This patch does the following - turn down a couple of messages that were meant to be debug and are causing much confusion - ensure the hotplug interrupt is disabled on Cedartrail systems. - fix a bug where gtt roll mode called psbfb_sync, which tries to sync the 2D engine. In particular, the delivery system is reset to 0 (which is an invalid value) so the driver stops working as soon as a DVBv3 application calls the get_frontend function, giving this error: dvb_frontend_ioctl_legacy: doesn't know how to handle a DVBv3 call to delivery system 0 This patch eliminates the unused internal copy of the dtv_frontend_properties struct, and gives a proper implementation of the get_frontend function. The original author of the patch is Panagiotis Malakoudis, who also tested this new version on Ubuntu 11.10 with the latest media_build tree installed. The original patch has been used on MIPS set-top-boxes for over one year, but it was never posted on the linux-media list. I ported the code to the current media_build tree (converting it to use the dtv_frontend_properties struct) and added basic support for ISDB-T (untested). Wysocki" Date: Fri, 9 Mar 2012 12:59:44 +0900 Subject: sh-sci / PM: Avoid deadlocking runtime PM The runtime PM of sh-sci devices is enabled when sci_probe() returns, so the pm_runtime_put_sync() executed by driver_probe_device() attempts to suspend the device. Then, in some situations, a diagnostic message is printed to the console by one of the runtime suspend routines handling the sh-sci device, which causes synchronous runtime resume to be started from the device's own runtime suspend callback. This causes rpm_resume() to be run eventually, which sees the RPM_SUSPENDING status set by rpm_suspend() and waits for it to change. However, the device's runtime PM status cannot change at that point, because the routine that has set it waits for the rpm_suspend() to return. A deadlock occurs as a result. To avoid that make sci_init_single() increment the device's runtime PM usage counter, so that it cannot be suspended by driver_probe_device(). That counter has to be decremented eventually, so make sci_startup() do that before starting to actually use the device and make sci_shutdown() increment it again before returning to balance the incrementation carried out by sci_startup(). Since ideapad-laptop also register rfkill for wifi and it works reliably, it will be fine acer-wmi is not going to register rfkill for wifi once VPC2004 is found. Also put IBM0068/LEN0068 in the list. Though thinkpad_acpi has no wifi rfkill capability, there are reports which says acer-wmi also block wireless on Thinkpad E520/E420. After that we drop mutex and then cancel delayed works. There is possibility, that after drooping mutex and before the cancel, some delayed work will start and crash while trying to send commands to the device. That can be easily reproduced with modified tx queue entry_num to some small value e.g. 16. If mac80211 already hold local->queue_stop_reason_lock, then we can wait on that lock in both rt2x00queue_pause_queue() and rt2x00queue_unpause_queue(). After drooping ->queue_stop_reason_lock is possible that __ieee80211_wake_queue() will be performed before __ieee80211_stop_queue(), hence we stop queue and newer wake up it again. Another race condition is possible when between rt2x00queue_threshold() check and rt2x00queue_pause_queue() we will process all pending tx buffers on different cpu. This might happen if for example interrupt will be triggered on cpu performing rt2x00mac_tx(). To prevent race conditions serialize pause/unpause by queue->tx_lock. But this will never happen for persistent device, because it's socket holds network namespace. The problem occured with the change to return -EBUSY from transport_generic_cmd_sequencer() -> transport_generic_allocate_tasks() failures, that broke iscsit_handle_scsi_cmd() checking for -EINVAL in order to invoke a non GOOD status response. This was manifesting itself as data corruption with legacy SPC-2 reservations, but also effects iscsi-target LUNs with SPC-3 persistent reservations.
