2014-04-26ARM: orion: switch to a per-platform handle_irq() functionThomas Petazzoni1-0/+37
Moving to the Device Tree implies having CONFIG_MULTI_IRQ_HANDLER enabled, even for non-DT platforms (if we want both DT and non-DT platforms to be supported in a single kernel). However, the common CONFIG_MULTI_IRQ_HANDLER handler for non-DT platforms in plat-orion/irq.c doesn't match the needs of Orion5x. Also, it doesn't make much sense for orion_irq_init() to register the multi-IRQ handler: orion_irq_init() is called once for each IRQ cause/mask tuple, while the multi-IRQ handler only needs to be registered once. To solve this problem, we move the multi-IRQ handle in per-platform code: mach-kirkwood/irq.c and mach-dove/irq.c. The Orion5x variant will be introduced in a followup commit. Of course, this code will ultimately be completely removed once all boards are converted to the Device Tree. 2014-04-24bus: mvebu: pass the coherency availability information at init timeThomas Petazzoni1-1/+1
Until now, the mvebu-mbus was guessing by itself whether hardware I/O coherency was available or not by poking into the Device Tree to see if the coherency fabric Device Tree node was present or not. However, on some upcoming SoCs, the presence or absence of the coherency fabric DT node isn't sufficient: in CONFIG_SMP, the coherency can be enabled, but not in !CONFIG_SMP. In order to clean this up, the mvebu_mbus_dt_init() function is extended to get a boolean argument telling whether coherency is enabled or not. Therefore, the logic to decide whether coherency is available or not now belongs to the core SoC code instead of the mvebu-mbus driver itself, which is much better. In order to be able to move DT support into mach-mvebu, the DT code needs to be cleanly separated from common and pcie code. Import the needed bits of these files into board-dt.c. The "common" code then becomes purely legacy, supporting non-DT boards, so reflect this in the Makefile targets. While <mach/timex.h> isn't used for multi-platform builds since long it still is for "normal" builds. As the previous patches fix all sites to not make use of this per-platform file, it can go now for good also for platforms that are not (yet) converted to multi-platform. This results in kirkwood_tclk not being set and the boot message is now: Kirkwood: MV88F6281-A0, TCLK=0 This patch modifies the message for printing only the kirkwood id, as it allows to detect if we're running A0/A1/... variants with a simple dmesg. Ethernet IP on Kirkwood SoCs loose their MAC address register content if clock gated. To allow modular ethernet driver setups and gated clocks also on non-DT capable bootloaders, we fixup port device nodes with no valid MAC address property. This patch copies MAC address register contents set up by bootloaders early, notably before ethernet clocks are gated. While at it, also reorder call sequence in _dt_init. Implements standby support for Kirkwood SoC. When the SoC enters standby state the memory PM units are disabled, the DDR is set in self-refresh mode, and the CPU is set in WFI. 2013-10-01ARM: kirkwood: Remove kirkwood_setup_wins and rely on the DT bindingJason Gunthorpe1-1/+0
kirkwood_setup_wins is the last manual caller of mbus in kirkwood, don't call it for DT boards and rely on the DT having a mbus node with a proper ranges property to setup these windows. Move all the mbus ranges properties for all boards into kirkwood.dtsi, since they are currently all the same. This makes the DT self consistent, since the physical address of the NAND and CRYPTO are both referenced internally. The arbitary Linux constants KIRKWOOD_NAND_MEM_PHYS_BASE and KIRKWOOD_SRAM_PHYS_BASE no longer have to match the DT values.
