The 25 MHz reference clock has better stability so its use is prefered over the core clock. Change the Armada 375 clock initialization to use this reference clock. To ensure the driver is compatible with an old devicetree, also provide a fallback path which will silently return to the previous behavior. While here, add the clock specification to the binding documentation. Using the added infrastructure for handling SoC differences, this commit adds support for the watchdog controller available in Armada 370 and Armada XP SoCs. Also, and because the AXP clock initialization uses of_clk_get_by_name, this commit changes the orion clock initialization to use clk_get() and adds a proper clk_put() on the common exit/error paths. 2014-02-22watchdog: orion: Make RSTOUT register a separate resourceEzequiel Garcia1-2/+4
In order to support other SoC, it's required to distinguish the 'control' timer register, from the 'rstout' register that enables system reset on watchdog expiration. To prevent a compatibility break, this commit adds a fallback to a hardcoded RSTOUT address. 2014-02-22watchdog: orion: Handle the interrupt so it's properly ackedEzequiel Garcia1-0/+2
DT-enabled plaforms, where the irqchip driver for the brigde interrupt controller is available, can handle the watchdog IRQ properly. Therefore, request the interrupt and add a dummy handler that merely calls panic(). This is done in order to have an initial 'ack' of the interruption, which clears the watchdog state. Furthermore, since some platforms don't have such IRQ, this commit makes the interrupt specification optional. On CSR SiRFprimaII and SiRFatlasVI, the 6th timer can act as a watchdog timer when the Watchdog mode is enabled. watchdog occur when TIMER watchdog counter matches the value software pre-set, when this event occurs, the effect is the same as the system software reset. 2013-04-08ARM: sunxi: Rework the restart codeMaxime Ripard1-3/+3
The Allwinner sun6i (A31) has a slightly different watchdog, that doesn't allow to use the already existing restart code. Rework a bit the restart code to allow to plug in more easily different restart handlers depending on the device tree. In the past, we were also meaning sunxi as a generic name covering all Allwinner SoCs. This won't be true anymore with the A31 (sun6i) that differs pretty much from sun4i and sun5i, and we will end up having sunxi, for sun4i and sun5i, and sun6i, which is neither consistent nor convenient. 2012-10-26ARM: bcm2835: implement machine restart hookStephen Warren1-0/+13
Implement the machine restart hook using the SoC's watchdog timer module. To support this, define a DT binding for the watchdog module, and add it to the device tree. The downstream rpi-split branch contains a full watchdog timer driver implementation, which also implements the restart hook. However, the restart function is largely separate from the watchdog driver, so for simplicity, the restart hook is implemented here directly in the main machine source file. Overall structure (separate setup/restart) functions derived from the picoxcell ARM support. Watchdog register IO sequence taken from code by Simon Arlott.
