Currently ldo_pwr has the LDO25 voltage bits set to zero and then it is overwritten with the new voltage setting. 2020-05-18rtw88: extract: export symbols about pci interfaceZong-Zhe Yang1-5/+9
In the current design, chip entry points are built into the pci module. That makes the pci module depend on chips. According to dependence, once the pci module is loaded, kernel will load chip functionalities, including those that may not be currently used. We plan to split chip entry points from the pci module. Thence we export pci symbols that will be used in chip entry point modules. 2020-05-18rtw88: extract: export symbols used in chip functionalitiesZong-Zhe Yang8-0/+42
In the current design, various chip functions and tables are built into rtw88 core. That causes kernel to load its functionalities even if a chip isn't currently used. We plan to make each chip's functionalities a separate kernel module to reduce rtw88 core. And kernel will be able to load the necessary. Before extracting chip functionalities, we export symbols inside rtw88 core which will be used in chip modules. 2020-05-18rtlwifi: Fix a double free in _rtl_usb_tx_urb_setup()Dan Carpenter1-6/+2
Seven years ago we tried to fix a leak but actually introduced a double free instead. It was an understandable mistake because the code was a bit confusing and the free was done in the wrong place. The "skb" pointer is freed in both _rtl_usb_tx_urb_setup() and _rtl_usb_transmit(). The free belongs _rtl_usb_transmit() instead of _rtl_usb_tx_urb_setup() and I've cleaned the code up a bit to hopefully make it more clear. 2020-05-18ACPI: EC: PM: Avoid flushing EC work when EC GPE is inactiveRafael J. Wysocki2-12/+9
Flushing the EC work while suspended to idle when the EC GPE status is not set causes some EC wakeup events (notably power button and lid ones) to be missed after a series of spurious wakeups on the Dell XPS13 9360 in my office. If that happens, the machine cannot be woken up from suspend-to-idle by the power button or lid status change and it needs to be woken up in some other way (eg. by a key press). Flushing the EC work only after successful dispatching the EC GPE, which means that its status has been set, avoids the issue, so change the code in question accordingly. 2020-05-18ALSA: pcm: fix incorrect hw_base increaseBrent Lu1-0/+1
There is a corner case that ALSA keeps increasing the hw_ptr but DMA already stop working/updating the position for a long time. In following log we can see the position returned from DMA driver does not move at all but the hw_ptr got increased at some point of time so snd_pcm_avail() will return a large number which seems to be a buffer underrun event from user space program point of view. The program thinks there is space in the buffer and fill more data. As the hw_base increases, so does the hw_ptr increased by the same number. The avail value returned from snd_pcm_avail() could exceed the limit (buffer_size) easily becase the hw_ptr itself got increased by same buffer_size samples when the corner case happens. In following log, the buffer_size is 16368 samples but the avail is 21810 samples so CRAS server complains about it. Setting exfat's splice_write to iter_file_splice_write fixes this and lets fsx (which originally detected the problem) run to success from the xfstests harness. This code was using get_user_pages_fast(), in a "Case 2" scenario (DMA/RDMA), using the categorization from [1]. That means that it's time to convert the get_user_pages_fast() + put_page() calls to pin_user_pages_fast() + unpin_user_pages() calls. There is some helpful background in [2]: basically, this is a small part of fixing a long-standing disconnect between pinning pages, and file systems' use of those pages. Because large send requests can result in multiple mptcp_sendmsg_frag calls from mptcp_sendmsg, we may need to restart the socket lookup in case subflow can't accept more data or memory is low. Doing so blocks on the mptcp socket, and existing wait handling releases the msk lock while blocking. It seems preferrable to only wait in mptcp_sendmsg() when blocking io is requested. mptcp_sendmsg already has such a wait loop that is used when no subflow socket is available for transmission. This is another preparation patch that makes sure we call mptcp_sendmsg_frag only if the page frag cache has been refilled. Followup patch will remove the wait loop from mptcp_sendmsg_frag(). The retransmit worker doesn't need to do this refill as it won't transmit new mptcp-level data. 2020-05-17mptcp: avoid blocking in tcp_sendpagesFlorian Westphal1-3/+32
The transmit loop continues to xmit new data until an error is returned or all data was transmitted. For the blocking i/o case, this means that tcp_sendpages() may block on the subflow until more space becomes available, i.e. we end up sleeping with the mptcp socket lock held. Instead we should check if a different subflow is ready to be used. This restarts the subflow sk lookup when the tx operation succeeded and the tcp subflow can't accept more data or if tcp_sendpages indicates -EAGAIN on a blocking mptcp socket. In that case we also need to set the NOSPACE bit to make sure we get notified once memory becomes available. In case all subflows are busy, the existing logic will wait until a subflow is ready, releasing the mptcp socket lock while doing so. 2020-05-17mptcp: break and restart in case mptcp sndbuf is fullFlorian Westphal1-0/+36
Its not enough to check for available tcp send space. We also hold on to transmitted data for mptcp-level retransmits. Right now we will send more and more data if the peer can ack data at the tcp level fast enough, since that frees up tcp send buffer space. But we also need to check that data was acked and reclaimed at the mptcp level. Therefore add needed check in mptcp_sendmsg, flush tcp data and wait until more mptcp snd space becomes available if we are over the limit. Before we wait for more data, also make sure we start the retransmit timer if we ran out of sndbuf space. Otherwise there is a very small chance that we wait forever: * receiver is waiting for data * sender is blocked because mptcp socket buffer is full * at tcp level, all data was acked * mptcp-level snd_una was not updated, because last ack that acknowledged the last data packet carried an older MPTCP-ack. Restarting the retransmit timer avoids this problem: if TCP subflow is idle, data is retransmitted from the RTX queue. New data will make the peer send a new, updated MPTCP-Ack. Commit adb03115f459 ("net: get rid of an signed integer overflow in ip_idents_reserve()") used atomic_cmpxchg to replace "atomic_add_return" inside the function "ip_idents_reserve". The reason was to avoid UBSAN warning. However, this change has caused performance degrade and in GCC-8, fno-strict-overflow is now mapped to -fwrapv -fwrapv-pointer and signed integer overflow is now undefined by default at all optimization levels[1]. Moreover, it was a bug in UBSAN vs -fwrapv /-fno-strict-overflow, so Let's revert it safely. For nexthop groups, attributes after NHA_GROUP_TYPE are invalid, but nh_check_attr_group starts checking at NHA_GROUP. The group type defaults to multipath and the NHA_GROUP_TYPE is currently optional so this has slipped through so far. Fix the attribute checking to handle support of new group types. 2020-05-17exec: Move would_dump into flush_old_execEric W. Biederman1-2/+2
I goofed when I added mm->user_ns support to would_dump. I missed the fact that in the case of binfmt_loader, binfmt_em86, binfmt_misc, and binfmt_script bprm->file is reassigned. Which made the move of would_dump from setup_new_exec to __do_execve_file before exec_binprm incorrect as it can result in would_dump running on the script instead of the interpreter of the script. The net result is that the code stopped making unreadable interpreters undumpable. Which allows them to be ptraced and written to disk without special permissions. Oops. The move was necessary because the call in set_new_exec was after bprm->mm was no longer valid. To correct this mistake move the misplaced would_dump from __do_execve_file into flos_old_exec, before exec_mmap is called. I tested and confirmed that without this fix I can attach with gdb to a script with an unreadable interpreter, and with this fix I can not. 2020-05-17tpm: check event log version before reading final eventsLoïc Yhuel2-3/+7
This fixes the boot issues since 5.3 on several Dell models when the TPM is enabled. Depending on the exact grub binary, booting the kernel would freeze early, or just report an error parsing the final events log. We get an event log in the SHA-1 format, which doesn't have a tcg_efi_specid_event_head in the first event, and there is a final events table which doesn't match the crypto agile format. __calc_tpm2_event_size reads bad "count" and "efispecid->num_algs", and either fails, or loops long enough for the machine to be appear frozen. So we now only parse the final events table, which is per the spec always supposed to be in the crypto agile format, when we got a event log in this format. In gsi_channel_start() there is harmless-looking comment "Clear the channel's event ring interrupt in case it's pending". The intent was to avoid getting spurious interrupts when first bringing up a channel. However we now use channel stop/start to implement suspend and resume, and an interrupt pending at the time we resume is actually something we don't want to ignore. The very first time we bring up the channel we do not expect an interrupt to be pending, and even if it were, the effect would simply be to schedule NAPI on that channel, which would find nothing to do, which is not a problem. Stop clearing any pending IEOB interrupt in gsi_channel_start(). That leaves one caller of the trivial function gsi_isr_ieob_clear(). Get rid of that function and just open-code it in gsi_isr_ieob() instead. This fixes a problem where suspend/resume IPA v4.2 would get stuck when resuming after a suspend.
