2020-07-10virt: vbox: Fix VBGL_IOCTL_VMMDEV_REQUEST_BIG and _LOG req numbers to match ↵Hans de Goede4-4/+22
upstream Until this commit the mainline kernel version (this version) of the vboxguest module contained a bug where it defined VBGL_IOCTL_VMMDEV_REQUEST_BIG and VBGL_IOCTL_LOG using _IOC(_IOC_READ | _IOC_WRITE, 'V', ...) instead of _IO(V, ...) as the out of tree VirtualBox upstream version does. Since the VirtualBox userspace bits are always built against VirtualBox upstream's headers, this means that so far the mainline kernel version of the vboxguest module has been failing these 2 ioctls with -ENOTTY. I guess that VBGL_IOCTL_VMMDEV_REQUEST_BIG is never used causing us to not hit that one and sofar the vboxguest driver has failed to actually log any log messages passed it through VBGL_IOCTL_LOG. This commit changes the VBGL_IOCTL_VMMDEV_REQUEST_BIG and VBGL_IOCTL_LOG defines to match the out of tree VirtualBox upstream vboxguest version, while keeping compatibility with the old wrong request defines so as to not break the kernel ABI in case someone has been using the old request defines. 2020-07-03uio: disable lazy irq disable to avoid double fireThommy Jakobsson2-0/+37
uio_pdrv_genirq and uio_dmem_genirq interrupts are handled in userspace. So the condition for the interrupt hasn't normally not been cleared when top half returns. disable_irq_nosync is called in top half, but since that normally is lazy the irq isn't actually disabled. For level triggered interrupts this will always result in a spurious additional fire since the level in to the interrupt controller still is active. The actual interrupt handler isn't run though since this spurious irq is just recorded, and later on discared (for level). This commit disables lazy masking for level triggered interrupts. It leaves edge triggered interrupts as before, because they work with the lazy scheme. All other UIO drivers already seem to clear the interrupt cause at driver levels. Example of double fire. First goes all the way up to uio_pdrv_genirq_handler, second is terminated in handle_fasteoi_irq and marked as pending. <idle>-0 [000] d... 8.245870: gic_handle_irq: irq 29 <idle>-0 [000] d.h. 8.245873: uio_pdrv_genirq_handler: disable irq 29 <idle>-0 [000] d... 8.245878: gic_handle_irq: irq 29 <idle>-0 [000] d.h. 8.245880: handle_fasteoi_irq: irq 29 PENDING HInt-34 [001] d... 8.245897: uio_pdrv_genirq_irqcontrol: enable irq 29 Tested on 5.7rc2 using uio_pdrv_genirq and a custom Xilinx MPSoC board. 2020-07-03uio_pdrv_genirq: Allow use with non-page-aligned memory resourcesEsben Haabendal1-2/+4
Similar to the changes made in 270579d95f82 ("uio_mf624: Align memory regions to page size and set correct offsets"), this will allow uio_pdrv_genirq devices to expose memory regions that is not page-aligned, requiring the users to respect the offset sysfs attribute (as implemented in libuio). 2020-07-03uio_pdrv_genirq: fix use without device tree and no interruptEsben Haabendal1-1/+1
While e3a3c3a20555 ("UIO: fix uio_pdrv_genirq with device tree but no interrupt") added support for using uio_pdrv_genirq for devices without interrupt for device tree platforms, the removal of uio_pdrv in 26dac3c49d56 ("uio: Remove uio_pdrv and use uio_pdrv_genirq instead") broke the support for non device tree platforms. This change fixes this, so that uio_pdrv_genirq can be used without interrupt on all platforms. This still leaves the support that uio_pdrv had for custom interrupt handler lacking, as uio_pdrv_genirq does not handle it (yet). 2020-07-01coresight: etmv4: Fix CPU power management setup in probe() functionMike Leach1-29/+53
The current probe() function calls a pair of cpuhp_xxx API functions to setup CPU hotplug handling. The hotplug lock is held for the duration of the two calls and other CPU related code using cpus_read_lock() / cpus_read_unlock() calls. The problem is that on error states, goto: statements bypass the cpus_read_unlock() call. This code has increased in complexity as the driver has developed. This patch introduces a pair of helper functions etm4_pm_setup_cpuslocked() and etm4_pm_clear() which correct the issues above and group the PM code a little better. The two functions etm4_cpu_pm_register() and etm4_cpu_pm_unregister() are dropped as these call cpu_pm_register_notifier() / ..unregister_notifier() dependent on CONFIG_CPU_PM - but this define is used to nop these functions out in the pm headers - so the wrapper functions are superfluous. Fixes: f188b5e76aae ("coresight: etm4x: Save/restore state across CPU low power states") Fixes: e9f5d63f84fe ("hwtracing/coresight-etm4x: Use cpuhp_setup_state_nocalls_cpuslocked()") Fixes: 58eb457be028 ("hwtracing/coresight-etm4x: Convert to hotplug state machine") Signed-off-by: Mike Leach <mike.leach@linaro.org> Cc: stable <stable@vger.kernel.org> Reviewed-by: Mathieu Poirier <mathieu.poirier@linaro.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20200701160852.2782823-3-mathieu.poirier@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2020-07-01coresight: cti: Fix error handling in probeDan Carpenter1-42/+54
There were a couple problems with error handling in the probe function: 1) If the "drvdata" allocation failed then it lead to a NULL dereference. 2) On several error paths we decremented "nr_cti_cpu" before it was incremented which lead to a reference counting bug. There were also some parts of the error handling which were not bugs but were messy. The error handling was confusing to read. It printed some unnecessary error messages. The simplest way to fix these problems was to create a cti_pm_setup() function that did all the power management setup in one go. That way when we call cti_pm_release() we don't have to deal with the complications of a partially configured power management config. I reversed the "if (drvdata->ctidev.cpu >= 0)" condition in cti_pm_release() so that it mirros the new cti_pm_setup() function. 'read_size' appears to have been assigned, but never used since the SCIF messaging and node enumeration APIs were introduced in 2015. Makes sense to simply remove it. Fixes the following W=1 warning: drivers/misc/mic/scif/scif_api.c: In function ‘_scif_recv’: drivers/misc/mic/scif/scif_api.c:1000:6: warning: variable ‘read_size’ set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable] 1000 | int read_size; | ^~~~~~~~~ Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20200701083118.45744-19-lee.jones@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2020-07-01misc: mic: cosm: cosm_debugfs: Demote function headers from kerneldocLee Jones1-2/+2
The correct format is not used and no attempt has been made to document the function arguments. Makes sense to just demote the header back down to a simple comment. __scif_get_port() has never taken 'port' as an argument since its inception back in 2015. Probably document the proper arguments expected 'start' and 'end'. Fixes the following W=1 kernel build warnings: drivers/misc/mic/scif/scif_ports.c:36: warning: Function parameter or member 'start' not described in '__scif_get_port drivers/misc/mic/scif/scif_ports.c:36: warning: Function parameter or member 'end' not described in '__scif_get_port' drivers/misc/mic/scif/scif_ports.c:36: warning: Excess function parameter 'port' description in '__scif_get_port' Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20200701083118.45744-17-lee.jones@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
