This patch adds a check to the directory items read from the disk that does a bounds check on deh_location for the directory entries. Any directory entry header with a directory entry offset greater than the item length is considered invalid. The problem was in incorrect journal 1st block. Syzbot's reproducer manualy generated wrong superblock with incorrect 1st block. In journal_init() wasn't any checks about this particular case. For example, if 1st journal block is before superblock 1st block, it can cause zeroing important superblock members in do_journal_end(). I recently receive a patch to explicitly add a new one. Let's do treewide cleanups, otherwise some people follow the existing code and attempt to upstream their favoriate editor setups. It is even nicer if scripts/checkpatch.pl can check it. If we like to impose coding style in an editor-independent manner, I think editorconfig (patch [1]) is a saner solution.
