The codec dies when RT5677_PWR_ANLG2(MX-64h) is set to 0xACE1
while it's streaming audio over SPI. The DSP firmware turns
on PLL2 (MX-64 bit 8) when SPI streaming starts. However regmap
does not believe that register can change by itself. When
BST1 (bit 15) is turned on with regmap_update_bits(), it doesn't
read the register first before write, so PLL2 power bit is
cleared by accident.
Marking MX-64h as volatile in regmap solved the issue.

If the CPU DAI does not initialise rate_max, say if using
using KNOT or CONTINUOUS, then the rate_max field will be
initialised to 0. A value of zero in the rate_max field of
the hardware runtime will cause the sound card to support no
sample rates at all. Obviously this is not desired, just a
different mechanism is being used to apply the constraints. As
such update the setting of rate_max in dpcm_init_runtime_hw
to be consistent with the non-DPCM cases and set rate_max to
UINT_MAX if nothing is defined on the CPU DAI.

[ Upstream commit b1f373a11d25fc9a5f7679c9b85799fe09b0dc4a ]
VAG power control is improved to fit the manual [1]. This patch fixes as
minimum one bug: if customer muxes Headphone to Line-In right after boot,
the VAG power remains off that leads to poor sound quality from line-in.
I.e. after boot:
- Connect sound source to Line-In jack;
- Connect headphone to HP jack;
- Run following commands:
$ amixer set 'Headphone' 80%
$ amixer set 'Headphone Mux' LINE_IN
Change VAG power on/off control according to the following algorithm:
- turn VAG power ON on the 1st incoming event.
- keep it ON if there is any active VAG consumer (ADC/DAC/HP/Line-In).
- turn VAG power OFF when there is the latest consumer's pre-down event
come.
- always delay after VAG power OFF to avoid pop.
- delay after VAG power ON if the initiative consumer is Line-In, this
prevents pop during line-in muxing.
According to the data sheet [1], to avoid any pops/clicks,
the outputs should be muted during input/output
routing changes.

[ Upstream commit 1e112c35e3c96db7c8ca6ddaa96574f00c06e7db ]
The slot_width is a property for the bus while the constraint for
SNDRV_PCM_HW_PARAM_SAMPLE_BITS is for the in memory format.
Applying slot_width constraint to sample_bits works most of the time, but
it will blacklist valid formats in some cases.
With slot_width 24 we can support S24_3LE and S24_LE formats as they both
look the same on the bus, but a a 24 constraint on sample_bits would not
allow S24_LE as it is stored in 32bits in memory.
Implement a simple hw_rule function to allow all formats which require less
or equal number of bits on the bus as slot_width (if configured).

[ Upstream commit 8dd26dff00c0636b1d8621acaeef3f6f3a39dd77 ]
DPCM uses snd_soc_dapm_dai_get_connected_widgets to build a
list of the widgets connected to a specific front end DAI so it
can search through this list for available back end DAIs. The
custom_stop_condition was added to is_connected_ep to facilitate this
list not containing more widgets than is necessary. Doing so both
speeds up the DPCM handling as less widgets need to be searched and
avoids issues with CODEC to CODEC links as these would be confused
with back end DAIs if they appeared in the list of available widgets.
custom_stop_condition was implemented by aborting the graph walk
when the condition is triggered, however there is an issue with this
approach. Whilst walking the graph is_connected_ep should update the
endpoints cache on each widget, if the walk is aborted the number
of attached end points is unknown for that sub-graph. When the stop
condition triggered, the original patch ignored the triggering widget
and returned zero connected end points; a later patch updated this
to set the triggering widget's cache to 1 and return that. Both of
these approaches result in inaccurate values being stored in various
end point caches as the values propagate back through the graph,
which can result in later issues with widgets powering/not powering
unexpectedly.
As the original goal was to reduce the size of the widget list passed
to the DPCM code, the simplest solution is to limit the functionality
of the custom_stop_condition to the widget list. This means the rest
of the graph will still be processed resulting in correct end point
caches, but only widgets up to the stop condition will be added to the
returned widget list.

If playback/capture is paused and system enters S3, after system returns
from suspend, BE dai needs to call prepare() callback when playback/capture
is released from pause if RESUME_INFO flag is not set.
Currently, the dpcm_be_dai_prepare() function will block calling prepare()
if the pcm is in SND_SOC_DPCM_STATE_PAUSED state. This will cause the
following test case fail if the pcm uses BE:
playback -> pause -> S3 suspend -> S3 resume -> pause release
The playback may exit abnormally when pause is released because the BE dai
prepare() is not called.
This patch allows dpcm_be_dai_prepare() to call dai prepare() callback in
SND_SOC_DPCM_STATE_PAUSED state.

During randconfig builds, I occasionally run into an invalid configuration

sound/soc/fsl/imx-ssi.o: In function `imx_ssi_probe':
imx-ssi.c:(.text+0xa64): undefined reference to `imx_pcm_fiq_init'
The Kconfig warning is a result of the symbol being defined inside of
the "if SND_IMX_SOC" block, and is otherwise harmless. The link error
is more tricky and happens with SND_SOC_IMX_SSI=y, which may or may not
imply FIQ support. However, if SND_SOC_FSL_SSI is set to =m at the same
time, that selects SND_SOC_IMX_PCM_FIQ as a loadable module dependency,
which then causes a link failure from imx-ssi.
The solution here is to make SND_SOC_IMX_PCM_FIQ built-in whenever
one of its potential users is built-in.

commit a46eb523220e242affb9a6bc9bb8efc05f4f7459 upstream.
The current algorithm allows 3 types of transfers, 16bit, 32bit and
burst. According to Realtek, 16bit transfers have a special restriction
in that it is restricted to the memory region of
0x18020000 ~ 0x18021000. This region is the memory location of the I2C
registers. The current algorithm does not uphold this restriction and
therefore fails to complete writes.
Since this has been broken for some time it likely no one is using it.
Better to simply disable the 16 bit writes. This will allow users to
properly load firmware over SPI without data corruption.

commit ecb2795c08bc825ebd604997e5be440b060c5b18 upstream.
The max98090 driver defines 3 DAPM muxes; one for the right line output
(LINMOD Mux), one for the left headphone mixer source (MIXHPLSEL Mux)
and one for the right headphone mixer source (MIXHPRSEL Mux). The same
bit is used for the mux as well as the DAPM enable, and although the mux
can be correctly configured, after playback has completed, the mux will
be reset during the disable phase. This is preventing the state of these
muxes from being saved and restored correctly on system reboot. Fix this
by marking these muxes as SND_SOC_NOPM.
Note this has been verified this on the Tegra124 Nyan Big which features
the MAX98090 codec.

commit 0efa3334d65b7f421ba12382dfa58f6ff5bf83c4 upstream.
Currently in sst_dsp_new() if we get an error return from sst_dma_new()
we just print an error message and then still complete the function
successfully. This means that we are trying to run without sst->dma
properly set up, which will result in NULL pointer dereference when
sst->dma is later used. This was happening for me in
sst_dsp_dma_get_channel():
struct sst_dma *dma = dsp->dma;
...
dma->ch = dma_request_channel(mask, dma_chan_filter, dsp);
This resulted in:
BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 0000000000000018
IP: sst_dsp_dma_get_channel+0x4f/0x125 [snd_soc_sst_firmware]
Fix this by adding proper error handling for the case where we fail to
set up DMA.
This change only affects Haswell and Broadwell systems. Baytrail
systems explicilty opt-out of DMA via sst->pdata->resindex_dma_base
being set to -1.

[ Upstream commit 570f18b6a8d1f0e60e8caf30e66161b6438dcc91 ]
On HDaudio platforms, if playback is started when capture is working,
there is no audible output.
This can be root-caused to the use of the rx|tx_mask to store an HDaudio
stream tag.
If capture is stared before playback, rx_mask would be non-zero on HDaudio
platform, then the channel number of playback, which is in the same codec
dai with the capture, would be changed by soc_pcm_codec_params_fixup based
on the tx_mask at first, then overwritten by this function based on rx_mask
at last.
According to the author of tx|rx_mask, tx_mask is for playback and rx_mask
is for capture. And stream direction is checked at all other references of
tx|rx_mask in ASoC, so here should be an error. This patch checks stream
direction for tx|rx_mask for fixup function.
This issue would affect not only HDaudio+ASoC, but also I2S codecs if the
channel number based on rx_mask is not equal to the one for tx_mask. It could
be rarely reproduecd because most drivers in kernel set the same channel number
to tx|rx_mask or rx_mask is zero.
Tested on all platforms using stream_tag & HDaudio and intel I2S platforms.

commit 0ff4e8c61b794a4bf6c854ab071a1abaaa80f358 upstream.
There is very low possibility ( < 0.1% ) that channel swap happened
in beginning when multi output/input pin is enabled. The issue is
that hardware can't send data to correct pin in the beginning with
the normal enable flow.
This is hardware issue, but there is no errata, the workaround flow
is that: Each time playback/recording, firstly clear the xSMA/xSMB,
then enable TE/RE, then enable xSMB and xSMA (xSMB must be enabled
before xSMA). Which is to use the xSMA as the trigger start register,
previously the xCR_TE or xCR_RE is the bit for starting.

Change snprintf to scnprintf. There are generally two cases where using
snprintf causes problems.
1) Uses of size += snprintf(buf, SIZE - size, fmt, ...)
In this case, if snprintf would have written more characters than what the
buffer size (SIZE) is, then size will end up larger than SIZE. In later
uses of snprintf, SIZE - size will result in a negative number, leading
to problems. Note that size might already be too large by using
size = snprintf before the code reaches a case of size += snprintf.
2) If size is ultimately used as a length parameter for a copy back to user
space, then it will potentially allow for a buffer overflow and information
disclosure when size is greater than SIZE. When the size is used to index
the buffer directly, we can have memory corruption. This also means when
size = snprintf... is used, it may also cause problems since size may become
large. Copying to userspace is mitigated by the HARDENED_USERCOPY kernel
configuration.
The solution to these issues is to use scnprintf which returns the number of
characters actually written to the buffer, so the size variable will never
exceed SIZE.
