2024-07-10csky: convert to generic syscall tableArnd Bergmann1-11/+3
The uapi/asm/unistd_32.h and asm/syscall_table_32.h headers can now be generated from scripts/syscall.tbl, which makes this consistent with the other architectures that have their own syscall.tbl. csky has two architecture specific system calls, which I add to the generic table. The time32, stat64 and rlimit entries in the syscall_abis_32 line are for system calls that were part of the generic ABI when arch/csky got added but are no longer enabled by default for new architectures. Both the user visible side of asm/unistd.h and the internal syscall table in the kernel should have the same effective contents after this. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
2024-07-10clone3: drop __ARCH_WANT_SYS_CLONE3 macroArnd Bergmann1-1/+0
When clone3() was introduced, it was not obvious how each architecture deals with setting up the stack and keeping the register contents in a fork()-like system call, so this was left for the architecture maintainers to implement, with __ARCH_WANT_SYS_CLONE3 defined by those that already implement it. Five years later, we still have a few architectures left that are missing clone3(), and the macro keeps getting in the way as it's fundamentally different from all the other __ARCH_WANT_SYS_* macros that are meant to provide backwards-compatibility with applications using older syscalls that are no longer provided by default. Address this by reversing the polarity of the macro, adding an __ARCH_BROKEN_SYS_CLONE3 macro to all architectures that don't already provide the syscall, and remove __ARCH_WANT_SYS_CLONE3 from all the other ones. 2024-06-25csky, hexagon: fix broken sys_sync_file_rangeArnd Bergmann1-0/+1
Both of these architectures require u64 function arguments to be passed in even/odd pairs of registers or stack slots, which in case of sync_file_range would result in a seven-argument system call that is not currently possible. The system call is therefore incompatible with all existing binaries. While it would be possible to implement support for seven arguments like on mips, it seems better to use a six-argument version, either with the normal argument order but misaligned as on most architectures or with the reordered sync_file_range2() calling conventions as on arm and powerpc. UAPI headers licensed under GPL are supposed to have exception "WITH Linux-syscall-note" so that they can be included into non-GPL user space application code. The exception note is missing in some UAPI headers. Some of them slipped in by the treewide conversion commit b24413180f56 ("License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license"). 2019-02-19asm-generic: Make time32 syscall numbers optionalArnd Bergmann1-0/+1
We don't want new architectures to even provide the old 32-bit time_t based system calls any more, or define the syscall number macros. Add a new __ARCH_WANT_TIME32_SYSCALLS macro that gets enabled for all existing 32-bit architectures using the generic system call table, so we don't change any current behavior. Since this symbol is evaluated in user space as well, we cannot use a Kconfig CONFIG_* macro but have to define it in uapi/asm/unistd.h. On 64-bit architectures, the same system call numbers mostly refer to the system calls we want to keep, as they already pass 64-bit time_t. 2019-02-19asm-generic: Drop getrlimit and setrlimit syscalls from default listYury Norov1-0/+1
The newer prlimit64 syscall provides all the functionality of getrlimit and setrlimit syscalls and adds the pid of target process, so future architectures won't need to include getrlimit and setrlimit. Therefore drop getrlimit and setrlimit syscalls from the generic syscall list unless __ARCH_WANT_SET_GET_RLIMIT is defined by the architecture's unistd.h prior to including asm-generic/unistd.h, and adjust all architectures using the generic syscall list to define it so that no in-tree architectures are affected.
