_EEPROM_AT24=y. The reason is that since commit v2.6.36-5965-g5f2365d (misc devices: do not enable by default) MISC_DEVICES isn't enabled anymore by default. So all defconfigs that have CONFIG_SOME_SYMBOL=y (or =m) (with SOME_SYMBOL depending on MISC_DEVICES) but not CONFIG_MISC_DEVICES=y suffer from the same problem. This restores those misc devices to the powerpc defconfigs. 2011-01-21kconfig: rename CONFIG_EMBEDDED to CONFIG_EXPERTDavid Rientjes1-1/+1
The meaning of CONFIG_EMBEDDED has long since been obsoleted; the option is used to configure any non-standard kernel with a much larger scope than only small devices. This patch renames the option to CONFIG_EXPERT in init/Kconfig and fixes references to the option throughout the kernel. A new CONFIG_EMBEDDED option is added that automatically selects CONFIG_EXPERT when enabled and can be used in the future to isolate options that should only be considered for embedded systems (RISC architectures, SLOB, etc). Calling the option "EXPERT" more accurately represents its intention: only expert users who understand the impact of the configuration changes they are making should enable it. 2010-10-15powerpc/85xx: add DIU support to the Freecale P1022DS reference boardTimur Tabi1-0/+3
The Freescale P1022DS has an on-chip video controller called the DIU, and a driver for this device already exists. Update the platform file for the P1022DS reference board to enable the driver, and update the defconfig for Freescale MPC85xx boards to add the driver. 2010-08-04powerpc/85xx: Introduce support for the Freescale P1022DS reference boardTimur Tabi1-22/+12
Introduce basic support for the Freescale P1022DS reference board, based on the Freescale BSP for this board. This patch excludes the DIU, SSI, and MMC/SD drivers. Only a 36-bit DTS is provided. Update mpc86xx_smp_defconfig and mpc85xx_defconfig to support the P1022DS. This means enabling 64-bit physical address support, increasing the maximum zone order to 12 (to allow the DIU driver to allocate large chunks), and clean up the audio options to disable the deprecated OSS support.
