2020-06-24IB/hfi1: Restore kfree in dummy_netdev cleanupDennis Dalessandro1-1/+1
We need to do some rework on the dummy netdev. Calling the free_netdev() would normally make sense, and that will be addressed in an upcoming patch. For now just revert the behavior to what it was before keeping the unused variable removal part of the patch. The dd->dumm_netdev is mainly used for packet receiving through alloc_netdev_mqs() for typical net devices. 2020-06-24ALSA: usb-audio: Fix OOB access of mixer element listTakashi Iwai3-7/+20
The USB-audio mixer code holds a linked list of usb_mixer_elem_list, and several operations are performed for each mixer element. A few of them (snd_usb_mixer_notify_id() and snd_usb_mixer_interrupt_v2()) assume each mixer element being a usb_mixer_elem_info object that is a subclass of usb_mixer_elem_list, cast via container_of() and access it members. This may result in an out-of-bound access when a non-standard list element has been added, as spotted by syzkaller recently. This patch adds a new field, is_std_info, in usb_mixer_elem_list to indicate that the element is the usb_mixer_elem_info type or not, and skip the access to such an element if needed. 2020-06-24net: phylink: ensure manual pause mode configuration takes effectRussell King1-5/+22
We have been relying on link events and mac_config() when the manual pause modes are changed. With recent developments, such as moving the programming of link state to mac_link_up(), this no longer works. To ensure that we update the MAC, we must generate a link-down followed by a link-up event; we can do that by setting mac_link_dropped and triggering a resolve. 2020-06-24net: Do not clear the sock TX queue in sk_set_socket()Tariq Toukan2-1/+2
Clearing the sock TX queue in sk_set_socket() might cause unexpected out-of-order transmit when called from sock_orphan(), as outstanding packets can pick a different TX queue and bypass the ones already queued. This is undesired in general. More specifically, it breaks the in-order scheduling property guarantee for device-offloaded TLS sockets. Remove the call to sk_tx_queue_clear() in sk_set_socket(), and add it explicitly only where needed. 2020-06-24selftests/net: plug rxtimestamp test into kselftest frameworktannerlove3-2/+14
Run rxtimestamp as part of TEST_PROGS. Analogous to other tests, add new rxtimestamp.sh wrapper script, so that the test runs isolated from background traffic in a private network namespace. Also ignore failures of test case #6 by default. This case verifies that a receive timestamp is not reported if timestamp reporting is enabled for a socket, but generation is disabled. Receive timestamp generation has to be enabled globally, as no associated socket is known yet. A background process that enables rx timestamp generation therefore causes a false positive. Ntpd is one example that does. Add a "--strict" option to cause failure in the event that any test case fails, including test #6. This is useful for environments that are known to not have such background processes. 2020-06-24net: phy: Allow mdio buses to auto-probe c45 devicesJeremy Linton2-2/+24
The mdiobus_scan logic is currently hardcoded to only work with c22 devices. This works fairly well in most cases, but its possible that a c45 device doesn't respond despite being a standard phy. If the parent hardware is capable, it makes sense to scan for c22 devices before falling back to c45. As we want this to reflect the capabilities of the STA, lets add a field to the mii_bus structure to represent the capability. That way devices can opt into the extended scanning. Existing users should continue to default to c22 only scanning as long as they are zero'ing the structure before use. With legacy PM hooks, it was the responsibility of a driver to manage PCI states and also the device's power state. The generic approach is to let the PCI core handle the work. The legacy suspend() and resume() were making use of pci_read/write_config_dword() to enable/disable wol. Driver editing configuration registers of a device is not recommended. 2020-06-24bnxt_en: Fix statistics counters issue during ifdown with older firmware.Michael Chan1-1/+7
On older firmware, the hardware statistics are not cleared when the driver frees the hardware stats contexts during ifdown. The driver expects these stats to be cleared and saves a copy before freeing the stats contexts. During the next ifup, the driver will likely allocate the same hardware stats contexts and this will cause a big increase in the counters as the old counters are added back to the saved counters. We fix it by making an additional firmware call to clear the counters before freeing the hw stats contexts when the firmware is the older 20.x firmware. 2020-06-24tracing/boottime: Fix kprobe multiple eventsSascha Ortmann1-2/+6
Fix boottime kprobe events to report and abort after each failure when adding probes. As an example, when we try to set multiprobe kprobe events in bootconfig like this: ftrace.event.kprobes.vfsevents { probes = "vfs_read $arg1 $arg2,, !error! not reported;?", // leads to error "vfs_write $arg1 $arg2" } This will not work as expected. After commit da0f1f4167e3af69e ("tracing/boottime: Fix kprobe event API usage"), the function trace_boot_add_kprobe_event will not produce any error message when adding a probe fails at kprobe_event_gen_cmd_start. Furthermore, we continue to add probes when kprobe_event_gen_cmd_end fails (and kprobe_event_gen_cmd_start did not fail). In this case the function even returns successfully when the last call to kprobe_event_gen_cmd_end is successful. The behaviour of reporting and aborting after failures is not consistent. The function trace_boot_add_kprobe_event now reports each failure and stops adding probes immediately. 2020-06-24erofs: fix partially uninitialized misuse in z_erofs_onlinepage_fixupGao Xiang1-10/+10
Hongyu reported "id != index" in z_erofs_onlinepage_fixup() with specific aarch64 environment easily, which wasn't shown before. After digging into that, I found that high 32 bits of page->private was set to 0xaaaaaaaa rather than 0 (due to z_erofs_onlinepage_init behavior with specific compiler options). Actually we only use low 32 bits to keep the page information since page->private is only 4 bytes on most 32-bit platforms. However z_erofs_onlinepage_fixup() uses the upper 32 bits by mistake. Let's fix it now. 2020-06-24bonding/xfrm: use real_dev instead of slave_devJarod Wilson5-49/+21
Rather than requiring every hw crypto capable NIC driver to do a check for slave_dev being set, set real_dev in the xfrm layer and xso init time, and then override it in the bonding driver as needed. Then NIC drivers can always use real_dev, and at the same time, we eliminate the use of a variable name that probably shouldn't have been used in the first place, particularly given recent current events.
