2006-09-27[MIPS] Make get_frame_info() more readable.Franck Bui-Huu1-31/+36

2006-09-27[MIPS] dump_stack() based on prologue code analysisAtsushi Nemoto1-11/+55
Instead of dump all possible address in the stack, unwind the stack frame based on prologue code analysis, as like as get_wchan() does. While the code analysis might fail for some reason, there is a new kernel option "raw_show_trace" to disable this feature. 2006-04-01[PATCH] unexport get_wchanAdrian Bunk1-1/+0

2006-03-21[MIPS] Signal cleanupAtsushi Nemoto1-16/+0
Move function prototypes to asm/signal.h to detect trivial errors and add some __user tags to get rid of sparse warnings. Generated code should not be changed. Signed-off-by: Atsushi Nemoto <anemo@mba.ocn.ne.jp> Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
2006-02-14[MIPS] Rewrite get_wchan and its helper functions using kallsyms_lookup.Atsushi Nemoto1-81/+77
Implement get_wchan() and frame_info_init() using kallsyms_lookup(). This fixes problem with static sched/lock functions and mfinfo[] maintenance issue. If CONFIG_KALLSYMS was disabled, get_wchan() just returns thread_saved_pc() value. Also unwind stackframe based on "addiu sp,-imm" analysis instead of frame pointer. This fixes problem with functions compiled without -fomit-frame-pointer. Signed-off-by: Atsushi Nemoto <anemo@mba.ocn.ne.jp> Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>

2006-01-10MIPS: Namespace pollution: dump_regs() -> elf_dump_regs()Al Viro1-2/+2
dump_regs() is used by a bunch of drivers for their internal stuff; renamed mips instance (one that is seen in system-wide headers) to elf_dump_regs() Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk> Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
2005-11-09[PATCH] sched: disable preempt in idle tasksNick Piggin1-0/+2
Run idle threads with preempt disabled. Also corrected a bugs in arm26's cpu_idle (make it actually call schedule()). How did it ever work before? Might fix the CPU hotplugging hang which Nigel Cunningham noted. We think the bug hits if the idle thread is preempted after checking need_resched() and before going to sleep, then the CPU offlined. After calling stop_machine_run, the CPU eventually returns from preemption and into the idle thread and goes to sleep. The CPU will continue executing previous idle and have no chance to call play_dead. By disabling preemption until we are ready to explicitly schedule, this bug is fixed and the idle threads generally become more robust. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
