From 22ce85611fd5a793edf84bfc0a101077cbe85e4f Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Colin Ian King Date: Sun, 24 May 2020 23:48:02 +0100 Subject: orangefs: remove redundant assignment to variable ret The variable ret is being initialized with a value that is never read and it is being updated later with a new value. The initialization is redundant and can be removed. That means that it's time to convert the get_user_pages*() + put_page() calls to pin_user_pages*() + unpin_user_pages() calls. There is some helpful background in [2]: basically, this is a small part of fixing a long-standing disconnect between pinning pages, and file systems' use of those pages.
