2015-07-24serial: 8250_omap: workaround module disable errata on dra7x SoCsSekhar Nori1-0/+1
Due to Advisory 21 as documented in AM437x errata document, UART module cannot be disabled once DMA is used. The only workaround is to softreset the module before disabling it. DRA7x UARTs are compatible to AM437x UARTs in terms of this errata and prescribed workaround. Enable usage of workaround for this errata on DRA7x SoCs. 2015-07-24serial: 8250_omap: introduce "ti,am3352-uart" compatible propertySekhar Nori1-0/+1
Use of of_machine_is_compatible() for handling AM335x specific "DMA kick" quirk in 8250_omap driver makes it ugly to extend the quirk for other platforms. Instead use a new compatible. The new compatible will also make it easier to take care of other quirks on AM335x and like SoCs. In order to not break backward DTB compatibility for users of 8250_omap driver on AM335x based boards, existing use of of_machine_is_compatible() has not been removed. 2015-03-17Documentation: DT: omap_serial: document missing properties and add an exampleMatt Porter1-0/+20
The omap_serial.txt binding documentation lacks a number of properties that are used in DTS files for platforms incorporating this peripheral. Fix this by documenting the missing required and optional fields and add an example. Signed-off-by: Matt Porter <mporter@konsulko.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2011-12-17omap-serial: Add minimal device tree supportRajendra Nayak1-0/+10
Adapt the driver to device tree and pass minimal platform data from device tree needed for console boot. No power management features will be suppported for now since it requires more tweaks around OCP settings to toggle forceidle/noidle/smartidle bits and handling remote wakeup and dynamic muxing.
