2021-05-14selftests: net: mirror_gre_vlan_bridge_1q: Make an FDB entry staticPetr Machata1-1/+1
[ Upstream commit c8d0260cdd96fdccdef0509c4160e28a1012a5d7 ] The FDB roaming test installs a destination MAC address on the wrong interface of an FDB database and tests whether the mirroring fails, because packets are sent to the wrong port. The test by mistake installs the FDB entry as local. This worked previously, because drivers were notified of local FDB entries in the same way as of static entries. However that has been fixed in the commit 6ab4c3117aec ("net: bridge: don't notify switchdev for local FDB addresses"), and local entries are not notified anymore. As a result, the HW is not reconfigured for the FDB roam, and mirroring keeps working, failing the test. To fix the issue, mark the FDB entry as static. [ Upstream commit d2126838050ccd1dadf310ffb78b2204f3b032b9 ] the following command: # tc filter add dev $h2 ingress protocol ip pref 1 handle 101 flower \ $tcflags dst_ip 192.0.2.2 ip_ttl 63 action drop doesn't drop all IPv4 packets that match the configured TTL / destination address. In particular, if "fragment offset" or "more fragments" have non zero value in the IPv4 header, setting of FLOW_DISSECTOR_KEY_IP is simply ignored. Fix this dissecting IPv4 TTL and TOS before fragment info; while at it, add a selftest for tc flower's match on 'ip_ttl' that verifies the correct behavior. Based on the description of __INET_ECN_decapsulate, the final decapsulate value should be ECT(1). So fix the test expect value to 0x01. 2021-03-17selftests: forwarding: Fix race condition in mirror installationDanielle Ratson1-0/+9
commit edcbf5137f093b5502f5f6b97cce3cbadbde27aa upstream. When mirroring to a gretap in hardware the device expects to be programmed with the egress port and all the encapsulating headers. This requires the driver to resolve the path the packet will take in the software data path and program the device accordingly. If the path cannot be resolved (in this case because of an unresolved neighbor), then mirror installation fails until the path is resolved. This results in a race that causes the test to sometimes fail. Fix this by setting the neighbor's state to permanent, so that it is always valid. 2021-01-17tools: selftests: add test for changing routes with PTMU exceptionsSean Tranchetti1-2/+69
[ Upstream commit 5316a7c0130acf09bfc8bb0092407006010fcccc ] Adds new 2 new tests to the PTMU script: pmtu_ipv4/6_route_change. These tests explicitly test for a recently discovered problem in the IPv6 routing framework where PMTU exceptions were not properly released when replacing a route via "ip route change ...". After creating PMTU exceptions, the route from the device A to R1 will be replaced with a new route, then device A will be deleted. If the PMTU exceptions were properly cleaned up by the kernel, this device deletion will succeed. Otherwise, the unregistration of the device will stall, and messages such as the following will be logged in dmesg: unregister_netdevice: waiting for veth_A-R1 to become free. 2020-12-30selftests: fix poll error in udpgro.shPaolo Abeni1-0/+3
[ Upstream commit 38bf8cd821be292e7d8e6f6283d67c5d9708f887 ] The test program udpgso_bench_rx always invokes the poll() syscall with a timeout of 10ms. If a larger timeout is specified via the command line, udpgso_bench_rx is supposed to do multiple poll() calls till the timeout is expired or an event is received. Currently the poll() loop errors out after the first invocation with no events, and may causes self-tests failure alike: failed GRO with custom segment size ./udpgso_bench_rx: poll: 0x0 expected 0x1 This change addresses the issue allowing the poll() loop to consume all the configured timeout. If rp_filter is set and inherited for r2, forwarding fails since the source address of h1 is reachable from eth0 vs the packet coming to it via r1 and eth1. 2020-08-11selftests/net: relax cpu affinity requirement in msg_zerocopy testWillem de Bruijn1-3/+2
[ Upstream commit 16f6458f2478b55e2b628797bc81a4455045c74e ] The msg_zerocopy test pins the sender and receiver threads to separate cores to reduce variance between runs. But it hardcodes the cores and skips core 0, so it fails on machines with the selected cores offline, or simply fewer cores. The test mainly gives code coverage in automated runs. The throughput of zerocopy ('-z') and non-zerocopy runs is logged for manual inspection. Continue even when sched_setaffinity fails. Just log to warn anyone interpreting the data. 2020-07-22ipv6: fib6_select_path can not use out path for nexthop objectsDavid Ahern1-0/+13
[ Upstream commit 34fe5a1cf95c3f114068fc16d919c9cf4b00e428 ] Brian reported a crash in IPv6 code when using rpfilter with a setup running FRR and external nexthop objects. The root cause of the crash is fib6_select_path setting fib6_nh in the result to NULL because of an improper check for nexthop objects. More specifically, rpfilter invokes ip6_route_lookup with flowi6_oif set causing fib6_select_path to be called with have_oif_match set. fib6_select_path has early check on have_oif_match and jumps to the out label which presumes a builtin fib6_nh. This path is invalid for nexthop objects; for external nexthops fib6_select_path needs to just return if the fib6_nh has already been set in the result otherwise it returns after the call to nexthop_path_fib6_result. Update the check on have_oif_match to not bail on external nexthops. Update selftests for this problem. Adding the definition to the test program avoids a compilation failure that gets in the way of building tools/testing/selftests/net. The test itself will work once the definition is added; either skipping due to DCCP not being configured in the kernel under test or passing, so there are no other more up-to-date glibc dependencies here it seems beyond that missing definition. [ Upstream commit e404b8c7cfb31654c9024d497cec58a501501692 ] After commit 27596472473a ("ipv6: fix ECMP route replacement") it is no longer possible to replace an ECMP-able route by a non ECMP-able route. For example, ip route add 2001:db8::1/128 via fe80::1 dev dummy0 ip route replace 2001:db8::1/128 dev dummy0 does not work as expected. Tweak the replacement logic so that point 3 in the log of the above commit becomes: 3. If the new route is not ECMP-able, and no matching non-ECMP-able route exists, replace matching ECMP-able route (if any) or add the new route. We can now summarize the entire replace semantics to: When doing a replace, prefer replacing a matching route of the same "ECMP-able-ness" as the replace argument. If there is no such candidate, fallback to the first route found. [ Upstream commit ea6a547669b37453f2b1a5d85188d75b3613dfaa ] The SO_TXTIME test depends on accurate timers. In some virtualized environments the test has been reported to be flaky. This is easily reproduced by disabling kvm acceleration in Qemu. Allow greater variance in a run and retry to further reduce flakiness. Observed errors are one of two kinds: either the packet arrives too early or late at recv(), or it was dropped in the qdisc itself and the recv() call times out. In the latter case, the qdisc queues a notification to the error queue of the send socket. Also explicitly report this cause. 2019-10-03udp: only do GSO if # of segs > 1Josh Hunt1-12/+4
Prior to this change an application sending <= 1MSS worth of data and enabling UDP GSO would fail if the system had SW GSO enabled, but the same send would succeed if HW GSO offload is enabled. In addition to this inconsistency the error in the SW GSO case does not get back to the application if sending out of a real device so the user is unaware of this failure. With this change we only perform GSO if the # of segments is > 1 even if the application has enabled segmentation. I've also updated the relevant udpgso selftests. Commit 7d9e5f422150 removed references from certain dsts, but accounting for this never translated down into the fib6 suppression code. This bug was triggered by WireGuard users who use wg-quick(8), which uses the "suppress-prefix" directive to ip-rule(8) for routing all of their internet traffic without routing loops. The test case added here causes the reference underflow by causing packets to evaluate a suppress rule.
