Commit da231338ec9c0987 ("perf record: Use an eventfd to wakeup when
done") uses eventfd() to solve a rare race where the setting and
checking of 'done' which add done_fd to pollfd. When draining buffer,
revents of done_fd is 0 and evlist__filter_pollfd function returns a
non-zero value. As a result, perf record does not stop profiling.
The following simple scenarios can trigger this condition:
# sleep 10 &
# perf record -p $!
After the sleep process exits, perf record should stop profiling and exit.
However, perf record keeps running.
If pollfd revents contains only POLLERR or POLLHUP, perf record
indicates that buffer is draining and need to stop profiling. Use
fdarray_flag__nonfilterable() to set done eventfd to nonfilterable
objects, so that evlist__filter_pollfd() does not filter and check done
eventfd.

The metricgroup__copy_metric_events() is to handle metrics events when
expanding event for cgroups. As the metric events keep pointers to
evsel, it should be refreshed when events are cloned during the
operation.
The perf_stat__collect_metric_expr() is also called in case an event has
a metric directly.
During the copy, it references evsel by index as the evlist now has
cloned evsels for the given cgroup.
Also kernel test robot found an issue in the python module import so add
empty implementations of those two functions to fix it.

Add 'snapshot' control command to create an AUX area tracing snapshot
the same as if sending SIGUSR2. The advantage of the FIFO is that access
is governed by access to the FIFO.
Example:
$ mkfifo perf.control
$ mkfifo perf.ack
$ cat perf.ack &
[1] 15235
$ sudo ~/bin/perf record --control fifo:perf.control,perf.ack -S -e intel_pt//u -- sleep 60 &
[2] 15243
$ ps -e | grep perf
15244 pts/1 00:00:00 perf
$ kill -USR2 15244
bash: kill: (15244) - Operation not permitted
$ echo snapshot > perf.control
ack

To pick up fixes and move perf/core forward, minor conflict as
perf_evlist__add_dummy() lost its 'perf_' prefix as it operates on a
'struct evlist', not on a 'struct perf_evlist', i.e. its tools/perf/
specific, it is not in libperf.

Commit 0a892c1c9472 ("perf record: Add dummy event during system wide
synthesis") reveals an issue with Intel PT system wide tracing.
Specifically that Intel PT already adds a dummy tracking event, and it
is not the first event. Adding another dummy tracking event causes
duplicated sideband events. Fix by checking for an existing dummy
tracking event first.
Example showing duplicated switch events:

I.e. so far we had just one event in that side band thread, a dummy one
with attr.bpf_event set, so that 'perf record' can go ahead and ask the
kernel for further information about BPF programs being loaded.
Allow for more than one event to be there, so that we can use it as
well for the upcoming --switch-output-event feature.

Restructure the event opening in perf stat to cycle through the events
by CPU after setting affinity to that CPU.
This eliminates IPI overhead in the perf API.
We have to loop through the CPU in the outter builtin-stat code instead
of leaving that to low level functions.
It has to change the weak group fallback strategy slightly. Since we
cannot easily undo the opens for other CPUs move the weak group retry to
a separate loop.
Before with a large test case with 94 CPUs:
% time seconds usecs/call calls errors syscall
------ ----------- ----------- --------- --------- ----------------
42.75 4.050910 67 60046 110 perf_event_open
After:
26.86 0.944396 16 58069 110 perf_event_open
(the number changes slightly because the weak group retries
work differently and the test case relies on weak groups)

Architectures are expected to know if AUX area sampling is supported by
the hardware. Add a function perf_can_aux_sample() which will determine
whether the kernel supports it.
Committer notes:
I reported that this message was taking place on a kernel without the
required bits:
# perf record --aux-sample -e '{intel_pt//u,branch-misses:u}'
Error:
The sys_perf_event_open() syscall returned with 7 (Argument list too long) for event (branch-misses:u).
/bin/dmesg | grep -i perf may provide additional information.
Adrian sent a patch addressing it, with this explanation:
----
perf_can_aux_sample_size() always returned true because it did not pass
the attribute size to sys_perf_event_open, nor correctly check the
return value and errno.
----
After applying it I get, later in the series, when --aux-sample is
added:
# perf record --aux-sample -e '{intel_pt//u,branch-misses:u}'

We'll need this to support 'perf trace e tracepoint --filter=expr', as
the command line tracepoint filter is attache to the preceding evsel,
just like in 'perf record' and when we go to set pid filters, which we
do at the minimum to filter 'perf trace' own syscalls, we need to

Will be used by 'perf trace' to support 'perf trace --filter', we need
to append to any pre-existing filter.
When parse_filter() gets invoked to process --filter, it'll set the
filter to that specified on the command line, later on, when we filter
out 'perf trace' own pid to avoid an event feedback loop, we need to
preserve the command line filter put in place by parse_filter().

Ditch it, noone is using it, one more stdio.h include in a hot header.
Fix the fallout in parse-events.y, where we end up using a FILE pointer,
I think due to YYDEBUG being set and in some places, like Amazon Linux 1
we don't get stdio.h included by luck, like in most other places, add a
explicit stdio.h include directive.

As this isn't used at all in mmap.h but in evlist.h, so to cut down the
header dependency tree, move it to where it is used.
Also add mmap.h to the places using it but previously getting it
indirectly via evlist.h.
Add missing pthread.h to evlist.h, as it has a pthread_t struct member
and was getting the header via mmap.h.
Noticed while processing a Jiri's libperf batch touching mmap.h, where
almost everything gets rebuilt because evlist.h is so popular, so cut
down't this rebuild the world party.
