Seemingly I mis-implemented the dependencies here. The OpenSBI docs only
point out that the "riscv,event-to-mhpmcounters property is mandatory if
riscv,event-to-mhpmevent is present". It never claims that
riscv,event-to-mhpmcounters requires riscv,event-to-mhpmevent.
Drop the dependency of riscv,event-to-mhpmcounters on
riscv,event-to-mhpmevent.

The SBI PMU extension requires a firmware to be aware of the event to
counter/mhpmevent mappings supported by the hardware. OpenSBI may use
DeviceTree to describe the PMU mappings. This binding is currently
described in markdown in OpenSBI (since v1.0 in Dec 2021) & used by QEMU
since v7.2.0.
Import the binding for use while validating dtb dumps from QEMU and
upcoming hardware (eg JH7110 SoC) that will make use of the event
mapping.

intermediate YAML files. This decouples the validation from the

result of switching to DTB based validation which exposed some errors
and incomplete schemas and examples.

"There are three sets of updates for 5.18 in the asm-generic tree:
- The set_fs()/get_fs() infrastructure gets removed for good.
This was already gone from all major architectures, but now we can
finally remove it everywhere, which loses some particularly tricky
and error-prone code. There is a small merge conflict against a
parisc cleanup, the solution is to use their new version.
- The nds32 architecture ends its tenure in the Linux kernel.
The hardware is still used and the code is in reasonable shape, but
the mainline port is not actively maintained any more, as all
remaining users are thought to run vendor kernels that would never
be updated to a future release.

The nds32 architecture, also known as AndeStar V3, is a custom 32-bit
RISC target designed by Andes Technologies. Support was added to the
kernel in 2016 as the replacement RISC-V based V5 processors were
already announced, and maintained by (current or former) Andes
employees.
As explained by Alan Kao, new customers are now all using RISC-V,
and all known nds32 users are already on longterm stable kernels
provided by Andes, with no development work going into mainline
support any more.
While the port is still in a reasonably good shape, it only gets
worse over time without active maintainers, so it seems best
to remove it before it becomes unusable. As always, if it turns
out that there are mainline users after all, and they volunteer
to maintain the port in the future, the removal can be reverted.

The 'phandle-array' type is a bit ambiguous. It can be either just an
array of phandles or an array of phandles plus args. Many schemas for
phandle-array properties aren't clear in the schema which case applies
though the description usually describes it.
The array of phandles case boils down to needing:
items:
maxItems: 1
The phandle plus args cases should typically take this form:
items:
- items:
- description: A phandle
- description: 1st arg cell
- description: 2nd arg cell
With this change, some examples need updating so that the bracketing of
property values matches the schema.

If a property has an 'items' list, then a 'minItems' or 'maxItems' with the
same size as the list is redundant and can be dropped. Note that is DT
schema specific behavior and not standard json-schema behavior. The tooling
will fixup the final schema adding any unspecified minItems/maxItems.
This condition is partially checked with the meta-schema already, but
only if both 'minItems' and 'maxItems' are equal to the 'items' length.
An improved meta-schema is pending.

Document the requirements for the CMN-600 DT binding. The internal
topology is almost entirely discoverable by walking a tree of ID
registers, but sadly both the starting point for that walk and the
exact format of those registers are configuration-dependent and not
discoverable from some sane fixed location. Oh well.

DTSes with new i.MX 8M SoCs introduce their own compatibles so add them
to fix dtbs_check warnings like:
arch/arm64/boot/dts/freescale/imx8mm-evk.dt.yaml: ddr-pmu@3d800000:
compatible:0: 'fsl,imx8mm-ddr-pmu' is not one of ['fsl,imx8-ddr-pmu', 'fsl,imx8m-ddr-pmu', 'fsl,imx8mp-ddr-pmu']
From schema: Documentation/devicetree/bindings/perf/fsl-imx-ddr.yaml
arch/arm64/boot/dts/freescale/imx8mm-evk.dt.yaml: ddr-pmu@3d800000:
compatible: ['fsl,imx8mm-ddr-pmu', 'fsl,imx8m-ddr-pmu'] is too long

The arm-ccn driver is purely a perf driver for the CCN PMU, not a bus
driver in the sense of the other residents of drivers/bus/, so let's
move it to the appropriate place for SoC PMU drivers. Not to mention
moving the documentation accordingly as well.
