2015-12-18mtd: nand: update the documentation to reflect framework changesBoris BREZILLON1-16/+15
The MTD device is now directly embedded in the nand_chip struct. Update the mtdnand documentation to mention this aspect and fix the different examples. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com> Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <computersforpeace@gmail.com>
2015-11-19doc: mtd: nand: update examples to use mtd_to_nand()Boris BREZILLON1-2/+2
mtd_to_nand() has been introduced to hide accesses to mtd->priv. All NAND controller drivers should use it instead of directly accessing the ->priv field. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@free-electrons.com> Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <computersforpeace@gmail.com>

2013-11-07mtd: nand_bbt: kill NAND_BBT_SCANALLPAGESBrian Norris1-2/+0
Now that the last user of NAND_BBT_SCANALLPAGES has been removed, let's kill this peculiar BBT feature flag. Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <computersforpeace@gmail.com> Reviewed-by: Ezequiel Garcia <ezequiel.garcia@free-electrons.com> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <artem.bityutskiy@linux.intel.com>
2013-08-30mtd: nand: remove NAND_BBT_SCANEMPTYBrian Norris1-2/+0
NAND_BBT_SCANEMPTY is a strange, badly-supported option with omap as its single remaining user. NAND_BBT_SCANEMPTY was likely used by accident in omap2[1]. And anyway, omap2 doesn't scan the chip for bad blocks (courtesy of NAND_SKIP_BBTSCAN), and so its use of this option is irrelevant. This patch drops the NAND_BBT_SCANEMPTY option. 2012-05-14mtd: nand: kill NAND_NO_AUTOINCR optionBrian Norris1-2/+0
No drivers use auto-increment NAND, so kill the NO_AUTOINCR option entirely. Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <computersforpeace@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <artem.bityutskiy@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <David.Woodhouse@intel.com>

2011-09-11mtd: nand: rename NAND_USE_FLASH_BBTBrian Norris1-1/+1
Recall the recently added prefix requirements: * "NAND_" for flags in nand.h, used in nand_chip.options * "NAND_BBT_" for flags in bbm.h, used in nand_chip.bbt_options or in nand_bbt_descr.options Thus, I am changing NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT to NAND_BBT_USE_FLASH. Again, this flag is found in bbm.h and so should NOT be used in the "nand_chip.options" field. 2011-09-11mtd: nand: consolidate redundant flash-based BBT flagsBrian Norris1-4/+1
This patch works with the following three flags from two headers (nand.h and bbm.h): (1) NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT (nand.h) (2) NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT_NO_OOB (nand.h) (3) NAND_BBT_NO_OOB (bbm.h) These flags are all related and interdependent, yet they were in different headers. Flag (2) is simply the combination of (1) and (3) and can be eliminated. This patch accomplishes the following: * eliminate NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT_NO_OOB (i.e., flag (2)) * move NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT (i.e., flag (1)) to bbm.h It's important to note that because (1) and (3) are now both found in bbm.h, they should NOT be used in the "nand_chip.options" field. I removed a small section from the mtdnand DocBook because it referes to NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT in nand.h, which has been moved to bbm.h. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
