If FEAT_MTE2 is disabled via the arm64.nomte command line argument on a
CPU that claims to support FEAT_MTE2, the kernel will use Tagged Normal
in the MAIR. If we interpret arm64.nomte to mean that the CPU does not
in fact implement FEAT_MTE2, setting the system register like this may
lead to UNSPECIFIED behavior. Fix it by arranging for MAIR to be set
in the C function cpu_enable_mte which is called based on the sanitized
version of the system register.
There is no need for the rest of the MTE-related system register
initialization to happen from assembly, with the exception of TCR_EL1,
which must be set to include at least TBI1 because the secondary CPUs
access KASan-allocated data structures early. Therefore, make the TCR_EL1
initialization unconditional and move the rest of the initialization to
cpu_enable_mte so that we no longer have a dependency on the unsanitized
ID register value.

Currently when taking a SME access trap we allocate storage for the SVE
register state in order to be able to handle storage of streaming mode SVE.
Due to the original usage in a purely SVE context the SVE register state
allocation this also flushes the register state for SVE if storage was
already allocated but in the SME context this is not desirable. For a SME
access trap to be taken the task must not be in streaming mode so either
there already is SVE register state present for regular SVE mode which would
be corrupted or the task does not have TIF_SVE and the flush is redundant.
Fix this by adding a flag to sve_alloc() indicating if we are in a SVE
context and need to flush the state. Freshly allocated storage is always
zeroed either way.

On arm64, "rodata=full" has been suppored (but not documented) since
commit:
c55191e96caa9d78 ("arm64: mm: apply r/o permissions of VM areas to its linear alias as well")
As it's necessary to determine the rodata configuration early during
boot, arm64 has an early_param() handler for this, whereas init/main.c
has a __setup() handler which is run later.
Unfortunately, this split meant that since commit:
f9a40b0890658330 ("init/main.c: return 1 from handled __setup() functions")
... passing "rodata=full" would result in a spurious warning from the
__setup() handler (though RO permissions would be configured
appropriately).
Further, "rodata=full" has been broken since commit:
0d6ea3ac94ca77c5 ("lib/kstrtox.c: add "false"/"true" support to kstrtobool()")
... which caused strtobool() to parse "full" as false (in addition to
many other values not documented for the "rodata=" kernel parameter.
This patch fixes this breakage by:
* Moving the core parameter parser to an __early_param(), such that it
is available early.
* Adding an (optional) arch hook which arm64 can use to parse "full".
* Updating the documentation to mention that "full" is valid for arm64.
* Having the core parameter parser handle "on" and "off" explicitly,
such that any undocumented values (e.g. typos such as "ful") are
reported as errors rather than being silently accepted.
Note that __setup() and early_param() have opposite conventions for
their return values, where __setup() uses 1 to indicate a parameter was
handled and early_param() uses 0 to indicate a parameter was handled.

Quoting the 3e35142ef99fe ("kexec_file: drop weak attribute from
arch_kexec_apply_relocations[_add]") changelog:
: Since commit d1bcae833b32f1 ("ELF: Don't generate unused section symbols")
: [1], binutils (v2.36+) started dropping section symbols that it thought
: were unused. This isn't an issue in general, but with kexec_file.c, gcc
: is placing kexec_arch_apply_relocations[_add] into a separate
: .text.unlikely section and the section symbol ".text.unlikely" is being
: dropped. Due to this, recordmcount is unable to find a non-weak symbol in
: .text.unlikely to generate a relocation record against.

Drop __weak attribute from functions in kexec_file.c:
- arch_kexec_kernel_image_probe()
- arch_kimage_file_post_load_cleanup()
- arch_kexec_kernel_image_load()
- arch_kexec_locate_mem_hole()
- arch_kexec_kernel_verify_sig()
arch_kexec_kernel_image_load() calls into kexec_image_load_default(), so
drop the static attribute for the latter.
arch_kexec_kernel_verify_sig() is not overridden by any architecture, so
drop the __weak attribute.

[ This issue was fixed upstream by accident in c3cee924bd85 ("arm64:
head: cover entire kernel image in initial ID map") as part of a
large refactoring of the arm64 boot flow. This simple fix is therefore
preferred for -stable backporting ]
On a system that implements FEAT_EPAN, read/write access to the idmap
is denied because UXN is not set on the swapper PTEs. As a result,
idmap_kpti_install_ng_mappings panics the kernel when accessing
__idmap_kpti_flag. Fix it by setting UXN on these PTEs.

The layout of 'struct kvm_vcpu_arch' has evolved significantly since
the initial port of KVM/arm64, so remove the stale comment suggesting
that a prefix of the structure is used exclusively from assembly code.

has_vhe() expands to a compile-time constant when evaluated from the VHE
or nVHE code, alternatively checking a static key when called from
elsewhere in the kernel. On face value, this looks like a case of
premature optimization, but in fact this allows symbol references on
VHE-specific code paths to be dropped from the nVHE object.
Expand the comment in has_vhe() to make this clearer, hopefully
discouraging anybody from simplifying the code.

For both ID_AA64SMFR0_EL1.I16I64 and ID_AA64SMFR0_EL1.I8I32 we check for
the presence of the feature by looking for a specific ID value of 0x4 but
should instead be checking for the value 0xf defined by the architecture.
This had no practical effect since we are looking for values >= our define
and the only valid values in the architecture are 0b0000 and 0b1111 so we
would detect things appropriately with the architecture as it stands even
with the incorrect defines.

This patch introduces new helper and places it in new header.
The helper's purpose is to assign any Xen specific DMA ops in
a single place. For now, we deal with xen-swiotlb DMA ops only.
The one of the subsequent commits in current series will add
xen-grant DMA ops case.
Also re-use the xen_swiotlb_detect() check on Arm32.

Convert FAR_ELx to automatic register generation as per DDI0487H.a. In the
architecture these registers have a single field "named" as "Faulting
Virtual Address for synchronous exceptions taken to ELx" occupying the
entire register, in order to fit in with the requirement to describe the
contents of the register I have created a single field named ADDR.
No functional change.

Convert the CPACR system register definitions to be automatically generated
using the definitions in DDI0487H.a. The kernel does have some additional
definitions for subfields of SMEN, FPEN and ZEN which are not identified as
distinct subfields in the architecture so the definitions are not updated
as part of this patch.
No functional change.

With CONFIG_GENERIC_BUG_RELATIVE_POINTERS, the addr/file relative
pointers are calculated weirdly: based on the beginning of the bug_entry
struct address, rather than their respective pointer addresses.
Make the relative pointers less surprising to both humans and tools by
calculating them the normal way.

Now we use huge_ptep_get() to get the pte value of a hugetlb page,
however it will only return one specific pte value for the CONT-PTE
or CONT-PMD size hugetlb on ARM64 system, which can contain several
continuous pte or pmd entries with same page table attributes. And it
will not take into account the subpages' dirty or young bits of a
CONT-PTE/PMD size hugetlb page.
So the huge_ptep_get() is inconsistent with huge_ptep_get_and_clear(),
which already takes account the dirty or young bits for any subpages
in this CONT-PTE/PMD size hugetlb [1]. Meanwhile we can miss dirty or
young flags statistics for hugetlb pages with current huge_ptep_get(),
such as the gather_hugetlb_stats() function, and CONT-PTE/PMD hugetlb
monitoring with DAMON.
Thus define an ARM64 specific huge_ptep_get() implementation as well as
enabling __HAVE_ARCH_HUGE_PTEP_GET, that will take into account any
subpages' dirty or young bits for CONT-PTE/PMD size hugetlb page, for
those functions that want to check the dirty and young flags of a hugetlb
page.

Currently (as of DDI0487H.a) the architecture defines the vector length
control field in ZCR and SMCR as being 4 bits wide with an additional 5
bits reserved above it marked as RAZ/WI for future expansion. The kernel
currently attempts to anticipate such expansion by treating these extra
bits as part of the LEN field but this will be inconvenient when we start
generating the defines and would cause problems in the event that the
architecture goes a different direction with these fields. Let's instead
change the defines to reflect the currently defined architecture, we can
update in future as needed.
No change in behaviour should be seen in any system, even emulated systems
using the maximum allowed vector length for the current architecture.
