Pull ARM devicetree updates from Arnd Bergmann: "After a somewhat quiet 5.17 release, the size of the DT changes is a bit larger again. There are nine new SoC that get added, all of them related to existing platforms: - Airoha (formerly Mediatek/EcoNet) EN7523 networking SoC and EVB - Mediatek mt6582 tablet platform with the Prestigio PMT5008 3G tablet - Microchip Lan966 networking SoC and it evaluation board - Qualcomm Snapdragon 625/632 midrange phone SoCs, with the LG Nexus 5X and Fairphone FP3 phones - Renesas RZ/G2LC and RZ/V2L general-purpose embedded SoCs, along with their evaluation boards - Samsung Exynos 850 phone SoC and reference board - Samsung Exynos7885 with the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) phone - Tesla FSD (Fully Self-Driving), an automotive SoC loosely derived from the Samsung Exynos family. - TI K3/AM62 SoC and reference board Support for additional functionality in existing dts files is added all over the place: Samsung, Renesas, Mstar, wpcm450, OMAP, AT91, Allwinner, i.MX, Tegra, Aspeed, Oxnas, Qualcomm, Mediatek, and Broadcom. Samsung has a rework for its pinctrl schema that is a bit tricky and requires driver changes to be included here. A few more platforms only have smaller cleanups and DT Schema fixes, this includes SoCFPGA, ux500, ixp4xx, STi, Xilinx Zynq, LG, and Juno. Build Realtek Gigabit Ethernet driver as a module. Network cards based on chipsets this driver supports are ubiquitous both in regular PCIe as well as mini-PCIe and nowadays even various M.2 formats. It is therefore a suitable card to be used for any kind of PCIe and/or Gigabit Ethernet testing. As it is not designed in, just enabling it as a module seems most suitable. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/qcom/linux into arm/defconfigs Qualcomm ARM64 defconfig updates for v5.16 The major change here is the disabling of the firmware loades user space fallback, this is done as arm64 is the only platform with this flag enabled and as a result doesn't play nice with standard distributions. It then enables the new limits driver, which controls the hardware based thermal mitigation on a range of Qualcomm platforms. The prima/pronto WiFi and Bluetooth drivers are enabled to ensure these features works out of the box, now that the last details in the dts are landed. The new driver for acquiring sleep stats is enabled to facilitate the various efforts on getting these platforms into low power mode. Lastly the base SC7280 drivers needed to simply boot this platform are enabled. * tag 'qcom-arm64-defconfig-for-5.16' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/qcom/linux: arm64: defconfig: Enable Qualcomm LMH driver arm64: defconfig: Enable Qualcomm prima/pronto drivers arm64: defconfig: Enable Sleep stats driver arm64: defconfig: Enable QTI SC7280 pinctrl, gcc and interconnect arm64: defconfig: Disable firmware sysfs fallback Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20211026134953.1204327-1-bjorn.andersson@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>

With the introduction of LMH in '36c6581214c4 ("arm64: dts: qcom: sdm845: Add support for LMh node")' the CPUfreq gained a reference for the two interrupts from the LMh. This means that if the LMh driver isn't enabled CPUfreq will not probe and there's no frequency scaling. Enable LMh to make CPUfreq functional again on SDM845. 2021-10-15arm64: defconfig: Disable firmware sysfs fallbackBjorn Andersson1-1/+0
Part of the enablement of SDMA on the IMX platforms, '7f4e4afa140c ("arm64: defconfig: Enable SDMA on i.mx8mq/8mm")' also enabled CONFIG_FW_LOADER_USER_HELPER_FALLBACK, to allow "firmware loaded by udev". Unfortunately having the fallback enabled does, due to the 60 second timeout, essentially requiring userspace to provide a firmware loader. But systemd dropped the support for this interface back in 2014 and because arm64 is the only architecture that has this enabled, there doesn't seem to be any standard solution available. Examples of this problem can be found in e.g. the ath10k driver, which with a standard distro can take about 10 minutes before wlan0 appears. The alternative to this patch would be to change these drivers to use firmware_request_direct(), to avoid the sysfs fallback. But that would prevent other systems, such as Android, to rely on a userspace firmware loader to pick the firmware from a non-standard place, with just a custom defconfig. This patch therefor attempts to align the arm64 defconfig will all other architectures in the upstream kernel.
