2019-12-12block: fix NULL pointer dereference in account statistics with IDELogan Gunthorpe1-2/+3
The IDE driver creates some passthru requests which never get submitted to the block layer in such a way that blk_account_io_start() gets called. However, the driver still calls __blk_mq_end_request() in ide_end_rq() which will call blk_account_io_completion() which tries to dereferences req->part which is never set. See ide_prep_sense() for an example of where these requests come from. To fix this, blk_account_io_completion() and blk_account_io_done() should do nothing if req->part is not set. 2019-12-12init: use do_mount() instead of ksys_mount()Dominik Brodowski3-16/+24
In prepare_namespace(), do_mount() can be used instead of ksys_mount() as the first and third argument are const strings in the kernel, the second and fourth argument are passed through anyway, and the fifth argument is NULL. In do_mount_root(), ksys_mount() is called with the first and third argument being already kernelspace strings, which do not need to be copied over from userspace to kernelspace (again). The second and fourth arguments are passed through to do_mount() anyway. The fifth argument, while already residing in kernelspace, needs to be put into a page of its own. Then, do_mount() can be used instead of ksys_mount(). Once this is done, there are no in-kernel users to ksys_mount() left, which can therefore be removed. 2019-12-12drm/i915/gem: Asynchronous cmdparserChris Wilson2-32/+99
Execute the cmdparser asynchronously as part of the submission pipeline. Using our dma-fences, we can schedule execution after an asynchronous piece of work, so we move the cmdparser out from under the struct_mutex inside execbuf as run it as part of the submission pipeline. The same security rules apply, we copy the user batch before validation and userspace cannot touch the validation shadow. The only caveat is that we will do request construction before we complete cmdparsing and so we cannot know the outcome of the validation step until later -- so the execbuf ioctl does not report -EINVAL directly, but we must cancel execution of the request and flag the error on the out-fence. 2019-12-12drm/i915/gem: Prepare gen7 cmdparser for async executionChris Wilson4-59/+127
The gen7 cmdparser is primarily a promotion-based system to allow access to additional registers beyond the HW validation, and allows fallback to normal execution of the user batch buffer if valid and requires chaining. In the next patch, we will do the cmdparser validation in the pipeline asynchronously and so at the point of request construction we will not know if we want to execute the privileged and validated batch, or the original user batch. The solution employed here is to execute both batches, one with raised privileges and one as normal. This is because the gen7 MI_BATCH_BUFFER_START command cannot change privilege level within a batch and must strictly use the current privilege level (or undefined behaviour kills the GPU). So in order to execute the original batch, we need a second non-priviledged batch buffer chain from the ring, i.e. we need to emit two batches for each user batch. Inside the two batches we determine which one should actually execute, we provide a conditional trampoline to call the original batch. Implementation-wise, we create a single buffer and write the shadow and the trampoline inside it at different offsets; and bind the buffer into both the kernel GGTT for the privileged execution of the shadow and into the user ppGTT for the non-privileged execution of the trampoline and original batch. One buffer, two batches and two vma. If we submit an unknown opcode and have fd == -1, io_op_needs_file() will return true as we default to needing a file. Then when we go and assign the file, we find the 'fd' invalid and return -EBADF. We really should be returning -EINVAL for that case, as we normally do for unsupported opcodes. Change io_op_needs_file() to have the following return values: 0 - does not need a file 1 - does need a file < 0 - error value and use this to pass back the right value for this invalid case.
