2020-02-19MIPS: configs: Cleanup old Kconfig optionsKrzysztof Kozlowski1-1/+0
CONFIG_MTD_NAND_IDS is gone and not needed (part of CONFIG_MTD_NAND) since commit f16bd7ca0457 ("mtd: nand: Kill the MTD_NAND_IDS Kconfig option"). CONFIG_IOSCHED_DEADLINE, CONFIG_IOSCHED_CFQ and CONFIG_DEFAULT_NOOP are gone since commit f382fb0bcef4 ("block: remove legacy IO schedulers"). The IOSCHED_DEADLINE was replaced by MQ_IOSCHED_DEADLINE and it will be now enabled by default (along with MQ_IOSCHED_KYBER). The BFQ_GROUP_IOSCHED is the only multiqueue scheduler which comes with group scheduling so select it in configs previously choosing CFQ_GROUP_IOSCHED. 2019-06-16net: sched: remove NET_CLS_IND config optionJiri Pirko1-1/+0
This config option makes only couple of lines optional. Two small helpers and an int in couple of cls structs. Remove the config option and always compile this in. This saves the user from unexpected surprises when he adds a filter with ingress device match which is silently ignored in case the config option is not set. Remove the CONFIG_UEVENT_HELPER_PATH because: 1. It is disabled since commit 1be01d4a5714 ("driver: base: Disable CONFIG_UEVENT_HELPER by default") as its dependency (UEVENT_HELPER) was made default to 'n', 2. It is not recommended (help message: "This should not be used today [...] creates a high system load") and was kept only for ancient userland, 3. Certain userland specifically requests it to be disabled (systemd README: "Legacy hotplug slows down the system and confuses udev"). 2019-04-06block: remove CONFIG_LBDAFChristoph Hellwig1-1/+0
Currently support for 64-bit sector_t and blkcnt_t is optional on 32-bit architectures. These types are required to support block device and/or file sizes larger than 2 TiB, and have generally defaulted to on for a long time. Enabling the option only increases the i386 tinyconfig size by 145 bytes, and many data structures already always use 64-bit values for their in-core and on-disk data structures anyway, so there should not be a large change in dynamic memory usage either. Dropping this option removes a somewhat weird non-default config that has cause various bugs or compiler warnings when actually used. 2011-01-21kconfig: rename CONFIG_EMBEDDED to CONFIG_EXPERTDavid Rientjes1-1/+1
The meaning of CONFIG_EMBEDDED has long since been obsoleted; the option is used to configure any non-standard kernel with a much larger scope than only small devices. This patch renames the option to CONFIG_EXPERT in init/Kconfig and fixes references to the option throughout the kernel. A new CONFIG_EMBEDDED option is added that automatically selects CONFIG_EXPERT when enabled and can be used in the future to isolate options that should only be considered for embedded systems (RISC architectures, SLOB, etc). Calling the option "EXPERT" more accurately represents its intention: only expert users who understand the impact of the configuration changes they are making should enable it. 2009-12-17MIPS: Fix and enhance built-in kernel command lineDmitri Vorobiev1-1/+1
Currently, MIPS kernels silently overwrite kernel command-line parameters hardcoded in CONFIG_CMDLINE by the ones received from firmware. Therefore, using firmware remains the only reliable method to transfer the command-line parameters, which is not always desirable or convenient, and the CONFIG_CMDLINE option is thereby effectively rendered useless. This patch fixes the problem described above and introduces a more flexible scheme of handling the kernel command line, in a manner identical to what is currently used for x86. The default behavior, i.e. when CONFIG_CMDLINE_BOOL is not defined, retains the existing semantics, and firmware command-line arguments override the hardcoded ones.
