From 57f4959bad0a154aeca125b7d38d1d9471a12422 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: James Morse Date: Fri, 5 Feb 2016 14:58:48 +0000 Subject: arm64: kernel: Add support for User Access Override 'User Access Override' is a new ARMv8.2 feature which allows the unprivileged load and store instructions to be overridden to behave in the normal way. This patch converts {get,put}_user() and friends to use ldtr*/sttr* instructions - so that they can only access EL0 memory, then enables UAO when fs==KERNEL_DS so that these functions can access kernel memory. This allows user space's read/write permissions to be checked against the page tables, instead of testing addr [catalin.marinas@arm.com: move uao_thread_switch() above dsb()] Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas --- arch/arm64/include/asm/cpufeature.h | 3 ++- 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) (limited to 'arch/arm64/include/asm/cpufeature.h') diff --git a/arch/arm64/include/asm/cpufeature.h b/arch/arm64/include/asm/cpufeature.h index 8131abfabb0a..a5df7cde616b 100644 --- a/arch/arm64/include/asm/cpufeature.h +++ b/arch/arm64/include/asm/cpufeature.h @@ -31,8 +31,9 @@ #define ARM64_WORKAROUND_CAVIUM_23154 6 #define ARM64_WORKAROUND_834220 7 #define ARM64_HAS_NO_HW_PREFETCH 8 +#define ARM64_HAS_UAO 9 -#define ARM64_NCAPS 9 +#define ARM64_NCAPS 10 #ifndef __ASSEMBLY__ -- cgit v1.2.3
