.TH MCPU-NM 1 "October 2026" "LibMCPU" "User Commands" .SH NAME mcpu-nm \- list symbols from MCPU MELF files and archives .SH SYNOPSIS .B mcpu-nm .RI [ options ] " MELF-file(s)" .SH DESCRIPTION .B mcpu-nm lists symbols from MELF ET_REL objects, ET_EXEC executables, ET_DYN shared objects and deterministic MCPU static archives. By default it reads .symtab and sorts symbols by name. For ABI-v2/v3 runtime symbols use .BR -D . .SH OPTIONS .TP .BR -a ", " --debug-syms Display all named symbols, including FILE and SECTION symbols. .TP .BR -g ", " --extern-only Display only external GLOBAL and WEAK symbols. .TP .BR -u ", " --undefined-only Display only undefined symbols. .TP .BR -n ", " --numeric-sort Sort symbols numerically by value. .TP .BR -r ", " --reverse-sort Reverse the selected sort order. .TP .BR -p ", " --no-sort Preserve symbol-table order. .TP .BR -D ", " --dynamic Read .dynsym instead of .symtab. .TP .BR -A ", " --print-file-name Prefix each output line with the input file name. Archive output identifies the archive and member. .TP .B --help Display help and exit. .TP .B --version Display the program name, MCPU toolchain identity and version, then exit. .TP .B --dump-version Display only the MCPU package version number and exit. .SH SYMBOL TYPE LETTERS As with traditional nm output, upper-case type letters identify external symbols and lower-case letters local symbols. The letter also reflects the MCPU section class, for example T/t for PROGRAM text and D/d for DATA. .SH EXIT STATUS Zero on successful inspection; nonzero for inaccessible or malformed input. .SH EXAMPLES .nf mcpu-nm file.o mcpu-nm -n file.o mcpu-nm -D libfoo.so.1 mcpu-nm -A -D -g libfoo.so.1 mcpu-nm -A libsimple.a .fi .SH SEE ALSO .BR mcpu-readelf (1), .BR mcpu-objdump (1), .BR libmcpu (7)
